IIT-कानपुर ने लॉन्च किया टेक्नोलॉजी इनोवेशन हब

• भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान, कानपुर (IIT-K) ने एंटी-ड्रोन प्रौद्योगिकियों, घुसपैठ का पता लगाने वाली प्रणाली, ब्लॉक-चेन और साइबर-भौतिक प्रणालियों के लिए साइबर सुरक्षा समाधान खोजने के लिए पहला प्रौद्योगिकी नवाचार केंद्र लॉन्च किया है। कठोर आवेदन प्रक्रिया के बाद 13 स्टार्ट-अप और 25 अनुसंधान और विकास प्रमुख जांचकर्ताओं का चयन किया गया। साइबर सुरक्षा में डिजिटल संपत्ति की रक्षा करने और आम जनता के साथ-साथ सरकार और उद्योग के लिए समाधान तैनात करने के लिए बढ़ती हुई आवश्यकता के साथ अत्याधुनिक तकनीक मौजूद है।
• IIT कानपुर का C3i हब महत्वपूर्ण बुनियादी ढांचे सहित साइबर स्पेस की सुरक्षा पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेगा।” सरकार पड़ोसी देशों, विशेषकर चीन से बढ़ते खतरों का मुकाबला करने के लिए मेक-इन इंडिया साइबर सुरक्षा समाधानों को बढ़ावा दे रही है।

मध्य प्रदेश के दो शहर ओरछा और ग्वालियर यूनेस्को द्वारा चयनित

• मध्य प्रदेश राज्य में, ओरछा और ग्वालियर शहरों को यूनेस्को द्वारा अपनी 'ऐतिहासिक शहरी परिदृश्य परियोजना' के तहत चुना गया है। यह परियोजना वर्ष 2011 में शुरू की गई थी। मध्य प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान द्वारा वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से ओरछा और ग्वालियर शहरों के लिए यूनेस्को की ऐतिहासिक शहरी परिदृश्य परियोजना शुरू की गई थी।
• भारतीय शहर वाराणसी और अजमेर सहित दक्षिण एशिया के छह शहर पहले से ही इस परियोजना में शामिल हैं। ग्वालियर और ओरछा को दक्षिण एशिया के 7वें और 8वें शहरों के रूप में शामिल किया गया है।

रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने भारतीय सेना के स्कीइंग अभियान को हरी झंडी दिखाई

• रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने 10 मार्च से 6 जुलाई के बीच हिमालय पर्वत श्रृंखलाओं में आयोजित भारतीय सेना के स्कीइंग अभियान को हरी झंडी दिखाई। ARMEX-21 नामक इस अभियान को 10 मार्च को लद्दाख के काराकोरम दर्रे से हरी झंडी दिखाई गई और इसका समापन 119 दिनों में 1,660 किमी की दूरी तय करने के बाद 6 जुलाई को उत्तराखंड के मालरी में हुआ।
• ARMEX-21 को देश और भारतीय सेना में साहसिक गतिविधियों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए हिमालयी क्षेत्र की पर्वत श्रृंखलाओं में आयोजित किया गया था।" अभियान के दौरान, टीम ने 5,000-6,500 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर कई दर्रों और ग्लेशियरों, घाटियों और नदियों के माध्यम से यात्रा की।

खेल

मीराबाई चानू ने भारोत्तोलन महिला 49 किग्रा वर्ग में रजत पदत जीता

• मीराबाई चानू ने रजत पदक जीता और महिला 49 किग्रा वर्ग में 2020 टोक्यो खेलों में ओलंपिक पदक जीतने वाली पहली भारतीय बनीं। चीन की झिहुई होउ ने टोक्यो ओलंपिक में महिलाओं की 49 किग्रा भारोत्तोलन में कुल 210 किग्रा भार उठाकर स्वर्ण पदक जीता, जबकि इंडोनेशिया की विंडी केंटिका आयशा ने कांस्य पदक जीता।
• चानू महिलाओं के 49 किग्रा वर्ग में कुल 202 किग्रा भार उठाने में सफल रही और कर्णम मल्लेश्वरी के बाद ओलंपिक पदक जीतने वाली दूसरी भारतीय भारोत्तोलक बन गईं। मीराबाई चानू ने क्लीन एंड जर्क में 115 किग्रा की सफल लिफ्ट के साथ एक नया ओलंपिक रिकॉर्ड दर्ज किया।

भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ ने टोक्यो ओलंपिक के प्रायोजक के रूप में अडानी समूह को अनुबंधित किया

• भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ ने चल रहे टोक्यो खेलों में भारतीय दल के प्रायोजक के रूप में अदानी समूह को शामिल किया है। IOA के महासचिव राजीव मेहता, जो टोक्यो में हैं, ने इस विकास की घोषणा की।
• IOA ने पहले डेयरी दिग्गज अमूल, मोबाइल गेमिंग प्लेटफॉर्म MPL स्पोर्ट्स फाउंडेशन, JSW स्पोर्ट्स सहित कई निजी संस्थाओं के साथ प्रायोजन सौदे किए थे। IOA ने चीनी स्पोर्ट्सवियर ब्रांड ली निंग के टोक्यो ओलंपिक के लिए भारतीय टीम के आधिकारिक किट प्रायोजक के रूप में छोड़ने के बाद सौदों पर हस्ताक्षर किए थे और कहा था कि देश के एथलीट खेलों के दौरान गैर-ब्रांडेड परिधान पहनेंगे।

