श्रीलंका को भारत से US$1 बिलियन का ऋण प्राप्त हुआ

• भारत सरकार ने श्रीलंका के लिए भोजन, आवश्यक उत्पादों और दवाओं के आयात में सहायता के लिए 1 बिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर की लाइन ऑफ क्रेडिट (एलओसी) जारी की है। 15 मार्च 2022 को श्रीलंका के वित्त मंत्री बेसिल राजपक्षे समझौते को अंतिम रूप देने के लिए भारत आएंगे। श्रीलंका इस समय गंभीर आर्थिक संकट से जूझ रहा है। भारत अपने पड़ोसी देश को COVID-19 महामारी का मुकाबला करने और उसकी विकास आकांक्षाओं पर इसके नकारात्मक प्रभाव को कम करने में सहायता करने के अपने प्रयासों के हिस्से के रूप में नियंत्रण रेखा का विस्तार कर रहा है।
• द्वीप का विदेशी भंडार पिछले दो वर्षों में 70% गिरकर फरवरी में 2.31 बिलियन डॉलर हो गया है, जिससे ईंधन सहित महत्वपूर्ण आयात ठप हो गया है। वित्त मंत्री बेसिल राजपक्षे, जिन्होंने पहली बार फरवरी में भारतीय क्रेडिट लाइन की घोषणा की थी, बुधवार को इसके लिए दवा, गेहूं का आटा, चीनी और चावल सहित आवश्यक चीजों के भुगतान के लिए एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर करेंगे।

 रूस के सबसे पसंदीदा राष्ट्र व्यापार की स्थिति को रद्द करेगा : US

• राष्ट्रपति बिडेन ने घोषणा की कि संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका-जी 7, यूरोपीय संघ और नाटो के साथ-साथ रूस के सबसे पसंदीदा राष्ट्र (MFN) व्यापार की स्थिति को रद्द कर देगा। रूस की PNTR स्थिति को रद्द करने से संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका को सभी रूसी आयातों पर नए टैरिफ बढ़ाने और लागू करने की अनुमति मिल जाएगी। अमेरिका में, "मोस्ट फेवर्ड नेशन" का दर्जा स्थायी सामान्य व्यापार संबंध (पीएनटीआर) के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। केवल उत्तर कोरिया और क्यूबा को ही अमेरिका से "सबसे पसंदीदा राष्ट्र" का दर्जा प्राप्त नहीं है।
• इस कदम का मुख्य उद्देश्य यूक्रेन पर आक्रमण के लिए रूसी सरकार को दंडित करना है। संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका भी रूस को विलासिता के सामान का निर्यात नहीं करेगा। इससे पहले अमेरिका रूस से तेल और ऊर्जा के आयात पर रोक लगा चुका है। इस कार्रवाई से रूस को समृद्ध पश्चिमी बाजारों में निर्यात करने की उसकी क्षमता को नुकसान पहुंचाकर आर्थिक नुकसान होगा; यह अमेरिकियों और हमारे व्यापारिक भागीदारों के लिए लागत भी बढ़ाएगा जो प्रभावित रूसी उत्पादों पर भरोसा कर सकते हैं।

भारत गुरुग्राम में अपना पहला 'विश्व शांति केंद्र' स्थापित करेगा

• शांति के राजदूत, प्रख्यात जैनाचार्य डॉ लोकेशजी द्वारा स्थापित अहिंसा विश्व भारती संगठन, हरियाणा के गुरुग्राम में भारत का पहला विश्व शांति केंद्र स्थापित करेगा। इसके लिए हरियाणा सरकार ने गुरुग्राम के सेक्टर 39 में मेदांता अस्पताल के सामने और दिल्ली-जयपुर हाईवे से सटे एक प्लॉट संगठन को आवंटित किया है. विश्व में शांति और सद्भाव की स्थापना के लिए 'वर्ल्ड पीस सेंटर' काम करेगा।
• अहिंसा विश्व भारती ने पूरी राशि शासकीय खजाने में जमा कराकर भूखंड प्राप्त किया था, जिस पर लगभग 25000 वर्ग फुट का निर्माण कार्य दो वर्ष में पूरा किया जाएगा। उन्होंने हरियाणा के माननीय मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल खट्टर जी का आभार व्यक्त किया।

 आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस एंड रोबोटिक्स टेक्नोलॉजी पार्क बेंगलुरु में शुरू हुआ

• देश का पहला आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस एंड रोबोटिक्स टेक्नोलॉजी पार्क (ARTPARK) बेंगलुरु, कर्नाटक में लॉन्च किया गया था। यह भारतीय विज्ञान संस्थान (IISc) बेंगलुरु द्वारा स्थापित एक गैर-लाभकारी फाउंडेशन द्वारा प्रचारित किया जाता है, जिसमें राज्य और केंद्र सरकारों से 230 करोड़ रुपये की पूंजी होती है।
• ARTPARK (AI और रोबोटिक्स टेक्नोलॉजी पार्क) AI फाउंड्री के साथ मिलकर भारत में AI और रोबोटिक्स इनोवेशन को सपोर्ट करने के लिए 100 मिलियन डॉलर का वेंचर फंड लॉन्च करने जा रहा है। फंड को सरकार, निजी कंपनियों और वीसी द्वारा समर्थित किया जाएगा।
• प्रयोगशाला में आईआईएससी में कई प्रयोगशालाओं के सहयोग से तकनीकी दल काम कर रहे हैं। यह भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (IIT) कानपुर, IIT जोधपुर, फिनलैंड में आल्टो विश्वविद्यालय, भारतीय चिकित्सा अनुसंधान परिषद और अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान सहित अन्य तकनीकी संस्थानों और निकायों के साथ भी काम करेगा।

