नीति आयोग ने  परियोजना शुरू करने के लिए "भारत में निर्बाध परिवहन"

• नीति आयोग ने भारत के लिए एक निम्न-कार्बन परिवहन प्रणाली की ओर एक मार्ग विकसित करने के उद्देश्य के साथ, "भारत में Decarbonising Transport" परियोजना के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय परिवहन मंच (ITF) के साथ सहयोग किया है।
• यह प्रोजेक्ट 24 जून, 2020 को YouTube लाइवस्ट्रीम पर ऑनलाइन लॉन्च किया जाएगा, जिसे https://youtu.be/l2G5x5RdBUM पर एक्सेस किया जा सकता है। "भारत में डिक्रबोनिज़िंग ट्रांसपोर्ट" परियोजना सरकार को वर्तमान की विस्तृत समझ प्रदान करेगी। और भविष्य की परिवहन गतिविधि और उनके निर्णय लेने के आधार के रूप में संबंधित CO2 उत्सर्जन।
• भारत 2008 से परिवहन नीति के लिए ITFis पेरिस, फ्रांस स्थित अंतर सरकारी संगठन ITF का सदस्य रहा है। यह परियोजना ITF के "डिमार्किंग ट्रांसपोर्टिंग इन इमर्जिंग इकोनॉमीज़" (DTEE) परियोजनाओं का परिवार है, जो विभिन्न विश्व क्षेत्रों में परिवहन डीकार्बोनाइजेशन का समर्थन करता है। 

भारत की मौजूदा प्रतिक्रिया को बढ़ाने के लिए फ्रांस ने भारत के लिए 200 मिलियन यूरो का ऋण दिया

• फ्रांस ने भारत की C -19 प्रतिक्रिया को बढ़ावा देने के लिए भारत के साथ 200 मिलियन यूरो के ऋण समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। ऋण समझौते के साथ, फ्रांस का लक्ष्य C -19 संकट के मद्देनजर भारत के सबसे कमजोर लोगों का समर्थन करने के लिए राज्य और केंद्र सरकारों की क्षमताओं को बढ़ाना है।
• विश्व बैंक ने भारत द्वारा मौजूदा सामाजिक सुरक्षा उपायों का अनुकूलन और विस्तार करने के लिए भारतीय अधिकारियों के साथ मिलकर कार्यक्रम डिजाइन विकसित किया है। 

भारत-चीन टकराव के बीच भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों को दी गई आपातकालीन निधि

• केंद्र सरकार ने भारत-चीन सीमा पर सीमा के बीच हथियारों और गोला-बारूद के अधिग्रहण के लिए सभी तीन सशस्त्र सेवाओं को आपातकालीन धनराशि प्रदान की है।
• प्रति खरीद परियोजना के लिए 500 करोड़ रुपये की धनराशि दी गई है। इसके अलावा, हथियारों और सैन्य उपकरणों की खरीद के लिए सशस्त्र बलों को विशेष वित्तीय अधिकार दिए गए हैं।

पूर्व क्रिकेटर राजिंदर गोयल का निधन

• पूर्व बाएं हाथ के स्पिनर राजिंदर गोयल का निधन हो गया, उन्होंने हरियाणा राज्य के लिए 157 प्रथम श्रेणी मैच खेले थे और स्पिनर के रूप में 750 विकेट लिए थे।
• राजिंदर गोयल ने 1957-58 सीज़न के दौरान अपनी शुरुआत की और उन्होंने 44 साल की उम्र में घरेलू क्रिकेट खेला। इसके साथ ही बीसीसीआई (भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड) ने सीके नायडू लाइफटाइम अचीवमेंट अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया था। 

वीर चक्र अवार्डी, मेजर जनरल लछमन सिंह लेहल का निधन

• वीर चक्र से सम्मानित सेवानिवृत्त जनरल लछमन सिंह लेहल का 97 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया है।
• भारत – पकिशन 1971 युद्ध के दौरान, लछमन सिंह भारतीय सेना के 20 माउंटेन डिवीजन के जनरल ऑफिसर कमांडिंग (GOC) थे। 1974 में, डिप्टी क्वार्टरमास्टर जनरल के रूप में, उन्हें नई दिल्ली स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया।

विश्व एथलेटिक्स लॉरेंट बोक्विलेट को वैश्विक विकास के नए प्रमुख के रूप में नियुक्त किया

