• अंतरिक्ष में पहली फिल्म की शूटिंग के दृश्यों को फिल्माने के बाद एक रूसी फिल्म चालक दल पृथ्वी पर वापस आ गया है। क्लिम शिपेंको और एक्ट्रेस यूलिया पेरसिल्ड ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अंतरिक्ष स्टेशन छोड़ दिया और कजाकिस्तान में उतर कर टचडाउन दृश्यों को फिल्माने वाले एक दल से मिले। टॉम क्रूज के साथ फिल्म अपनी तरह की अंतरिक्ष दौड़ में है। वह स्पष्ट रूप से नासा और एलोन मस्क के स्पेसएक्स से जुड़े एक हॉलीवुड फिल्मांकन-इन-स्पेस प्रोजेक्ट का हिस्सा हैं।
• फिल्म निर्माताओं ने इस महीने की शुरुआत में कजाकिस्तान में रूस द्वारा पट्टे पर दिए गए बैकोनूर कोस्मोड्रोम से विस्फोट किया था, अनुभवी अंतरिक्ष यात्री एंटोन श्काप्लेरोव के साथ आईएसएस की यात्रा "द चैलेंज " के फिल्म दृश्यों के लिए की थी।

 श्रीलंका ने ईंधन खरीद के लिए भारत से $500 मिलियन का ऋण मांगा

• श्रीलंका सरकार ने अपने कच्चे तेल की खरीद का भुगतान करने के लिए भारत से 500 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर की क्रेडिट लाइन मांगी है, क्योंकि महामारी ने पर्यटन और प्रेषण से देश की कमाई को प्रभावित करने के बाद देश द्वीप राष्ट्र में एक गंभीर विदेशी मुद्रा संकट का सामना कर रहा है। 500 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर की क्रेडिट लाइन भारत-श्रीलंका आर्थिक साझेदारी व्यवस्था का हिस्सा है। इस सुविधा का उपयोग पेट्रोल और डीजल आवश्यकताओं की खरीद के लिए किया जाएगा।
• 2020 में देश की जीडीपी में रिकॉर्ड 3.6 प्रतिशत की गिरावट आई और जुलाई से एक वर्ष में इसका विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार आधे से अधिक गिरकर सिर्फ 2.8 बिलियन अमरीकी डालर हो गया। इससे पिछले एक वर्ष में डॉलर के मुकाबले श्रीलंकाई रुपये में 9 प्रतिशत की गिरावट आई है, जिससे आयात अधिक महंगा हो गया है।

'मेरा घर मेरे नाम' योजना से पंजाब में वंचितों को मिलेगी राहत : मुख्यमंत्री चरणजीत चन्नी

• पंजाब में, मुख्यमंत्री चरणजीत चन्नी ने 'मेरा घर मेरे नाम ' नामक एक नई योजना शुरू की, जिसका उद्देश्य गांवों और शहरों के 'लाल लकीर' के घरों में रहने वाले लोगों को मालिकाना अधिकार प्रदान करना है। वह भूमि क्षेत्र जो गाँव की बस्ती का एक हिस्सा है और केवल गैर-कृषि उद्देश्यों के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है, लाल लकीर के रूप में जाना जाता है।
• राज्य सरकार डिजिटल मैपिंग के लिए ग्रामीण और शहरी दोनों क्षेत्रों में आवासीय संपत्तियों का ड्रोन सर्वेक्षण करेगी, जिसके बाद सभी पात्र निवासियों को संपत्ति कार्ड दिए जाएंगे, उचित पहचान या सत्यापन के बाद, उन्हें समयबद्ध तरीके से मालिकाना अधिकार प्रदान करेंगे। संपत्ति कार्ड रजिस्ट्री के उद्देश्य की पूर्ति करेगा जिसके लिए वे बैंकों से ऋण प्राप्त कर सकते हैं या अपनी संपत्ति भी बेच सकते हैं।

