मंत्रिमंडल ने मालदीव में भारत के नए महावाणिज्य दूतावास को मंजूरी दी

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने 2021 में मालदीव के अड्डू शहर में भारत के एक नए महावाणिज्य दूतावास के उद्घाटन को मंजूरी दे दी है। भारत और मालदीव पुरातनता में डूबे हुए जातीय, भाषाई, सांस्कृतिक, धार्मिक और वाणिज्यिक लिंक साझा करते हैं। मालदीव 'नेबरहुड फर्स्ट पालिसी' और 'सागर' (क्षेत्र में सभी के लिए सुरक्षा और विकास) भारत सरकार के दृष्टिकोण में एक महत्वपूर्ण स्थान रखता है।
• अड्डू शहर में एक महावाणिज्य दूतावास के खुलने से मालदीव में भारत की राजनयिक उपस्थिति को बढ़ाने में मदद मिलेगी और इसे मौजूदा और इच्छुक स्तर के जुड़ाव के अनुरूप बनाया जाएगा।

केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्री ने 74वीं विश्व स्वास्थ्य सभा की अध्यक्षता की

• केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्री और WHO कार्यकारी बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष डॉ हर्षवर्धन (Dr Harsh Vardhan) ने वर्चुअल मोड में 74वीं विश्व स्वास्थ्य सभा की अध्यक्षता की। डॉ हर्षवर्धन के अनुसार, कार्यकारी बोर्ड ने आगे के प्रयासों के लिए कहा है, जो COVAX सुविधा के तहत C-19 टीकों की निष्पक्ष और समान पहुंच सुनिश्चित कर सकते हैं। विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन के महानिदेशक डॉ टेड्रोस ने भी इस कार्यक्रम में भाग लिया।
• बोर्ड ने C-19 महामारी के लिए मानसिक स्वास्थ्य तैयारियों और प्रतिक्रिया पर रिपोर्ट पर विचार करने के लिए 74वीं विश्व स्वास्थ्य सभा की सिफारिश की।इसने 2013 से 2030 के लिए अद्यतन व्यापक मानसिक स्वास्थ्य कार्य योजना का समर्थन करने की सिफारिश की और WHO को विश्व पशु स्वास्थ्य और खाद्य एवं कृषि संगठन के सहयोग से काम करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया ताकि जूनोटिक वायरस के स्रोत की पहचान की जा सके।

जिनेवा ओपन टेनिस- कैस्पर ने पुरुष एकल खिताब जीता

• नॉर्वे के कैस्पर रूड ने डेनिस शापोवालोव पर 7-6 (8/6), 6-4 से जीत के साथ एटीपी जिनेवा ओपन फाइनल जीता है। जिनेवा में जीत का मतलब है कि नॉर्वे की दुनिया की 21वीं नंबर की खिलाड़ी पेरिस में शीर्ष 16 सीड में शामिल होने जा रही है।
• सभी क्ले-कोर्ट इवेंट्स में, एक दूसरे करियर के खिताब ने रुड के रिकॉर्ड को फाइनल में 2-2 से ऊपर उठा दिया। 22 वर्षीय नॉर्वेजियन का पिछला खिताब पिछले साल ब्यूनस आयर्स में जीता था।

पंजाब सरकार ने मोहाली अंतरराष्ट्रीय हॉकी स्टेडियम का नाम बदलने की घोषणा की

• पंजाब सरकार ने आखिरकार ट्रिपल ओलंपियन और पद्म श्री बलबीर सिंह के नाम पर मोहाली इंटरनेशनल हॉकी स्टेडियम का नाम बदलने की घोषणा की। स्टेडियम को अब ओलंपियन बलबीर सिंह सीनियर इंटरनेशनल हॉकी स्टेडियम के नाम से जाना जाएगा। सरकार ने राज्य के मेधावी हॉकी खिलाड़ियों के लिए लीजेंड के नाम पर एक छात्रवृत्ति योजना शुरू करने की भी घोषणा की।
• भारतीय हॉकी टीम को तीन बार का ओलंपिक चैंपियन बनाने में बलबीर सिंह सीनियर ने अहम भूमिका निभाई। उनका ओलंपिक फाइनल रिकॉर्ड आज तक कोई नहीं तोड़ पाया है। उन्होंने 1952 के ओलंपिक खेलों के फाइनल में नीदरलैंड पर भारत की 6-1 से जीत में पांच गोल किए। वह 1975 विश्व कप विजेता भारतीय टीम के मैनेजर भी थे। पंजाब सरकार ने इस दिग्गज खिलाड़ी को 2019 में महाराजा रणजीत सिंह पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया था।

पूर्व फॉर्मूला वन बॉस मैक्स मोस्ले का 81 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया

• फॉर्मूला वन की शासी निकाय के पूर्व प्रमुख मैक्स मोस्ले का 81 वर्ष की आयु में कैंसर से पीड़ित होने के कारण निधन हो गया है।
• वह 1930 के दशक में ब्रिटिश फासीवादी आंदोलन के नेता ओसवाल्ड मोस्ले के सबसे छोटे बेटे थे। 1993 में इंटरनेशनल ऑटोमोबाइल फेडरेशन (FIA) के अध्यक्ष बनने से पहले मोस्ले एक रेसिंग ड्राइवर, टीम के मालिक और वकील थे।

अमेरिकी ओलंपिक धावक ली इवांस का निधन हो गया

• ली इवांस, रिकॉर्ड-सेटिंग स्प्रिंटर, जिन्होंने 1968 के ओलंपिक में विरोध के संकेत में एक काले रंग की बेरी पहनी थी, फिर सामाजिक न्याय के समर्थन में मानवीय कार्यों में लग गए।
• इवांस 400 मीटर में 44 सेकंड का समय क्रैक वाले पहले व्यक्ति बने, उन्होंने 43।86 में मैक्सिको सिटी गेम्स में स्वर्ण पदक जीता।

कांगो के नए प्रधान मंत्री: कोलिनेट माकोसो

• कांगो गणराज्य के राष्ट्रपति, डेनिस ससौ न्गुएसो ने अनातोले कोलिनेट माकोसो को देश का प्रधान मंत्री नियुक्त किया है। उन्होंने 2016 से कार्यालय में क्लेमेंट मौम्बा की जगह ली। इस नियुक्ति से पहले, मकोसो मध्य अफ्रीकी देश के शिक्षा मंत्री थे। वह 2011 से 2016 तक युवा और नागरिक शिक्षा मंत्री भी रहे।
• 2016 से, उन्होंने साक्षरता के प्रभारी प्राथमिक और माध्यमिक शिक्षा मंत्री का पद संभाला है। श्री कोलिनेट माकोसो पिछले राष्ट्रपति चुनाव के दौरान उम्मीदवार ससौ न्गुएसो के उप अभियान प्रबंधक थे।

भारत और इज़राइल ने 2023 तक तीन साल के संयुक्त कार्य कार्यक्रम पर हस्ताक्षर किए

• भारत और इज़राइल ने तीन साल के जॉइंट वर्क प्रोग्राम पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं जो 2023 तक जारी रहेगा। कृषि में सहयोग बढ़ाने के उद्देश्य से एक जॉइंट वर्क प्रोग्राम शुरू किया गया था। नए वर्क प्रोग्राम के तहत, भारतीय किसानों को इजरायल के खेत और जल प्रौद्योगिकियों के बारे में जागरूक करने के लिए 13 उत्कृष्टता केंद्र (CoE) स्थापित किए गए थे।
• कृषि में एक मॉडल पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र जिसे विलेज ऑफ एक्सीलेंस (VoE) कहा जाता है, को भी 75 गांवों के भीतर आठ राज्यों में बनाया जाएगा। नया प्रोग्राम शुद्ध आय में वृद्धि को बढ़ावा देगा और व्यक्तिगत किसान की आजीविका को बढ़ाएगा। भारत और इज़राइल ने चार समान जॉइंट वर्क प्रोग्राम को सफलतापूर्वक पूरा किया है।

2021 एशिया-पैसिफिक स्टीवी अवार्ड्स: स्पाइसहेल्थ ने जीता गोल्ड स्टीवी अवार्ड 2021

• स्पाइसजेट के प्रमोटरों द्वारा स्थापित एक स्वास्थ्य सेवा कंपनी स्पाइसहेल्थ ने C-19 के तहत 'मोस्ट वैल्यूएबल मेडिकल इनोवेशन' के लिए 2021 एशिया-पैसिफिक स्टीवी अवार्ड्स में गोल्ड अवार्ड जीता है। ऐसे समय में जब नवंबर 2020 में C -19 भारत में सबसे अधिक था, अवनि सिंह के नेतृत्व में स्पाइसहेल्थ ने सेल प्रयोगशालाओं में जांच दिल्ली में 2,400 रुपये की तत्कालीन वर्तमान दर के मुकाबले 499 रुपये पर प्रदान करके रीयल-टाइम पॉलीमरेज़ चेन रिएक्शन (RT-PCR) परीक्षण घर को बाधित किया और पूरे देश में नाटकीय रूप से C -19 परीक्षण मूल्य को कम करने में मदद की।
• एशिया-पैसिफिक स्टीवी अवार्ड्स एशिया-प्रशांत क्षेत्र के सभी 29 देशों में कार्यस्थल के भीतर नवाचार को मान्यता देने के लिए एक व्यावसायिक पुरस्कार कार्यक्रम है। स्टीवी अवार्ड्स को मोटे तौर पर दुनिया का प्रमुख व्यावसायिक पुरस्कार माना जाता है, जो 19 वर्षों के लिए द इंटरनेशनल बिजनेस अवार्ड्स के समान अनुप्रयोगों में उपलब्धि के लिए मान्यता प्रदान करता है।