एन. बी. देवी को एआईएफएफ को 'वर्ष की महिला फुटबॉलर' 2020-21' नामित किया गया

• भारतीय महिला राष्ट्रीय टीम फॉरवर्ड, नंगंगोम बाला देवी को अखिल भारतीय फुटबॉल महासंघ (AIFF) की महिला फुटबॉलर ऑफ द ईयर 2020-21 के रूप में नामित किया गया है। बाला फिलहाल स्कॉटलैंड में रेंजर्स विमेंस एफसी के लिए खेलती हैं। वह फरवरी 2020 में टीम में शामिल हुई और पिछले वर्ष दिसंबर में अपना पहला प्रतिस्पर्धी गोल कर इतिहास रच दिया था। वह यूरोप में एक विदेशी क्लब के साथ एक पेशेवर अनुबंध पर हस्ताक्षर करने वाली पहली भारतीय महिला फुटबॉलर हैं।
• बाला मणिपुर U19 टीम का हिस्सा थीं, जिन्होंने 2002 में असम में अंडर -19 महिला चैम्पियनशिप में भाग लिया था, जहाँ उन्हें सर्वश्रेष्ठ खिलाड़ी घोषित किया गया था। उन्होंने भारत की महिला फुटबॉल चैंपियनशिप में मणिपुर सीनियर महिला फुटबॉल टीम का भी प्रतिनिधित्व किया है।

नियुक्ति एवं इस्‍तीफे

रश्मि आर. दास को संयुक्त राष्ट्र कर समिति में नियुक्त किया गया

• वित्त मंत्रालय के संयुक्त सचिव, रश्मी रंजन दास को 2021 से 2025 की अवधि के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र कर समिति के सदस्य के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। दास विश्‍व भर के कर विशेषज्ञों में शामिल हैं, जिन्हें संयुक्त राष्ट्र कर समिति के सदस्य के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। वह संयुक्त सचिव - (FT&TR-I), केंद्रीय प्रत्यक्ष कर बोर्ड, राजस्व विभाग, वित्त मंत्रालय हैं।
• औपचारिक रूप से कर मामलों में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सहयोग पर विशेषज्ञों की संयुक्त राष्ट्र समिति के रूप में जाना जाता है, यह समिति देशों के प्रयासों को मजबूत और दूरंदेशी कर नीतियों को आगे बढ़ाने में मदद करती है, जो एक डिजिटल अर्थव्यवस्था, वैश्वीकृत व्यापार और निवेश तथा लगातार बिगड़ते पर्यावरण क्षरण की वास्तविकताओं के अनुरूप अनुकूलित हैं।
• यह देशों को दोहरे या एकाधिक कराधान के साथ-साथ गैर-कराधान को रोकने, उनके कर आधार को व्यापक बनाने, उनके कर प्रशासन को मजबूत करने और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कर चोरी और परिहार को रोकने के उनके प्रयासों में सहायता करता है।

बैंकिंग और अर्थव्यवस्था

RBI ने अन्य बैंकों के निदेशकों को 5 करोड़ रुपये तक के ऋण की अनुमति दी

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने अन्य बैंकों के निदेशकों और निदेशकों के रिश्तेदारों को ऋण देने के नियमों में बदलाव किया है। संशोधनों के अनुसार, केंद्रीय बैंक ने बैंकों को बोर्ड की मंजूरी के बिना पति-पत्नी के अलावा अन्य बैंकों के निदेशकों और निदेशकों के रिश्तेदारों के लिए 5 करोड़ रुपये तक के व्यक्तिगत ऋण का विस्तार करने की अनुमति दी है। ऐसे ऋणों की पहले की सीमा 25 लाख रुपये थी।
• ये नियम अन्य बैंकों के अध्यक्ष/प्रबंध निदेशक, किसी भी फर्म जिसमें वे भागीदार या गारंटर के रूप में रुचि रखते हैं, या किसी भी कंपनी जिसमें वे पर्याप्त रुचि रखते हैं या निदेशक या गारंटर के रूप में रुचि रखते हैं, सहित निदेशकों पर लागू होते हैं। व्यक्तिगत ऋण व्यक्तियों को दिए गए ऋणों को संदर्भित करता है और इसमें उपभोक्ता ऋण, शिक्षा ऋण, अचल संपत्ति जैसे घरों के निर्माण या वृद्धि के लिए दिए गए ऋण और वित्तीय परिसंपत्तियों में निवेश के लिए दिए गए ऋण, जैसे शेयर, डिबेंचर आदि शामिल हैं।

IIT-Kanpur launched technology innovation hub

• Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) has launched the first technology innovation hub to find cybersecurity solutions for anti-drones technologies, intrusion detection systems, block-chain and cyber-physical systems. The presence of cutting-edge technology in cybersecurity is accompanied by an increasing need to protect digital assets and deploy solutions for the common public as well as government and industry.
• IIT Kanpur’s C3i hub will focus on safeguarding cyberspace including critical infrastructure.” The government is promoting Make-in India cybersecurity solutions to counter rising threats from neighbouring countries, particularly China.