 यूके में आयोजित कैम्ब्रियन पेट्रोल अभ्यास में भारतीय सेना ने स्वर्ण पदक जीता

• भारतीय सेना का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाली 5वीं बटालियन-4 (5/4) गोरखा राइफल्स (फ्रंटियर फोर्स) की एक टीम ने यूनाइटेड किंगडम में आयोजित प्रतिष्ठित कैम्ब्रियन पेट्रोल अभ्यास में स्वर्ण पदक जीता। भारतीय सेना की टीम ने इस आयोजन में भाग लिया और विश्‍व के विभिन्न हिस्सों से विशेष बलों और प्रतिष्ठित रेजिमेंटों का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाली 17 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय टीमों सहित कुल 96 टीमों के साथ प्रतिस्पर्धा की।
• भारतीय सेना की टीम को सभी न्यायाधीशों से भरपूर प्रशंसा मिली। टीम को उनके उत्कृष्ट नेविगेशन कौशल, समग्र शारीरिक सहनशक्ति और गश्ती आदेशों की डिलीवरी के लिए प्रशंसा मिली।

15 वर्षीय दिव्या देशमुख भारत की 21वीं महिला ग्रैंड मास्टर (WGM) बनीं

• 15 वर्षीय दिव्या देशमुख हंगरी के बुडापेस्ट में ग्रैंड मास्टर (जीएम) में अपना दूसरा अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मास्टर (आईएम) हासिल करने के बाद भारत की 21वीं महिला ग्रैंड मास्टर (WGM) बन गईं। उन्होंने नौ राउंड में पांच अंक बनाए और अपने अंतिम WGM मानदंड को सुरक्षित करने के लिए 2452 के प्रदर्शन रेटिंग के साथ समाप्त हुए।
• दिव्या ने अपना दूसरा IM-मानदंड भी हासिल कर लिया और अब अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मास्टर बनने से दूर है। तीन जीत के अलावा, उसने टूर्नामेंट में दो गेम हारते हुए चार ड्रॉ खेले।

 सैफ चैंपियनशिप: भारत ने नेपाल को 3-0 से हराकर जीता 8वां खिताब

• भारत ने मालदीव के माले में नेशनल फुटबॉल स्टेडियम में 16 अक्टूबर, 2021 को आयोजित 2021 SAFF चैंपियनशिप फाइनल खिताब जीतने के लिए नेपाल को 3-0 से हराया। यह भारतीय पुरुषों की राष्ट्रीय फुटबॉल टीम द्वारा दावा किया गया आठवां SAFF चैम्पियनशिप खिताब है। इससे पहले टीम ने 1993, 1997, 1999, 2005, 2009, 2011, 2015 में खिताब जीता था।

नासा ने बृहस्पति ट्रोजन क्षुद्रग्रहों का अध्ययन करने के लिए अपना लुसी अंतरिक्ष यान लॉन्च किया

• अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा ने बृहस्पति के ट्रोजन क्षुद्रग्रहों का अध्ययन करने के लिए 'लुसी मिशन' नामक अपनी तरह का पहला मिशन लॉन्च किया है। लुसी का मिशन जीवन 12 वर्ष का है, जिसके दौरान अंतरिक्ष यान सौर मंडल के विकास के बारे में अध्ययन करने के लिए कुल आठ प्राचीन क्षुद्रग्रहों से उड़ान भरेगा। इनमें एक मुख्य-बेल्ट क्षुद्रग्रह और सात बृहस्पति ट्रोजन क्षुद्रग्रह शामिल होंगे।
• लुसी मिशन इतने सारे अलग-अलग क्षुद्रग्रहों का पता लगाने के लिए इतिहास में नासा के पहले एकल अंतरिक्ष यान मिशन को चिह्नित करेगा।
• 16 अक्टूबर, 2021 को फ्लोरिडा के केप कैनावेरल स्पेस फोर्स स्टेशन में स्पेस लॉन्च कॉम्प्लेक्स 41 से यूनाइटेड लॉन्च अलायंस (ULA) एटलस वी रॉकेट से लुसी मिशन ने उड़ान भर दी है।
• बृहस्पति के ट्रोजन क्षुद्रग्रह अंतरिक्ष चट्टानों के दो बड़े समूह हैं, जो वैज्ञानिकों का मानना है कि सौर मंडल के बाहरी ग्रहों का निर्माण करने वाली प्राथमिक सामग्री के अवशेष हैं।

