इटली में भारत के यात्रियों के प्रवेश पर प्रतिबंध

• इटली ने C -19 वैरिएंट के प्रसार को रोकने के लिए भारत से यात्रा पर प्रतिबंध लगाकर अन्य देशों में शामिल हो गया है क्योंकि एशियाई देश संक्रमणों में वृद्धि से जूझ रहे हैं।
• इटली के स्वास्थ्य मंत्री रॉबर्टो स्पेरन्ज़ा ने ट्विटर पर कहा कि उन्होंने विदेशी यात्रियों को छोड़कर एक आदेश पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं जो पिछले 14 दिनों में देश में प्रवेश करने से पहले भारत में हैं।

19 वां भारत-फ्रांस नौसेना अभ्यास “वरुण” अरब सागर में शुरू हुआ

• भारतीय और फ्रांसीसी नौसेना के बीच होने वाला द्विपक्षीय अभ्यास 'वरुण -2021' का 19 वां संस्करण 25 से 27 अप्रैल, 2021 तक अरब सागर में आयोजित किया जाएगा। तीन दिनों तकक चलने वाले इस अभ्यास के दौरान, दोनों नौसेनाओं की टुकडियां समुद्र में उच्च गति-नौसेना संचालन करेंगी, जिसमें उन्नत वायु रक्षा और पनडुब्बी-रोधी अभ्यास, तीव्र फिक्स्ड और रोटरी विंग फ्लाइंग संचालन, सामरिक युद्धाभ्यास, सतह और वायु-रोधी हथियारों को चलाना, पुनःपूर्ति और अन्य समुद्री सुरक्षा संचालन शामिल होंगे।
• भारतीय नौसेना अभ्यास में अपने गाइडेड-मिसाइल स्टील्थ डिस्ट्रॉयर INS कोलकाता, गाइडेड-मिसाइल फ्रिगेट्स INS तरकश और INS तलवार, फ्लीट सपोर्ट शिप INS दीपक, सीकिंग 42B और चेतक इंटीग्रल हेलीकॉप्टर, कलवरी क्लास पनडुब्बी और P8I लॉन्ग रेंज मैरीटाइम पैट्रोल एयरक्राफ्ट के साथ हिस्सा लेगी।

न्यायमूर्ति मोहन एम शांतानागौदर का 62 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया

• मोहन एम शांतानागौदर का जन्‍म 1958 में हुआ था और वह 1980 में एक वकील के रूप में नामांकित हुए और उच्चतम न्यायालय के नौवें वरिष्ठतम न्यायाधीश थे।
• सुप्रीम कोर्ट के न्यायाधीश जस्टिस मोहन एम. शांतानागौदर का रविवार को गुरुग्राम के एक निजी अस्पताल में निधन हो गया।
• वह 62 वर्ष के थे। उन्हें फेफड़े की शिकायत बढ़ने पर मेदांता अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था और उन्हें गहन चिकित्सा इकाई में स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया था। इस बात की कोई आधिकारिक पुष्टि नहीं है कि जस्टिस शांतनगौदर का निधन C-19 से संबंधित था या नहीं।

हिंदुस्तानी शास्त्रीय गायक राजन मिश्रा का 70 वर्ष की उम्र में निधन हो गया

• प्रसिद्ध शास्त्रीय गायक और पद्म भूषण पुरस्कार से सम्मानित राजन मिश्रा का 25 अप्रैल, 2021 को दिल्ली के सेंट स्टीफन अस्पताल में निधन हो गया।
• उनकी उम्र 70 वर्ष थी। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने शोक व्यक्त करते हुए कहा, "उनका निधन कला और संगीत जगत के लिए एक अपूरणीय क्षति है।"

पूर्व एसएसबी प्रमुख अरुण चौधरी का 66 वर्ष की उम्र में निधन हो गया

• पूर्व सशस्त्र सीमा बल के प्रमुख अरुण चौधरी का C-19 के कारण निधन हो गया, वह 66 वर्ष के थे।
• बिहार कैडर के 1977 बैच के भारतीय पुलिस सेवा (IPS) अधिकारी, चौधरी ने लगभग दो दशक तक इंटेलिजेंस ब्यूरो (IB) में सेवा की, जहाँ उन्होंने जम्मू और कश्मीर डेस्क का नेतृत्व किया।
• अपने शुरुआती सेवा के दिनों में, उन्होंने अपने कैडर राज्य में विभिन्न पदों पर कार्य किया और केंद्रीय औद्योगिक सुरक्षा बल के साथ भी काम किया, जहाँ उन्होंने अपनी हवाई अड्डे की सुरक्षा इकाई का नेतृत्व किया।
• दिसंबर 2012 में, उन्हें एसएसबी का महानिदेशक नियुक्त किया गया और 30 अप्रैल 2014 को सेवा से सेवानिवृत्त कर दिया गया।

