• कर्नाटक के राजस्व विभाग की सर्वेक्षण निपटान और भूमि अभिलेख (एसएसएलआर) इकाई दिशांक नामक ऐप के माध्यम से मूल भूमि अभिलेखों की आसान उपलब्धता सुनिश्चित कर रही है। दिशांक ऐप को कर्नाटक राज्य रिमोट सेंसिंग एप्लीकेशन सेंटर (केएसआरएसएसी) के भौगोलिक सूचना प्रणाली (जीआईएस) कार्यक्रम के तहत विकसित किया गया है। केएसआरएसएसी अभिनव उपयोग के लिए एसएसएलआर इकाई जैसी एजेंसियों को उपग्रह डेटा प्रदान करता है। दिशांक भूमि परियोजना के तहत भूमि रिकॉर्ड को डिजिटल बनाने के कर्नाटक के फैसले का लाभ उठाते हैं।

भारत का आयुध निर्माणी दिवस 2022: 18 मार्च

• आयुध निर्माण दिवस प्रतिवर्ष 18 मार्च को मनाया जाता है। भारत की सबसे पुरानी आयुध निर्माण, जो कोलकाता के कोसीपोर में है, का उत्पादन 18 मार्च, 1802 को शुरू किया गया था। ओएफबी विश्‍व का 37वां सबसे बड़ा रक्षा उपकरण निर्माता है, एशिया में दूसरा सबसे बड़ा और भारत में सबसे बड़ा है।
• पूरे भारत में प्रदर्शनियों में राइफल, बंदूकें, तोपखाने, गोला-बारूद आदि प्रदर्शित करके इस दिन को मनाया जाता है। समारोह की शुरुआत परेड से होती है और प्रदर्शनी में विभिन्न पर्वतारोहण अभियानों की तस्वीरें भी प्रदर्शित की जाएंगी।

• ग्लोबल कंसल्टिंग फर्म डेलॉइट की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार "रिटेलिंग 2022 की वैश्विक शक्तियां: चुनौतियों के बावजूद लचीलापन", भारतीय ब्रांड, रिलायंस रिटेल, वित्त वर्ष 2020 के लिए खुदरा राजस्व वृद्धि के आधार पर शीर्ष 250 की सूची में 56 वें स्थान पर है। वॉलमार्ट इंक, एक अमेरिकी बहुराष्ट्रीय खुदरा निगम, सूची में सबसे ऊपर है, इसके बाद अमेज़ॅन, इंक, कॉस्टको होलसेल कॉर्पोरेशन, श्वार्ज ग्रुप और द होम डिपो, इंक है।

महिला मनी, वीजा और ट्रांसकॉर्प ने महिला उद्यमियों के लिए प्रीपेड कार्ड लॉन्च किया

• डिजिटल भुगतान नेटवर्क महिला मनी, वीजा और ट्रांसकॉर्प प्रीपेड पेमेंट इंस्ट्रूमेंट्स (पीपीआई) ने महिला उद्यमियों को आसानी से भुगतान, ऋण एकत्र करने और लेनदेन के लिए प्रोत्साहन प्राप्त करने में मदद करने के लिए महिला मनी प्रीपेड कार्ड लॉन्च किया है। प्रीपेड कार्ड को डिजिटल उद्यमियों, छोटे कारोबारियों और महिलाओं की जरूरतों को ध्यान में रखते हुए डिजाइन किया गया है।

• भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (SBI) हैदराबाद, तेलंगाना में एक इनोवेशन, इनक्यूबेशन और एक्सेलेरेशन सेंटर (IIAC) स्थापित करेगा, जो एक सलाहकार के ऑन-बोर्डिंग के छह से नौ महीने में चालू हो जाएगा। यह केंद्र अपने वर्तमान प्रदर्शन को बढ़ाने और नवाचार के माध्यम से उच्च शीर्ष-पंक्ति विकास को चलाने के लिए बैंक की आंतरिक क्षमता होगी। यह बैंक को नए उत्पादों और सेवाओं की शुरूआत के लिए प्रौद्योगिकियों, ज्ञान और कौशल का एक सेट विकसित करने में मदद करेगा। यह फिन-टेक साझेदारी को संचालित करने और चलाने और पूरे बैंक में बदलाव को लागू करने के लिए एक केंद्रीय निकाय के रूप में कार्य करेगा।

• IIT मद्रास इनक्यूबेशन सेल (IITMIC) और RBI इनोवेशन हब (RBIH), भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक की पूर्ण स्वामित्व वाली सहायक कंपनी ने भारत में फिनटेक व्यवसायों का समर्थन और विस्तार करने के लिए आवश्यक पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र की स्थापना में सहयोग करने के लिए बुधवार को एक समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए। दोनों संगठन शुरुआती स्तर के उद्यमियों को अद्वितीय और विघटनकारी विचारों के साथ ऊष्मायन समर्थन देने और उनकी स्केल-अप यात्रा को गति देने के लिए सहयोग करेंगे।

With Dishaank app, land survey records at click of a button

• The Survey Settlement and Land Records (SSLR) unit of Karnataka’s revenue department is ensuring easy availability of original land records through an app called Dishaank. The Dishaank app is developed under the Geographical Information System (GIS) program of the Karnataka State Remote Sensing Applications Center (KSRSAC). The KSRSAC provides satellite data to agencies such as the SSLR unit for innovative use. Dishaank leverages Karnataka’s decision to digitize land records under the Bhoomi project.
• Citizens can easily avail themselves of the information about the land as recorded in the Bhoomi database. This will help in reducing land disputes and will bring transparency in the maintenance of land records. However, according to the Karnataka government, the Dishaank app’s purpose is only to provide clarity on the original status of land and the app should not be used for legal purposes in any land-related disputes.