• विश्व एथलेटिक्स ने 22 जून को घोषणा की कि लॉरेंट बोक्विलेट को वैश्विक विकास प्रमुख के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। विश्व एथलेटिक्स ने उल्लेख किया कि नई स्थिति को पूर्ण करने के लिए वैश्विक खोज जनवरी 2020 में आयोजित की गई थी।
• ग्लोबल डेवलपमेंट के प्रमुख की नई स्थिति शरीर की दृष्टि का समर्थन करती है जो एक स्वस्थ और फिटर दुनिया बनाने के लिए एथलेटिक्स और हमारे एथलीटों की शक्ति और पहुंच का उपयोग करने के लिए है।
• लॉरेंट बोक्विलेट ने अपना पूरा करियर एथलेटिक्स में, विविध भूमिकाओं में और हाल ही में यूरोपीय एथलेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप पेरिस 2020 के सीईओ के रूप में बिताया। 

नीरकर प्रधान बने PRMIA के नए प्रमुख

डॉ. नीरकर प्रधान को नए भारतीय कार्यालय पेशेवर जोखिम प्रबंधकों के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संघ (Professional Risk Managers’ International Association) का नया मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी नियुक्त किया है। प्रधान ने भारतीय स्टेट बैंक और भारत और यूरोप में जेनरल ग्रुप की टीमों का नेतृत्व किया है।

PRMIA एक गैर-लाभकारी संगठन है जो व्यावसायिक जोखिम प्रबंधकों का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संघ एक पेशेवर संगठन है जो "विश्व स्तर पर ध्वनि जोखिम प्रबंधन मानकों और प्रथाओं के प्रचार", और "अभ्यास और सिद्धांत का एकीकरण" पर केंद्रित है। यह सरकार, भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक, भारतीय स्टेट बैंक, पंजाब नेशनल बैंक और एचएसबीसी सहित अन्य के प्रशिक्षण और प्रमाणन पर ध्यान केन्द्रित करता है।

अमेरिकी सरकारी प्रतिभूतियां रखने के लिहाज से भारत का 12वां स्थान

भारत के पास अप्रैल के अंत में 157.4 अरब अमेरिकी डॉलर की अमेरिकी सरकारी प्रतिभूतियों थीं, जिसके साथ वह इन प्रतिभूतियों का 12वां सबसे बड़ा धारक बन गया। अमेरिकी वित्त विभाग के आंकड़ों के मुताबिक भारत के पास ये प्रतिभूतियां मार्च में घटकर 156.5 अरब डालर रह गईं थीं, लेकिन अप्रैल में यह 0.9 अरब डॉलर बढ़कर 157.4 अरब डॉलर हो गईं।  वायरस महामारी के चलते वैश्विक आर्थिक अनिश्चितता के बीच भारत द्वारा इस साल अमेरिकी प्रतिभूतियों की खरीद-फरोख्त में कोई खास रुझान देखने को नहीं मिला है। भारत के पास प्रतिभूतियों का अधिकतम स्तर फरवरी में जब रिजर्व बैंक के पास अमेरिका की 177.5 अरब डॉलर की सरकारी प्रतिभूतियां जमा हो गयी थीं। जनवरी में यह आंकड़ा 164.3 अरब डॉलर था। आंकड़ों के मुताबिक अप्रैल के अंत में जापान के पास सबसे अधिक 1266 अरब डॉलर की अमेरिकी प्रतिभूतियां थीं, जिसके बाद 1,073 अरब डॉलर के साथ चीन और 368.5 अरब डॉलर के साथ ब्रिटेन का स्थान था।

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विधवा दिवस: 23 जून

प्रत्‍येक वर्ष 23 जून को विश्व स्तर पर International Widows Day यानि अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विधवा दिवस मनाया जाता है। यह दिन व्यापक रूप से विधवाओं की आवाज़ों और उन्हें होने वाले अनुभवों पर ध्यान आकर्षित करने और उनके द्वारा किए जाने वाले अद्वितीय समर्थन को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए जाना जाता है। आज भी विधवाए अपने जीवन साथी को खोने के बाद दुनिया भर में कई महिलाएं चुनौतियों का सामना करती हैं और बुनियादी जरूरतों, उनके मानवीय अधिकार और सम्मान के लिए लंबे समय तक संघर्ष करती हैं। 

विश्व हाइड्रोग्राफी दिवस: 21 जून

World Hydrography Day: प्रत्‍येक वर्ष 21 जून को विश्व स्तर पर विश्व हाइड्रोग्राफी दिवस मनाया जाता है। इस दिन को इंटरनेशनल हाइड्रोग्राफिक ऑर्गेनाइजेशन (IHO) द्वारा हाइड्रोग्राफर्स के काम और हाइड्रोग्राफी के महत्व को प्रचारित करने के लिए एक वार्षिक उत्सव के रूप में अपनाया गया था।

विश्व हाइड्रोग्राफी दिवस 2020 थीम है “Hydrography enabling autonomous technologies”.