• प्रतिवर्ष 26 अप्रैल को विश्व स्तर पर विश्व बौद्धिक संपदा दिवस मनाया जाता है। इस दिन की शुरुआत विश्व बौद्धिक संपदा संगठन द्वारा वर्ष 2000 में दुनिया भर में "नवाचार और रचनामकता को बढ़ावा देने में बौद्धिक संपदा अधिकारों पेटेंट, कॉपीराइट, ट्रेडमार्क और डिज़ाइन की भूमिका के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाने और रोजमर्रा के जीवन पर रचनाकारों द्वारा समाज के विकास में किए गए योगदान को बढ़ावा देने के लिए की गई थी।
• विषय 2021: ‘Intellectual property and small businesses: Taking big ideas to market’.
• WIPO द्वारा 26 अप्रैल को विश्व बौद्धिक संपदा दिवस मनाए जाने की घोषणा, 1970 में विश्व बौद्धिक संपदा संगठन की स्थापना के लिए हुए कन्वेंशन को चिन्हित करने के लिए की गई थी।

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय प्रतिनिधि दिवस: 25 अप्रैल 2021

• प्रतिवर्ष 25 अप्रैल को विश्व स्तर पर International Delegate’s Day यानि अंतर्राष्ट्रीय प्रतिनिधि दिवस मनाया जाता है। यह दिवस संयुक्त राष्ट्र में सदस्य राष्ट्रों के प्रतिनिधियों की भूमिका के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए प्रतिवर्ष मनाया जाता है। अंतर्राष्ट्रीय प्रतिनिधि दिवस सैन फ्रांसिस्को सम्मेलन के पहले दिन की वर्षगांठ को चिह्नित करता है जिसे अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संगठन पर संयुक्त राष्ट्र सम्मेलन के रूप में भी जाना जाता है।
• सैन फ्रांसिस्को में 25 अप्रैल 1945 को पहली बार 50 देशों के प्रतिनिधि इकठ्ठा हुए थे। यह सम्मेलन द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध की तबाही के बाद आयोजित किया गया था। जिसका उद्देश्य प्रतिनिधियों द्वारा एक संगठन स्थापित करना था, जो विश्व में शांति बहाल करे और युद्ध के बाद के विश्व व्यवस्था पर नियम निर्धारित करे। संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा (UNGA) ने 2 अप्रैल 2019 को, दुनिया भर में 25 अप्रैल को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय प्रतिनिधि दिवस के रूप में मनाए जाने के लिए घोषित किया था।

विश्व मलेरिया दिवस (WMD) प्रत्येक वर्ष 25 अप्रैल को विश्व स्तर पर मनाया जाता है

• प्रतिवर्ष 25 अप्रैल को मलेरिया को नियंत्रित करने के लिए विश्व भर में लोगों द्वारा किए जा रहे प्रयासों को चिन्हित करने के लिए दुनिया भर विश्व मलेरिया दिवस (डब्लूएमडी) के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इस दिन की शुरुआत मई 2007 में विश्व स्वास्थ्य सभा के 60 वें सत्र में, WHO की निर्णय लेने वाली संस्था ने की थी। विश्व मलेरिया दिवस 2021 का विषय ‘Reaching the zero malaria target’ है।
• विश्व मलेरिया दिवस की शुरुआत अफ्रीका मलेरिया दिवस के रूप में हुई थी, जिसे पहली बार वर्ष 2008 में मनाया गया था। यह आम तौर पर मलेरिया के बारे जागरूक करने का एक अवसर है, जिसे वर्ष 2001 के बाद से अफ्रीकी सरकारों द्वारा मनाया जा रहा था। उन्होंने प्रगति के लक्ष्य को ध्याम में रखते हुए काम किया जिसका उद्देश्य मलेरिया को नियंत्रित करना और अफ्रीकी देशों में इसकी मृत्यु दर को घटाना था।

ऑस्कर 2021: क्लो झाओ 'नोमैडलैंड' के लिए सर्वश्रेष्ठ निर्देशक जीतने वाली दूसरी महिला बनीं

• क्लो झाओ ने अकादमी पुरस्कारों में इतिहास बनाया है। झाओ ने "नोमैडलैंड" के लिए सर्वश्रेष्ठ निर्देशक का ऑस्कर जीता, पुरस्कार जीतने वाली सिर्फ दूसरी महिला और रंगीन की पहली महिला बन गईं है।
• कैथरीन बिगेलो 2009 में "द हर्ट लॉकर" के लिए जीतने वाली पहली महिला थीं।
• ऑस्कर के इतिहास में यह एकमात्र वर्ष था जिसमें दो महिला नामित, झाओ और "प्रॉमिसिंग यंग वुमन" के निर्देशक एमराल्ड फेनेल थे। अभी तक केवल सात महिलाओं को नामांकित किया गया है।

Italy bans entry of travelers from India

• Italy has joined other countries by imposing restrictions on travel from India to avert the spread of a C-19 variant as the Asian nation struggles with a surge in infections.
• Italy's Health Minister Roberto Speranza said on Twitter he had signed an order barring foreign travellers who have been in India in the past 14 days from entering the country.
• India, which is facing a health crisis, is battling a "double mutant" strain of C-19. On Sunday, the country posted the world's highest single-day increase in cases for a fourth day.