राहुल द्रविड़ होंगे टीम इंडिया के नए मुख्य कोच

• पूर्व भारतीय बल्लेबाज, राहुल द्रविड़ को टीम इंडिया के मुख्य कोच के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है और वह रवि शास्त्री का स्थान लेंगे, जिनका कार्यकाल संयुक्त अरब अमीरात में टी 20 विश्व कप के 2021 संस्करण के बाद समाप्त हो रहा है। रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, बीसीसीआई अध्यक्ष सौरव गांगुली और मानद सचिव जय शाह ने दुबई में द्रविड़ के साथ बैठक की और उनसे राष्ट्रीय टीम की कमान संभालने का अनुरोध किया। रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, द्रविड़, जिन्हें भारतीय क्रिकेट की 'द वॉल' के रूप में भी जाना जाता है, को दो वर्ष के अनुबंध पर रखा गया है और वह INR 10 करोड़ का वेतन प्राप्त करेंगे।
• टीम इंडिया ने भरत अरुण की जगह लेफ्टिनेंट पारस म्हाम्ब्रे को भी अपना गेंदबाजी कोच नियुक्त किया है। भले ही विक्रम राठौर को बल्लेबाजी कोच के रूप में बनाए रखा गया हो, लेकिन क्षेत्ररक्षण कोच आर श्रीधर की जगह किसे लेना चाहिए, इस पर अभी फैसला नहीं किया गया है।

मानसिक स्वास्थ्य के बारे में कलंक को तोड़ने में मदद करने के लिए ICC और UNICEF पार्टनर

• संयुक्त अरब अमीरात और ओमान में 2021 पुरुषों के टी20 विश्व कप से पहले, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट परिषद (ICC) और यूनिसेफ (UNICEF) ने बच्चों और किशोरों के बीच मानसिक स्वास्थ्य के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना और इस कलंक को तोड़ने के लिए साझेदारी की है।
• ICC और UNICEF का लक्ष्य बच्चों और किशोरों के बीच मानसिक स्वास्थ्य और भलाई के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना और ICC पुरुष T20 विश्व कप 2021 की शुरुआत में इसके बारे में अधिक बातचीत और समझ को प्रोत्साहित करना है।

सेबी ने निपटान आदेशों पर 4 सदस्यीय उच्चाधिकार प्राप्त सलाहकार समिति का गठन किया

• भारतीय प्रतिभूति और विनिमय बोर्ड (SEBI) ने चार सदस्यीय "निपटान आदेशों और अपराधों के कंपाउंडिंग पर उच्चाधिकार प्राप्त सलाहकार समिति" का गठन किया है।
• समिति के अध्यक्ष बंबई उच्च न्यायालय के सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश विजय सी डागा होंगे। समिति के विचारार्थ विषय "भारतीय प्रतिभूति और विनिमय बोर्ड (निपटान कार्यवाही) विनियम, 2018" के अनुसार होंगे।

Russian film crew back on Earth after shooting first movie in space

• A Russian film crew are back on Earth after wrapping up scenes for the first movie shot in space. Klim Shipenko and actor Yulia Peresild left the International Space Station and landed in Kazakhstan – to be met by a crew filming touchdown scenes. The movie has been in its own kind of space race – with Tom Cruise. He is apparently part of a Hollywood filming-in-space project involving Nasa and Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
• The filmmakers had blasted off from the Russia-leased Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan earlier this month, travelling to the ISS with veteran cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov to film scenes for “The Challenge”.

 Sri Lanka Seeks $500 Million Loan From India For Fuel Purchase

• The Government of Sri Lanka has sought a USD 500 million credit line from India to pay for its crude oil purchases, as the country is facing a severe foreign exchange crisis in the island nation after the pandemic hit the nation’s earnings from tourism and remittances. The USD 500 million credit line is part of the India-Sri Lanka economic partnership arrangement. The facility would be used for purchasing petrol and diesel requirements.
• The country’s GDP contracted by a record 3.6 per cent in 2020 and its foreign exchange reserves plunged by over a half in one year through July to just USD 2.8 billion. This has led to a 9 per cent depreciation of the Sri Lankan rupee against the dollar over the past one year, making imports more expensive.

‘Mera Ghar Mere Naam’ scheme will give succour to underprivileged in Punjab : CM Charanjit Channi

• In Punjab, Chief Minister Charanjit Channi launched a new scheme titled ‘Mera Ghar Mere Naam’, which aims to confer proprietary rights on the people living in the houses within the ‘Lal Lakir’ of villages and the cities. The land area which is a part of the village habitation and is used for non-agriculture purposes only is known as Lal Lakir.
• The state government will undertake drone surveys of residential properties, both in rural and urban areas for digital mapping, following which all eligible residents would be given the property cards, after proper identification or verification, to confer proprietary rights upon them in a time-bound manner. The property card will serve the purpose of registry against which they can avail loans from the banks or even sell their properties.

