गोवा में सैंड ड्यून पार्क के लिए विश्व बैंक ने 3 करोड़ रु मंजूर किए

• भारत के पहले रेत टिब्बा पार्क और व्याख्या केंद्र गोवा में विकसित किए जाने वाले हैं। विश्व बैंक ने कार्यक्रम के तहत लगभग 3 करोड़ रुपये मंजूर किए हैं। गोवा राज्य जैव विविधता बोर्ड ने परियोजना का प्रस्ताव दिया है, जिसे विश्व बैंक से वित्तीय सहायता के साथ लागू किया जाएगा।
• अंडोरा अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष (IMF) में शामिल हो गया है, जो इसका 190 वां सदस्य है।
• अंडोरा फ्रांस और स्पेन के बीच स्थित एक माइक्रोस्टेट है। हालाँकि, यह यूरोप का सबसे बड़ा माइक्रोस्टेट है।
• आईएमएफ की सदस्यता, ऑर्थरन सरकार को आईएमएफ नीति सलाह से लाभान्वित करने की अनुमति देती है।

भूटान में भारत-सहायता प्राप्त पनबिजली परियोजना ने ब्रिटेन के इंजीनियरों का बॉडी अवार्ड जीता

• भूटान में भारत-समर्थित मंगदेछु जलविद्युत परियोजना को ब्रूनल मेडल 2020 से सम्मानित किया गया, जो ब्रिटेन के शीर्ष इंजीनियरिंग निकाय, सिविल इंजीनियर्स संस्थान द्वारा सम्मानित किया गया।
• 720 मेगावाट की मंगदेछू रन-ऑफ-रिवर पावर परियोजना 4,500 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से मध्य भूटान के ट्रोंगसा द्ज़ोंगखाग जिले में मंगदेछु नदी पर बनाई गई है।
• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की भूटान की राजकीय यात्रा के दौरान अगस्त 2019 में दोनों देशों के प्रधानमंत्रियों द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से इस परियोजना का उद्घाटन किया गया था।

 पाकिस्तान फरवरी 2021 तक अपनी ग्रे सूची में बना रहेगा

• वैश्विक आतंकी वित्तपोषण पहरेदार, फाइनेंशियल एक्शन टास्क फोर्स (FATF) ने घोषणा की है कि पाकिस्तान फरवरी 2021 तक अपनी ग्रे सूची में बना रहेगा।
• यह निर्णय तब से लिया गया है जब पाकिस्तान आतंक के वित्तपोषण की जांच करने के लिए 27 में से छह आदेशों को पूरा नहीं कर पाया है। एफएटीएफ ने पाकिस्तान से फरवरी 2021 तक अपनी पूर्ण कार्य योजना को तेजी से पूरा करने का आग्रह किया है।

 पीएम मोदी ने गुजरात में 3 प्रोजेक्ट लॉन्च किए

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने नई दिल्ली से वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंस के माध्यम से अपने गृह राज्य गुजरात में तीन परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन किया है, जिनमें से प्रत्येक किसान कल्याण, स्वास्थ्य सेवा और पर्यटन विकास से संबंधित है। उद्घाटन परियोजनाओं में शामिल हैं:

किसान सूर्योदय योजना

• किसान सूर्योदय योजना ’एक कृषि योजना है जिसका उद्देश्य किसानों को सिंचाई के लिए सुबह 5 बजे से रात 9 बजे (16 घंटे) के दौरान बिजली की आपूर्ति प्रदान करना है।
• राज्य सरकार ने 2023 तक इस योजना के तहत ट्रांसमिशन बुनियादी ढांचे को स्थापित करने के लिए 3,500 करोड़ रुपये का बजट आवंटित किया है।
• प्रारंभ में, दाहोद, पाटन, महिसागर, पंचमहल, छोटा उदेपुर, खेड़ा, तापी, वलसाड, आनंद और गिर-सोमनाथ जिले 2020-21 की योजना के तहत शामिल किए गए हैं। बाकी को 2022-23 तक चरणबद्ध तरीके से शामिल किया जाएगा।

अहमदाबाद में भारत का सबसे बड़ा हृदय अस्पताल

• बाल हृदय अस्पताल का उद्घाटन अहमदाबाद के सिविल अस्पताल परिसर में यूएन मेहता इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ कार्डियोलॉजी एंड रिसर्च सेंटर में किया गया था और टेलीकार्डियोलॉजी के लिए एक मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन।
• नई सुविधाओं की स्थापना 470 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से की गई है और यह कार्डियोलॉजी के लिए भारत का सबसे बड़ा अस्पताल होगा।
• इसने मौजूदा 450 बिस्तरों को बढ़ाकर 1251 बिस्तरों, 531 कार्डियक आईसीयू बिस्तरों, 15 कार्डियक मॉड्यूलर ऑपरेशन थिएटरों और 6 कार्डियक कैथ लैबों में बढ़ा दिया है।

जूनागढ़ के गिरनार में दुनिया की सबसे लंबी मंदिर रोपवे परियोजना

• जूनागढ़ में गिरनार पहाड़ी रोपवे 130 करोड़ रुपये की परियोजना है। यह इस ऐतिहासिक स्थान पर अधिक पर्यटकों और तीर्थयात्रियों को आकर्षित करेगा जो रोजगार के अवसरों को बढ़ावा देगा।
• 2,320 मीटर लंबे रोपवे में हर घंटे 1,000 यात्रियों को ले जाने की क्षमता है।