NITI Aayog to launch project “Decarbonising Transport in India”

• NITI Aayog has collaborated with International Transport Forum (ITF) for “Decarbonising Transport in India” project, with the aim to develop a pathway towards a low-carbon transport system for India.
• The project will be launched online on 24 June, 2020, at YouTube livestream, which can be accessed at https://youtu.be/l2G5x5RdBUM.The “Decarbonising Transport in India” project will provide the government with a detailed understanding of current and future transport activity and the related CO2 emissions as a basis for their decision-making.
• ITFis Paris, France based intergovernmental organisation for transport policy. India has been a member of ITF since 2008.The project is part of the ITF’s “Decarbonising Transport in Emerging Economies” (DTEE) family of projects, which supports transport decarbonisation across different world regions. 

France commits 200 million Euros loan for India to scale up Government’s existing response

• France has signed a loan agreement of 200-million-euros with India to boost India’s C-19 response. With the loan agreement, France aims to increase the state and central governments’ capacities to support India’s most vulnerable people in the wake of the C-19 crisis.
• World Bank has developed the programme design in collaboration with the Indian authorities to optimize and expand the existing social protection measures taken by India.

 Emergency funds granted to Indian armed forces amid Indo-China clash

• Central government has granted emergency funds to all the three armed services to acquire arms and ammunition amid the border standoff at Indo-China border.
• The funds of Rs 500 crore are granted for per procurement project. Moreover, special financial powers have been granted to armed forces for procurement of weapons and military equipment. 

Obituary

Rajinder Goel, highest wicket-taker in Ranji Trophy, passes away at 77

• The legendary first-class cricketer player, Rajinder Goel, who holds the record for most wickets in the history of Ranji Trophy, has passed away due to age related issues. He was 77.
• In all, the left-arm spinner took 750 wickets, in 157 first-class matches which he played.

 Major General (Retd) Lachhman Singh Lehl passes away

• Major General (Retd) Lachhman Singh Lehl passed away. He was one of India’s finest military brains and one of its last surviving officers to have taken part in both the 1948 and 1971 wars.
• He was commissioned in the Regiment of Artillery in 1943.

World Athletics appoints Laurent Boquillet as new Head of Global Development

• World Athletics on June 22 announced that Laurent Boquillet has been appointed as the Head of Global Development. World Athletics mentioned that the global search to fill out the new position was conducted in January 2020.
• The new position of Head of Global Development supports the body’s vision which is ‘to use the power and accessibility of athletics and our athletes to create a healthier and fitter world.
• Laurent Boquillet spent his entire career in athletics, in a diverse range of roles and most recently as the CEO of the European Athletics Championships Paris 2020. 

Nirakar Pradhan becomes new chief of PRMIA

• Dr Nirakar Pradhan has appointed as new as the Chief Executive Officer of the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA) of its new India office.
• Pradhan has led teams at State Bank of India and Generali Group in India and Europe.

India becomes 12th largest US govt securities holder

• India has become the 12th largest holder of US government securities at the end of April 2020 with a holding worth USD 157.4 billion. The US Treasury Department data showed that after significantly reducing the exposure in March to USD 156.5 billion, India marginally hiked the holding by USD 0.9 billion to USD 157.4 billion the next month.
• While India’s holding touched a record high of USD 177.5 billion in February, the same was drastically reduced in March. The exposure had stood at USD 164.3 billion in January. At the end of April, Japan remained the country with the maximum exposure at USD 1.27 trillion, followed by China at USD 1.1 trillion and the UK at USD 368.5 billion.

World Hydrography Day

• World Hydrography Day is observed globally on 21st June every year. This day was adopted by the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) as an annual celebration to publicise the work of hydrographers and the importance of hydrography.
• World Hydrography Day 2020 theme is “Hydrography enabling autonomous technologies”.