एनपीसीआई ने PayCore के साथ भागीदारी की

• भारतीय राष्ट्रीय भुगतान निगम (NPCI) ने पूरे देश में कैशलेस भुगतान चलाने के लिए RuPay SoftPOS के प्रमाणित भागीदारों में से एक के रूप में तुर्की की वैश्विक भुगतान समाधान कंपनी पेकोर (PayCore) के साथ भागीदारी की है। RuPay SoftPOS व्यापारियों को केवल अपने मोबाइल फोन के साथ कॉन्टैक्टलेस कार्ड, मोबाइल वॉलेट और वियरेबल्स से सुरक्षित रूप से भुगतान स्वीकार करने में सक्षम बनाता है।
• NPCI ने RuPay के लिए PayCore द्वारा विकसित SoftPOS समाधान को अधिकृत किया है। NFC क्षमता या ऐड-ऑन के साथ सक्षम मोबाइल फोन का उपयोग करके RuPay को प्राप्त करने में सक्षम बनाने के लिए इस समाधान को बैंक या एग्रीगेटर अधिग्रहण प्रणाली में एकीकृत किया जा सकता है।
• लाखों व्यापारी अब RuPay SoftPOS के माध्यम से संपर्क रहित भुगतान स्वीकार करने के लिए अपने निकट क्षेत्र संचार-सक्षम (NFC) स्मार्टफोन को POS मशीन में परिवर्तित कर सकते हैं।

2020-21 में प्रत्यक्ष विदेशी निवेश 19% बढ़कर 59।64 बिलियन डॉलर हो गया

• नीतिगत सुधारों, निवेश सुविधा और व्यापार करने में आसानी के मोर्चे पर सरकार द्वारा किए गए उपायों के कारण 2020-21 के दौरान देश में प्रत्यक्ष विदेशी निवेश (FDI) 19 प्रतिशत बढ़कर 59।64 बिलियन अमरीकी डॉलर हो गया है। इक्विटी, पुन:निवेश की गई आय और पूंजी सहित कुल FDI, 2020-21 के दौरान 81।72 बिलियन अमरीकी डालर के "उच्चतम" 10 प्रतिशत बढ़कर 2019-20 में 74।39 बिलियन अमरीकी डालर हो गया।
• शीर्ष निवेशक देशों के मामले में सिंगापुर 29 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी के साथ शीर्ष पर है। इसके बाद पिछले वित्त वर्ष में अमेरिका (23 प्रतिशत) और मॉरीशस (9 प्रतिशत) का स्थान रहा। 2019-20 (49।98 बिलियन अमरीकी डॉलर) की तुलना में 2020-21 (59।64 बिलियन अमरीकी डॉलर) में FDI इक्विटी इनफ्लो 19 प्रतिशत बढ़ा।

Cabinet approved a new Consulate General of India in Maldives

• Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the opening of a new Consulate General of India in Addu City, the Maldives in 2021. India and Maldives share ethnic, linguistic, cultural, religious and commercial links steeped in antiquity. Maldives occupies an important place in the ‘Neighbourhood First Policy’ and the ‘SAGAR’ (Security and Growth for All in the Region) vision of the Government of India.
• The opening of a Consulate General in Addu City will help augment India’s diplomatic presence in the Maldives and make it commensurate with the existing and aspired level of engagement.

NATIONAL

Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare chaired 74th World Health Assembly

• Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chairman of WHO Executive Board, Dr Harsh Vardhan, chaired the 74th World Health Assembly in virtual mode. According to Dr Harsh Vardhan, the executive board has asked for further efforts which can ensure fair and equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines under COVAX Facility. Director-General of World Health Organisation, Dr Tedros, also participated in the event.
• Board recommended 74th World Health Assembly to consider the report on mental health preparedness and response for the Covid-19 pandemic. It further recommended endorsing updated comprehensive Mental Health Action Plan for 2013 to 2030 and encouraged WHO to work in collaboration with World Organisation for Animal Health and Food & Agriculture Organisation so that source of zoonotic virus can be identified.

Geneva Open tennis- Casper wins Men’s Singles title

• Norway’s Casper Ruud has won the ATP Geneva Open final with a 7-6 (8/6), 6-4 victory over Denis Shapovalov. Victory in Geneva means the Norwegian world number 21 is going to be among the top 16 seeds in Paris.
• A second career title lifted Ruud’s record to 2-2 in finals, all at clay-court events. The 22-year-old Norwegian’s previous title was at Buenos Aires last year.