 Indian Army won a gold medal at the Cambrian Patrol Exercise held in the UK

• A team from 5th Battalion-4 (5/4) Gorkha Rifles (Frontier Force) representing the Indian Army won the gold medal at the prestigious Cambrian Patrol Exercise which was held in the United Kingdom. The Indian Army team took part in the event and competed with a total of 96 teams including 17 international teams representing Special Forces and prestigious Regiments from different parts of the world.
• The Indian Army team received rich accolades from all the judges. The team was praised for their excellent navigation skills, overall physical endurance and delivery of patrol orders.

15-year-old Divya Deshmukh became India's 21st Woman Grand Master (WGM)

• 15-year-old Divya Deshmukh became India’s 21st Woman Grand Master (WGM) after achieving her 2nd International Master (IM) at Grand Master (GM) in Budapest, Hungary. He scored five points in the nine rounds and ended up with a performance rating of 2452 to secure her final WGM norm.
• Divya also secured her second IM-norm and is now a norm away from becoming an International Master. Apart from three wins, she played out four draws while losing two games in the tournament.

 SAFF Championship: India Beat Nepal 3-0 To Win 8th Title

• India beat Nepal, 3-0, to win the 2021 SAFF Championship final title, held on October 16, 2021, at the National Football Stadium in Male, Maldives. This is the eighth SAFF Championship title claimed by the Indian men’s national football team. Previously the team had won the title in 1993, 1997, 1999, 2005, 2009, 2011, 2015.
• Sunil Chhetri , Suresh Singh Wangjam and Sahal Abdul Samad were the goal scorer for the Indian team in final. Top Scorer in the championship Sunil Chhetri (Captain) – 5 goals. Meanwhile, Sunil Chhetri scored his 80th international strike at the championship to equal his score with iconic Lionel Messi and became the second-highest goal-scorer in international football among active players.

NASA launches its Lucy spacecraft to study the Jupiter Trojan asteroids

• The US space agency NASA has launched a first-of-its-kind mission called ‘Lucy Mission‘ to study Jupiter’s Trojan asteroids. The mission life of Lucy is 12-year, during which the spacecraft will fly by a total of eight ancient asteroids to study about solar system’s evolution. These will include one main-belt asteroid and seven Jupiter Trojan asteroids.
• The Lucy mission will mark NASA’s first single spacecraft mission in history to explore so many different asteroids.
• The Lucy probe was launched on a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket from Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on October 16, 2021.
• Jupiter’s Trojan asteroids are two large clusters of space rocks that scientists believe are remnants of the primordial material that formed the solar system’s outer planets.

 APPOINTMENT & RESIGNATION

Rahul Dravid Will be the new head coach of Team India

• Former Indian batter, Rahul Dravid has been appointed as Team India’s head coach and he will be succeeding Ravi Shastri, whose tenure at the helm ends after the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup in the UAE. As per reports, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and honorary secretary Jay Shah had a meeting with Dravid in Dubai and pleaded with him to take charge of the national team. As per reports, Dravid, also known as ‘The Wall’ of Indian cricket, has been roped in on a two-year contract and he will draw a salary of INR 10 crores.
• Team India has also appointed lieutenant Paras Mhambrey as their bowling coach, replacing Bharat Arun. Even as Vikram Rathour has been persisted with as the batting coach, the decision on who should replace fielding coach R Sridhar hasn’t been made just yet.

ICC and UNICEF partner to help break stigma around mental health

• Ahead of the 2021 men’s T20 World Cup in the UAE and Oman, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and UNICEF have that they would partner to help break the stigma around mental health by raising awareness about the issue amongst children and adolescents.
• The ICC and UNICEF are aiming to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing amongst children and adolescents and encourage greater conversation and understanding of it throughout the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 beginning.

SEBI Forms 4-member high powered advisory committee on settlement orders

• The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), has constituted a four-member “high powered advisory committee on settlement orders and compounding of offences”.
• The Chairman of the committee will be Vijay C Daga, retired judge of the High Court of Bombay. The terms of reference of the Committee will be as per “Securities and Exchange Board of India (Settlement Proceedings) Regulations, 2018”.