Two cities of Madhya Pradesh, Orchha and Gwalior selected by UNESCO

• Madhya Pradesh, the cities of Orchha and Gwalior have been selected by UNESCO under its ‘Historic Urban Landscape Project.’ This project was started in the year 2011. UNESCO’s Historic Urban Landscape project for the cities of Orchha and Gwalior was launched through video conferencing by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
• Six cities of South Asia, including the Indian cities of Varanasi and Ajmer, are already involved in this project. Gwalior and Orchha have been included as the 7th and 8th cities of South Asia.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh flagged in the Indian Army’s skiing expedition

• Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has flagged in the Indian Army’s skiing expedition that was conducted in the Himalayan mountain ranges between March 10 and July 6. The expedition, called ARMEX-21, was flagged off at Karakoram Pass in Ladakh on March 10 and culminated at Malari in Uttarakhand on July 6 covering 1,660 km in 119 days.
• The ARMEX-21 was conducted in the mountain ranges of the Himalayan region to promote the adventure activity in the country and the Indian Army,” it stated. During the expedition, the team travelled through several passes at a height of 5,000-6,500 meters and through glaciers, valleys and rivers.

SPORTS

Mirabai Chanu wins Silver in weightlifting Women’s 49kg category

• Mirabai Chanu won the silver medal and became the first Indian to win an Olympic medal at the 2020 Tokyo Games in the Women’s 49kg category. China’s Zhihui Hou won the gold medal in the women’s 49-kg weightlifting at the Tokyo Olympics, lifting a total of 210 kg, while Indonesia’s Windy Cantika Aisah won the bronze medal.
• Chanu managed to lift a total of 202 kg in the women’s 49kg category to become the second Indian weightlifter after Karnam Malleswari to win an Olympic medal. A new Olympic record was registered by Mirabai Chanu with a successful lift of 115kg in clean and jerk.

Indian Olympic Association roped in Adani Group as sponsor for Tokyo Olympics

• Indian Olympic Association has roped in Adani Group as a sponsor for the Indian contingent at the ongoing Tokyo Games. Indian Olympic Association secretary general Rajiv Mehta, who is in Tokyo, announced the development.
• The IOA had earlier entered into sponsorship deals with various private entities, including dairy giant Amul, mobile gaming platform MPL Sports Foundation, JSW Sports among others. IOA had inked the deals after dropping Chinese sportswear brand Li Ning as the Indian team’s official kit sponsor for the Tokyo Olympics and stating that the country’s athletes will wear unbranded apparel during the Games.

 B. Devi named AIFF ‘Women’s Footballer of the Year’ 2020-21

• Indian Women’s National Team Forward, Ngangom Bala Devi has been named as the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Women’s Footballer of the Year 2020-21. Bala currently plays for Rangers Women’s FC in Scotland. She made her debut for the team in February 2020 and created history as she scored her first competitive goal for the side in December last year. She is the first Indian woman footballer to sign a professional contract with an overseas club in Europe.
• Bala was a part of the Manipur U19 team that took part in the Under-19 Women’s Championship in Assam in 2002, where she was declared the best player. She has also represented the Manipur Senior Women’s Football Team in the India women’s football championship.

Rashmi R. Das appointed to UN Tax Committee

• The joint secretary of the Finance Ministry, Rasmi Ranjan Das has been appointed to the UN tax committee as a member for the term period 2021 to 2025. Das is among the tax experts from around the world who has been appointed as a member of the UN tax committee. She is Joint Secretary – (FT&TR-I), Central Board of Direct Taxes, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.
• Formally known as the UN Committee of Experts on International Cooperation in Tax Matters, this committee helps the countries’ efforts to advance stronger and forward-looking tax policies which are adapted to suit the realities of a digitalised economy, globalised trade and investment and the ever-worsening environmental degradation.
• It assists countries in their efforts to prevent double or multiple taxations as well as non-taxation, broaden their tax base, strengthen their tax administrations, and curb international tax evasion and avoidance.

BANKING AND ECONOMY

RBI allowed loans up to Rs 5 cr to other banks’ directors

• Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has overhauled rules for extending loans to directors of other banks and relatives of directors. As per the amendments, the central bank has allowed banks to extend personal loans up to ₹5 crores to directors of other banks and directors’ relatives other than spouses without board approval. The earlier limit for such loans was ₹25 lakh.
• The regulations apply to directors, including the Chairman/Managing Director, of other banks, any firm in which they are interested as a partner or guarantor, or any company in which they hold substantial interest or is interested as a director or as a guarantor. Personal loans refer to loans given to individuals and consist of consumer credit, education loans, loans given for the creation or enhancement of immovable assets like houses, and loans given for investment in financial assets, such as shares, debentures, etc.