 36th International Geological Congress to be held in New Delhi

• On a virtual platform, the 36th International Geological Congress (IGC) will be placed here on March 20-22, 2022, with the topic Geosciences: The Basic Science for a Sustainable Future. The 36th International Geophysical Congress is a collaboration between the Ministries of Mines and Earth Sciences, the Indian National Science Academy, and the Science Academies of Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
• Union Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Pralhad Joshi and Minister of State Science & Technology; Minister of State Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space Dr Jitendra Singh are expected to inaugurate the Congress.
• The event would provide a one-of-a-kind forum for Geoscience knowledge and experience sharing, as well as professional networking.

Flipkart Health+ names former Apollo Health exec Prashant Jhaveri as CEO

• Flipkart Health+ announced the appointment of Prashant Jhaveri as its new CEO. He will be in charge of Flipkart’s entry into India’s fast-growing healthcare sector. Jhaveri was the CEO of Apollo Health and Lifestyle Limited and MediBuddy before joining Flipkart Health+. Earlier in his career, he worked with Medi Assist Group as the chief business officer.

India’s Ordnance Factories’ Day 2022: 18th March

• The Ordnance Factories’ Day is observed on the 18th of March every year. The production of India’s oldest Ordnance Factory, which is at Cossipore of Kolkata, was started on the 18th of March, 1802. OFB is the 37th largest defence equipment manufacturer in the world, 2nd largest in Asia, and the largest in India.
• The day is celebrated by displaying the rifles, guns, artillery, ammunition etc in exhibitions all over India. The celebrations start with a parade and the exhibition will also display the photographs of various mountaineering expeditions.

Reliance Retail Ranked 56th & Walmart Inc Tops the List

• According to the global consulting firm Deloitte’s report titled “Global Powers of Retailing 2022: Resilience Despite Challenges”, The Indian brand, Reliance Retail, ranked 56th on the Top 250 list based on the retail revenue growth for FY2020. Walmart Inc., an American multinational retail corporation, tops the list, followed by Amazon, Inc., Costco Wholesale Corporation, Schwarz Group, and The Home Depot, Inc.
• China’s JD.com, Inc tops the list of companies from APAC, ranking 9th amongst the list with total revenue of around USD 94.4 billion. Japan leads the APAC region with 29 companies on the list followed by China/Hong Kong SAR (14), South Korea (5) and Australia (4).
• The top 5 fastest-growing retailers in FY2019 were Coupang of South Kore a(1st), Reliance Retail Limited of India (2nd), Wayfair Inc of United States (3rd), Mobile World Investment Corporation of Vietnam (4th) and A101 Yeni Mağazacılık A.S from Turkey (5th).

Mahila Money and Visa Team Up to support women entrepreneurs with Mahila Money Prepaid Card

• The digital payments network Mahila Money, Visa, and Transcorp Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPI) have launched Mahila Money Prepaid Card to help women entrepreneurs easily collect payments, loans and get incentives for transactions. The prepaid card has been designed keeping in mind the needs of digital entrepreneurs, small business owners and women.
• The card is for community members who want the convenience of a bank account with added flexibility, safety and convenience. This collaboration will pave the way to economic freedom and financial inclusion for millions of women entrepreneurs.

 SBI to set up Innovation, Incubation and Acceleration Centre

• The State Bank of India (SBI) will set up an Innovation, Incubation, and Acceleration Centre (IIAC) at Hyderabad, Telangana which will be operational in six to nine months of on-boarding a consultant. This Centre will be the bank’s in-house capability to enhance its current performance and drive higher top-line growth through innovation. It will help the bank to develop a set of technologies, knowledge, and skills for the introduction of new products and services. It will act as a central body to govern and drive fin-tech partnerships and implement change across the bank.

IIT Madras Incubation Cell and RBI Innovation Hub come together to nurture financial inclusion

• IIT Madras Incubation Cell (IITMIC) and RBI Innovation Hub (RBIH), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Reserve Bank of India, inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in establishing the ecosystem needed to support and expand fintech businesses in India. The two organisations will collaborate to give early-stage entrepreneurs with unique and disruptive ideas with incubation support and speed their scale-up journey.
• “India’s startup ecosystem contributes significantly to the country’s economic prosperity.” We seek to create a robust ecosystem conducive to the growth of fintech start-ups in the country through such incubation collaborations,” Rajesh Bansal, CEO of RBI Innovation Hub (RBIH), said.
• RBIH will consider select startups incubated at IITM Incubation Cell for co-incubation from time to time, and they will receive strategic and operational guidance, as well as training and mentoring sessions from RBIH leadership and domain experts, market access, and connections to a larger ecosystem of startups, vendors, investors, and other resources.

ICICI Bank launches co-branded credit cards with Emirates Skywards

• In collaboration with Emirates Skywards, the loyalty programme of Emirates and flydubai, ICICI Bank created the ‘Emirates Skywards ICICI Bank Credit Card’.