NATIONAL

19th India-French Naval Exercise “VARUNA” begins in the Arabian Sea

• The 19th edition of the Indian and French Navy bilateral exercise ‘VARUNA-2021’ conducted in the Arabian Sea from 25 to 27 April 2021. During the three day exercise, the units of both the navies will undertake high tempo-naval operations at sea, which will include advanced air defence and anti-submarine exercises, intense fixed and rotary wing flying operations, tactical manoeuvres, surface and anti-air weapon firings, underway replenishment and other maritime security operations.
• The Indian Navy will participate with its guided-missile stealth destroyer INS Kolkata, guided-missile frigates INS Tarkash and INS Talwar, Fleet Support Ship INS Deepak, with Seaking 42B and Chetak integral helicopters, a Kalvari class submarine and P8I Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft.

OBITUARY

Justice Mohan M. Shantanagoudar passed away at 62

• He was born in 1958 and enrolled as an advocate in 1980 and was the ninth seniormost judge of the Supreme Court.
• Supreme Court judge Justice Mohan M. Shantanagoudar died at a private hospital in Gurugram on Sunday.
• He was 62. He was admitted to the Medanta Hospital on developing a lung complication and was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit. There is no official confirmation whether Justice Shantanagoudar’s demise was related to C-19.

Hindustani classical singer Rajan Mishra passed away at 70

• Rajan Mishra, renowned classical singer and a Padma Bhusan awardee, passed away on April 25, 2021, at St. Stephen hospital in Delhi.
• He was 70 years old. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences, “His passing away is an irreparable loss to the art and music world.”

Former SSB chief Arun Chaudhary passed away at 66

• Former Sashastra Seema Bal chief Arun Chaudhary has succumbed to coronavirus on Sunday. He was 66.
• A 1977-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Bihar cadre, Chaudhary served for nearly two decades in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) where he headed the Jammu and Kashmir desk.
• In his early service days, he served in various positions in his cadre state and also had a stint with the Central Industrial Security Force, where he headed its airport security unit.
• In December 2012, he was appointed director general of the SSB and retired from service on April 30, 2014.

World Intellectual Property Day: 26 April 2021

• World Intellectual Property Day is observed globally on April 26 every year. It was established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000 to “raise awareness of how patents, copyright, trademarks and designs impact on daily life” and “to celebrate creativity and the contribution made by creators and innovators to the development of societies across the world”.
• Theme 2021: ‘Intellectual property and small businesses: Taking big ideas to market’.
• WIPO proclaimed, 26 April was chosen as the date for World Intellectual Property Day because it coincides with the date on which the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization entered into force in 1970.

International Delegate’s Day: 25 April 2021

• International Delegate’s Day observed globally on 25 April every year. This day is observed to raise awareness of the role of the representatives and delegates of the Member States to the United Nations. International Delegate’s Day marks the anniversary of the first day of the San Francisco Conference which is also known as the United Nations Conference on International Organization.
• On 25 April 1945, delegates from 50 countries came together for the first time in San Francisco. The conference happened after the devastation of the second world war. The delegates aimed to set up an organization that would restore world peace and imposes rules on the post-war world order. On 2 April 2019, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 25 April as International Delegate’s Day.

World Malaria Day (WMD) is observed globally on 25 April each year

• The World Malaria Day (WMD) is observed globally on 25 April each year to recognize the efforts of the people worldwide to control malaria. The Day was established in May 2007 at the 60th session of the World Health Assembly, WHO’s the decision-making body. The theme of World Malaria Day 2021 is ‘Reaching the zero malaria target’.
• World Malaria Day was developed from Africa Malaria Day which was first held in 2008. It is basically an occasion that had been observed since 2001 by African governments. They worked towards the progress goal which aimed toward controlling malaria and reduces its mortality in African countries.

Oscars 2021: Chloe Zhao becomes second woman to win best director for 'Nomadland'

• Chloé Zhao has made history at the Academy Awards. Zhao won the Oscar for best director for "Nomadland," becoming just the second woman and the first woman of color to win the award.
• Kathryn Bigelow was the first woman to win, for "The Hurt Locker," in 2009.
• This was the only year in Oscar history with two female nominees, Zhao and "Promising Young Woman" director Emerald Fennell. Only seven women have ever been nominated.