Punjab Government finally announced that Mohali international hockey stadium renamed

• The Punjab Government finally announced to rename the Mohali International Hockey Stadium, after triple Olympian and Padma Shri Balbir Singh Sr. The stadium will now be known as Olympian Balbir Singh Senior International Hockey Stadium. The government also announced to start a scholarship scheme in the legend’s name for meritorious hockey players of the state.
• Balbir Singh Sr played an important role in making the Indian hockey team a three-time Olympics champion. No one has been able to break his Olympics final record till date. He scored five goals in India’s 6-1 victory over the Netherlands in the final of the 1952 Olympic Games. He also was the manager of the 1975 World Cup-winning Indian team. The Punjab Government had honoured the legendary player with the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Award in 2019.

OBITUARY

Ex-Formula One boss Max Mosley passed away at the age of 81

• Max Mosley, the former head of Formula One’s governing body, has died at the age of 81 after suffering from cancer.
• The youngest son of Oswald Mosley, the leader of the British fascist movement in the 1930s. Mosley was a racing driver, team owner and lawyer before becoming president of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) in 1993.

U.S. Olympic sprinter Lee Evans passed away

• Lee Evans, the record-setting sprinter who wore a black beret in a sign of protest at the 1968 Olympics then went onto a life of humanitarian work in support of social justice.
• Evans became the first man to crack 44 seconds in the 400 meters, winning the gold medal at the Mexico City Games in 43.86.

Congo’s new Prime Minister: Collinet Makosso

• The President of the Republic of Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso has appointed Anatole Collinet Makosso as the country’s Prime Minister. He replaced Clement Mouamba, in-office since 2016. Before this appointment, Makosso was the education minister of the Central African country. He was also minister of youth and civic instruction from 2011 to 2016.
• Since 2016, he has held the position of Minister of Primary and Secondary Education in charge of literacy. Mr Collinet Makosso was the deputy campaign manager of candidate Sassou Nguesso during the last presidential election.

India and Israel have inked a three-year joint work programme, till 2023

• India and Israel have inked a three-year joint work programme which will continue till 2023. A joint work programme was initiated with the aim of enhancing cooperation in agriculture. Under the new work programme, 13 Centres of Excellence (CoEs) were set up to make Indian farmers aware of Israeli farm and water technologies.
• A model ecosystem in agriculture called Villages of Excellence (VoE) will also be created across eight states within 75 villages. The new programme will promote the increase in net income and enhance the livelihood of the individual farmer. India and Israel have completed four similar joint work programmes successfully.

2021 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards: SpiceHealth wins Gold Stevie Award 2021

• SpiceHealth, a healthcare company founded by the promoters of SpiceJet, has won the Gold Award at the 2021 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards for ‘Most Valuable Medical Innovation’ under Covid19. At a time when Covid-19 was at an all-time excessive in India in November 2020, SpiceHealth, beneath the management of Avani Singh, disrupted the Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) testing house by providing checks in cell laboratories at ₹499, versus the then-present rate of ₹2,400 in Delhi and helped convey down Covid-19 testing price dramatically throughout the nation.
• The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards are the one business awards program to recognise innovation within the workplace in all 29 nations of the Asia-Pacific area. NPCI partnered with PayCore

• The National Payments Corp. of India (NPCI) has partnered with Turkey’s global payment solutions company PayCore as one of the certified partners for RuPay SoftPOS to drive cashless payments across the country. RuPay SoftPOS enables merchants to accept payments securely from contactless cards, mobile wallets, and wearables just with their mobile phones.
• NPCI has authorized the SoftPOS solution developed by PayCore for RuPay. This solution can be integrated into bank or aggregator acquiring systems to enable acquiring of RuPay using mobile phones enabled with NFC capability or add-ons.
• Millions of merchants now can convert their near field communication-enabled (NFC) smartphones into a POS machine to accept contactless payments through RuPay SoftPOS.

Foreign direct investment jumps 19% to $59.64 billion in 2020-21

• Foreign direct investments (FDI) into the country grew 19 per cent to USD 59.64 billion during 2020-21 on account of measures taken by the government on the fronts of policy reforms, investment facilitation and ease of doing business. Total FDI, including equity, re-invested earnings and capital, rose 10 per cent to the “highest ever” of USD 81.72 billion during 2020-21 as against USD 74.39 billion in 2019-20.
• In terms of top investor countries, Singapore is at the top with a 29 per cent share. It was followed by the US (23 per cent) and Mauritius (9 per cent) during the last fiscal. FDI equity inflow grew by 19 per cent in 2020-21 (USD 59.64 billion), compared to 2019-20 (USD 49.98 billion).