लुईस हैमिल्टन ने पुर्तगाली ग्रां प्री 2020 जीता

• लुईस हैमिल्टन (मर्सिडीज-ग्रेट ब्रिटेन) ने पुर्तगाल के अल्गार्वे इंटरनेशनल सर्किट में आयोजित 2020 पुर्तगाली ग्रैंड प्रिक्स जीता है। यह 2020 फॉर्मूला वन वर्ल्ड चैम्पियनशिप का 12 वां दौर था। यह हैमिल्टन की सीजन की 8 वीं जीत और करियर की 92 वीं जीत है।
• इस जीत के साथ, उन्होंने जर्मन महान माइकल शूमाकर द्वारा निर्धारित 91 जीत के रिकॉर्ड को पीछे छोड़ दिया। वाल्टेरी बोटास (मर्सिडीज- फिनलैंड) दूसरे स्थान पर मैक्स वेरस्टैपेन (रेड बुल - नीदरलैंड) के बाद तीसरे स्थान पर रहा।

सैमसंग के चेयरमैन ली कुन-ही का 78 साल की उम्र में निधन

• सैमसंग इलेक्ट्रोनिक्स (Samsung Electronics) के चेयरमैन ली कुन-ही (Lee Kun-hee) का रविवार को 78 वर्ष की उम्र में निधन हो गया। कंपनी ने एक आधिकारिक बयान जारी कर ली के निधन की पुष्टि की।
• कंपनी ने जानकारी देते हुए कहा, 'बड़े दुख के साथ सूचित करना पड़ रहा है कि सैमसंग इलेक्ट्रोनिक्स के चेयरमैन ली कुन ही का 25 अक्टूबर को निधन हो गया है। उन्होंने सैमसंग को दुनिया की सबसे श्रेष्ठ इलेक्ट्रोनिक्स कंपनियों में से एक बनाया था।

World Bank sanctions Rs 3 crore for Sand Dune Park in Goa

• India’s first sand dune parks and interpretation centres are set to be developed in Goa. World Bank has sanctioned around Rs.3 crore under the programme. The Goa state biodiversity board has proposed the project, which will be implemented with financial assistance from the World Bank.
• Andorra has joined the International Monetary Fund (IMF), to become its 190th member.
• Andorra is a microstate situated between France and Spain. However, it is the largest microstate in Europe.
• IMF’s Membership allows the Andorran government to benefit from IMF policy advice, especially as the country tackles the crisis caused by COVID-19 and can now receive an annual review or “health check” of its economy by the IMF, tap technical assistance, and access IMF lending if needed.

India-assisted hydroelectric project in Bhutan wins UK engineers’ body award

• India-assisted Mangdechhu Hydroelectric project in Bhutan has been awarded the Brunel Medal-2020, an award conferred by the UK’s top engineering body, Institute of Civil Engineers.
• The 720-MW Mangdechhu run-of-river power project is built on the Mangdechhu River in Trongsa Dzongkhag district of central Bhutan at a cost of Rs 4,500-crore.
• The project was jointly inaugurated by the prime ministers of the two countries in August 2019, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to Bhutan.

 Pakistan to remain in grey list of FATF till Feb 2021

• The global terror financing watchdog, Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has announced that Pakistan will continue to remain on its grey list till February 2021.
• This decision has been taken since Pakistan has not been able to fulfil six out of the 27 mandates to check terror funding. FATF has strongly urged Pakistan to swiftly complete its full action plan by February 2021.

 PM Modi launched 3 projects in Gujarat

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated three projects in his home State Gujarat, one each related to farmers’ welfare, healthcare, and tourism development, via video conference from New Delhi. The projects inaugurated include:

 Kisan Suryodaya Yojna

• The ‘Kisan Suryodaya Yojna’ is an Agri scheme which aims to provide power supply during daytime from 5 am to 9 pm (16 hours) for irrigation purposes to farmers.
• The state government has allocated a budget of Rs 3,500 crores for installing transmission infrastructure under this scheme by 2023.
• Initially, Dahod, Patan, Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Chhota Udepur, Kheda, Tapi, Valsad, Anand and Gir-Somnath districts have been covered under the scheme for 2020-21. The rest will be included in a phased manner by 2022-23.

 India’s biggest cardiac hospital in Ahmedabad

• The Paediatric Heart Hospital was inaugurated at U.N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre at Civil Hospital campus in Ahmedabad and a Mobile Application for telecardiology.
• The new facilities have been set up at the cost of Rs 470 crore and will be India’s biggest hospital for cardiology.
• It has increased the existing 450 beds to 1251 beds, 531 cardiac ICU beds, 15 cardiac modular operation theatres and 6 cardiac cath labs.

 World’s longest temple ropeway project at Girnar in Junagadh

• Girnar hill ropeway at Junagadh is Rs 130 crore project. It would attract more tourists and pilgrims to this historical place which will boost employment opportunities.
• The 2,320 metres long ropeway has a capacity of carrying 1,000 passengers every hour.

Lewis Hamilton wins Portuguese Grand Prix 2020

• Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes-Great Britain) has won the 2020 Portuguese Grand Prix, held at Algarve International Circuit, Portugal. This was the 12th round of the 2020 Formula One World Championship. This is Hamilton’s 8th win of the season and 92nd career race victory.
• With this win, he has surpassed the record of 91 wins set by German great Michael Schumacher. Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes- Finland) came second followed by Max Verstappen (Red Bull – Netherlands) at the third spot.

Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-Hee passes away

• The chairman of South Korea’s largest conglomerate, Samsung Group, Lee Kun-hee has passed away. Lee helped to transform Samsung from a small trading business to become the world’s largest producer of smartphones and memory chips.
• The firm’s overall turnover today is equivalent to a fifth of South Korea’s GDP. Lee was also the richest person in South Korea, according to Forbes, with a net worth of nearly $21bn.
