इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर प्रोजेक्ट्स के लिए DFC करेगा भारत में USD 54 मिलियन का निवेश

• संयुक्त राज्य अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विकास वित्त निगम (DFC) ने C-19 महामारी के मद्देनजर देश में महत्वपूर्ण इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर परियोजनाओं के विकास के लिए भारत में $54 मिलियन का निवेश करने की घोषणा की है। DFC इस $54 मिलियन को भारत में राष्ट्रीय निवेश और इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर कोष (NIIF) के लिए इक्विटी में निवेश करेगा।
• NIIF, इस पूंजी का उपयोग देश में आर्थिक विकास का समर्थन करने और महत्वपूर्ण विकास चुनौतियों का सामना करने के लिए करेगा। यह वित्तपोषण, फंड के लिए फंड जुटाने के अंतिम दौर का हिस्सा है।
• DFC संयुक्त राज्य संघ सरकार का विकास वित्त संस्थान है, जो मुख्य रूप से निम्न और मध्यम आय वाले देशों में निजी विकास परियोजनाओं के वित्तपोषण और सुविधा प्रदान करने के लिए उत्तरदायी है।

Niti Aayog ने क्लाउड स्टोरेज सेवा Box DigiBoxx ’लॉन्च की

• NITI Aayog ने स्वदेशी रूप से विकसित भारत का पहला डिजिटल एसेट मैनेजमेंट और स्टोरेज प्लेटफॉर्म लॉन्च किया है, जिसे 'DigiBoxx' कहा जाता है। यह पहल प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के आत्मनिर्भर भारत ’के दृष्टिकोण को बढ़ावा देगी, क्योंकि भारत के पास अब अपना स्वयं का क्लाउड स्टोरेज प्लेटफॉर्म है।
• यह क्लाउड स्टोरेज और फाइल शेयरिंग सेवा डेस्कटॉप, आईओएस और एंड्रॉइड उपयोगकर्ताओं के लिए उपलब्ध होगी, जिसमें दोनों नियमित उपयोगकर्ताओं के साथ-साथ व्यवसाय भी शामिल हैं। Digiboxx में महज 30 रुपये में 20GB क्लाउड स्टोरेज स्पेस और हर महीने 100GB स्पेस दिया जाता है।

भारत का सबसे बड़ा हॉकी स्टेडियम ओडिशा में स्थापित किया जाएगा

• ओडिशा के मुख्यमंत्री, नवीन पटनायक ने घोषणा की है कि भारत का सबसे बड़ा हॉकी स्टेडियम ओडिशा के राउरकेला शहर में स्थापित किया जा रहा है। स्टेडियम का निर्माण बीजू पटनायक प्रौद्योगिकी विश्वविद्यालय, राउरकेला में किया जाएगा।
• इसमें 20,000 लोगों की बैठने की क्षमता होगी, जो 15 एकड़ भूमि में फैला होगा।
• स्टेडियम को दुनिया भर के अन्य हॉकी स्टेडियमों के लिए एक बेंचमार्क के रूप में विकसित किया जाएगा।
• यह ध्यान दिया जाना चाहिए कि ओडिशा एफआईएच पुरुष हॉकी विश्व कप की मेजबानी लगातार 2034 में, दो स्थानों, भुवनेश्वर और राउरकेला में करेगा।

गुड गवर्नेंस डे (सुशासन दिवस): 25 दिसम्बर

• भारत में, गुड गवर्नेंस डे (सुशासन दिवस) 25 दिसंबर को प्रतिवर्ष मनाया जाता है। इस दिन को राष्ट्र भारत रत्न और पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी की जयंती के रूप में मनाता है। यह दिन श्री वाजपेयी के सम्मान में साल 2014 में सरकार में जवाबदेही के लोगों के बीच जागरूकता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए स्थापित किया गया था।इस सिद्धांत को ध्यान में रखते हुए, सुशासन दिवस को सरकार के लिए कार्य दिवस घोषित किया गया है।
• अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी ने तीन बार भारत के प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया। 1996 में उनका पहला कार्यकाल केवल 13 दिनों के लिए था। उन्होंने मार्च 1998 से अप्रैल 1999 तक तेरह महीने की अवधि के लिए अपना दूसरा कार्यकाल और फिर 1999 से 2004 तक पूर्ण कार्यकाल दिया। संसद में उनका पहला प्रवेश 1962 में राज्य सभा के माध्यम से हुआ था। वह सात बार लोकसभा के लिए चुने गए। 2015 में, श्री वाजपेयी को भारत के सर्वोच्च नागरिक पुरस्कार भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया गया था।

RBI ने रद्द किया सुभद्रा लोकल एरिया बैंक, महाराष्ट्र का लाइसेंस

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने भारत में बैंकिंग व्यवसाय को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए सुभद्रा लोकल एरिया बैंक लिमिटेड (Subhadra Local Area Bank Ltd), कोल्हापुर, महाराष्ट्र को जारी किए गए बैंकिंग लाइसेंस को रद्द कर दिया है। रिज़र्व बैंक ने सुभद्रा लोकल एरिया बैंक लिमिटेड के लाइसेंस को रद्द कर दिया क्योंकि उसने वित्तीय वर्ष 2019-20 में दो तिमाहियों के लिए न्यूनतम निवल मूल्य की आवश्यकता का उल्लंघन किया था।
• सुभद्रा लोकल एरिया बैंक लिमिटेड के मामलों को इसके वर्तमान और भविष्य के जमाकर्ताओं के हितों के लिए हानिकारक तरीके से संचालित किया गया था. इसके बाद, भारत में केवल दो लोकल एरिया बैंक संचालित हैं, जैसे- कोस्टल लोकल एरिया बैंक लिमिटेड (Coastal Local Area Bank Ltd) और कृष्णा भीम समृद्धि एलएबी लिमिटेड (Krishna Bhima Samruddhi LAB Ltd)।

 भारत में 100 BFSI फर्मों में से HDFC बैंक शीर्ष पर

• विजिकी (Wizikey) द्वारा BFSI मूवर्स और शेकर्स 2020 रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, HDFC बैंक देश में 100 बैंकिंग, वित्तीय सेवाओं और बीमा (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance-BFSI) कंपनियों में शीर्ष स्थान पर है। महामारी के बीच HDFC बैंक ने अपनी ग्राहक सेवा, मौद्रिक प्रबंधन और नवीन पेशकशों के कारण शीर्ष स्थान प्राप्त किया है।
• ICICI बैंक और भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (SBI) क्रमशः दूसरे और तीसरे स्थान पर हैं। विजिकी (Wizikey) के BFSI मूवर्स और शेकर्स रिपोर्ट 2020 में अन्य शीर्ष 10 बैंकों में यस बैंक, PNB, HSBC बैंक, कोटक महिंद्रा बैंक, बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा, ड्यूश बैंक और IDBI हैं।

 Ind-Ra ने वित्त वर्ष (FY21) के लिए भारत के GDP अनुमान को किया संशोधित

• इंडिया रेटिंग्स एंड रिसर्च (Ind-Ra) ने चालू वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 (FY21) के लिए भारत के GDP अनुमान को संशोधित किया है, जो पहले अनुमानित -11.8 प्रतिशत से -7.8 प्रतिशत था। यह कम संकुचन दर मुख्य रूप से C-19 की सहजता और दूसरी तिमाही में बेहतर-से-अपेक्षित वसूली के कारण है।
• इंडस्ट्रीज़-रा ने भी 2021-22 (FY22) में सकल घरेलू उत्पाद का 9.6% बढ़ने का अनुमान लगाया है।

INTERNATIONAL

DFC to invest USD 54 million in India to support critical infrastructure projects

• The United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has announced to invest $54 million in India to support the development of critical infrastructure projects in the country in the wake of the C-19 pandemic. The DFC will invest this $54 million in equity for the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) in India.
• NIIF will use this capital to support economic growth and address critical development challenges in the country. This financing is part of NIIF’s final round of fund-raising for the fund.
• DFC is the development finance institution of the United States federal government, primarily responsible for providing and facilitating the financing of private development projects in lower- and middle-income countries.

Niti Aayog launches Cloud Storage Service ‘DigiBoxx’

• NITI Aayog has launched indigenously developed India’s first Digital Asset Management and Storage platform, called ‘DigiBoxx’. The initiative will give a boost to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, as India now has its own cloud storage platform.
• This cloud storage and file sharing service will be available for desktop, iOS, and Android users, including both regular users as well as businesses. Digiboxx offers free 20GB cloud storage space, and 100GB space per month at just Rs 30.

India’s largest hockey stadium to be set up in Odisha

• Odisha Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik has announced that India’s biggest hockey stadium is being set up in Rourkela city of Odisha. The stadium will be constructed in the Biju Patnaik University of Technology campus, Rourkela.
• It will have a sitting capacity of 20,000 people, spread over 15 acres of land.
• The stadium will be developed as a benchmark for other hockey stadiums around the world.
• It must be noted that Odisha will be hosting FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup for a second consecutive time, in 2034, at two venues, Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.

Good Governance Day: 25 December

• In India, Good Governance Day (Sushasan Divas) is observed annually on 25th December. In this day nation celebrates the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Good Governance Day was established in 2014 to honour Prime Minister Vajpayee by fostering awareness among the Indian people of accountability in government. In keeping with this principle, the Good Governance Day has been declared to be a working day for the government.
• Atal Bihari Vajpayee served as the Prime Minister of India for three times. His first term was for only 13 days in 1996. He served his second term for a period of thirteen months from March 1998 to April 1999 and then a full term from 1999 to 2004. His first entry into parliament was in 1962 through the Rajya Sabha. He was elected to the Lok Sabha seven times. In 2015, Mr Vajpayee was conferred the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award.

RBI cancels the Licence of the Subhadra Local Area Bank, Maharashtra

• The Reserve Bank of India has cancelled the banking licence issued to Subhadra Local Area Bank Ltd., Kolhapur, Maharashtra to carry on banking business in India. The Reserve Bank cancelled the licence of the Subhadra Local Area Bank Ltd as it had breached the minimum net worth requirement for two quarters in the financial year 2019-20.
• The affairs of the Subhadra Local Area Bank Ltd. were conducted in a manner detrimental to the interests of its present and future depositors. After this, there are only two Local Area Banks operational in India, i,e.– Coastal Local Area Bank Ltd and Krishna Bhima Samruddhi LAB Ltd.

 HDFC Bank ranks top among 100 BFSI Firms in India

• HDFC Bank is the top-ranked company among the 100 Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) companies in the country, as per the BFSI Movers and Shakers 2020 report by Wizikey. HDFC Bank has topped because of its customer service, monetary management, and innovative offerings amid the coronavirus pandemic.
• ICICI Bank and State Bank of India (SBI) are ranked second and third, respectively. Other top 10 banks in 2020 Wizikey’s BFSI Movers and Shakers report are Yes Bank, PNB, HSBC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Deutsche Bank, and IDBI.

 Ind-Ra revises India’s GDP contraction to 7.8% for FY21

• India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra) has revised India’s GDP estimate for the current financial year 2020-21 (FY21) to -7.8 per cent from -11.8 per cent estimated earlier.
• This lower contraction rate is mainly due to the easing of C-19 curbs and better-than-expected recovery in the second quarter. Ind-Ra has also estimated the GDP to grow by 9.6% in 2021-22 (FY22).