 एमसीएल बनी भारत की सबसे बड़ी कोयला उत्पादक कंपनी

• कोल इंडिया की सहायक कंपनी महानदी कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड (MCL) ने घोषणा की है कि वह देश की सबसे बड़ी कोयला उत्पादक बन गई है। वित्तीय वर्ष 2021-22 में, कंपनी ने बताया कि उसने 157 मिलियन टन कोयले का उत्पादन किया।
• व्यवसाय ने 12 मार्च को 7.62 लाख टन सूखा ईंधन भी उत्पन्न किया। निगम ने एक बयान में कहा कि यह चालू वित्त वर्ष के दौरान एक दिन में सबसे बड़ा उत्पादन था।
• फर्म के अध्यक्ष-सह-प्रबंध निदेशक ओपी सिंह ने एमसीएल को देश का सबसे बड़ा कोयला उत्पादक बनाने में योगदान के लिए सभी अधिकारियों, कर्मचारियों, अनुबंधित कंपनी कर्मचारियों और अन्य हितधारकों की सराहना की।
• कर्मचारियों को अपने बधाई संदेश में, सीएमडी ने कहा, "एमसीएल को राष्ट्र के लिए ऊर्जा सुरक्षा बनाए रखने में बड़ी भूमिका निभानी होगी।"

राष्ट्रीय टीकाकरण दिवस 2022:16 मार्च

• भारत में, राष्ट्रीय टीकाकरण दिवस (नेशनल इम्यूनाइजेशन डे (आईएमडी) के रूप में भी जाना जाता है) पूरे देश में टीकाकरण के महत्व को बताने के लिए प्रतिवर्ष 16 मार्च को मनाया जाता है। यह दिन पहली बार वर्ष 1995 में मनाया गया था। 2022 में, नेशनल इम्यूनाइजेशन डे महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि भारत सरकार ने 15 से 18 वर्ष की आयु के बच्चों के लिए COVID-19 टीकाकरण और वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए बूस्टर खुराक शुरू की है। राष्ट्रीय टीकाकरण दिवस या नेशनल इम्यूनाइजेशन डे 2022 का विषय "वैक्सीन वर्क फॉर ऑल" है।

मातृ मृत्यु अनुपात: केरल 42 से 30 पर आया

• जब मातृ एवं शिशु स्वास्थ्य की बात आती है तो केरल एक बार फिर शीर्ष पर आ गया है, जिसमें राज्य ने देश में सबसे कम मातृ मृत्यु अनुपात (MMR) 30 (प्रति एक लाख जीवित जन्म) दर्ज किया है। नवीनतम आंकड़ों के अनुसार, 2017-19 की अवधि के लिए भारत का मातृ मृत्यु अनुपात (MMR) सुधरकर 103 हो गया है।
• केरल का मातृ मृत्यु अनुपात (MMR) 42 से गिरकर 30 हो गया है। केरल ने वर्ष 2020 में ही एमएमआर के संयुक्त राष्ट्र सतत विकास लक्ष्यों को हासिल कर लिया है। मातृ मृत्यु अनुपात (MMR) को प्रति 100000 जीवित जन्मों पर मातृ मृत्यु की संख्या के रूप में परिभाषित किया गया है।
• केरल, तेलंगाना और महाराष्ट्र भारत में सबसे कम एमएमआर वाले शीर्ष 3 राज्यों में शामिल हैं।

साहित्य अकादमी ने भारतीय कवि और राजनयिक अभय के. की एक पुस्तक 'मानसून' प्रकाशित की

• साहित्य अकादमी, भारत की राष्ट्रीय पत्र अकादमी ने भारतीय कवि-राजनयिक अभय के द्वारा एक बुक - लेंग्थ कविता 'मानसून' प्रकाशित की है। मानसून 4 पंक्तियों के 150 छंदों की एक कविता है जो मेडागास्कर में अपनी यात्रा शुरू करती है और समृद्ध वनस्पतियों और जीवों, भाषाओं, व्यंजनों, संगीत, स्मारकों, परिदृश्यों, परंपराओं, मिथकों और उन स्थानों की किंवदंतियों का आह्वान करते हुए मानसून के मार्ग का अनुसरण करता है जहां से मानसून यात्रा करता है और हिमालय में श्रीनगर में मेडागास्कर से कवि के संदेश को अपने प्रियतम तक ले जाने के लिए एक दूत के रूप में कार्य करता है।
• साहित्य अकादमी की स्थापना 12 मार्च 1954 को हुई थी। इसका लोगो स्वयं सत्यजीत रे ने डिजाइन किया था और पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू इसके पहले अध्यक्ष थे। अकादमी द्वारा प्रकाशित पहली पुस्तक 1956 में डीडी कोशाम्बी द्वारा भगवान बुद्ध थी। यह मराठी से हिंदी में अनुवाद था।

• भारतीय जनता पार्टी (बीजेपी) ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के जीवन पर एक किताब मोदी@20: ड्रीम्स मीट डिलीवरी का विमोचन करने की घोषणा की है। यह अप्रैल 2022 में स्टैंड हिट करने के लिए तैयार है। पुस्तक बुद्धिजीवियों और विशेषज्ञों द्वारा लिखे गए टुकड़ों का संकलन है और ब्लूक्राफ्ट डिजिटल फाउंडेशन द्वारा संपादित और संकलित किया गया है।

Sri Lanka received US$1 billion line of credit from India 

• The Indian government has issued a USD 1 billion line of credit (LoC) for Sri Lanka to aid in the import of food, necessary products, and medication. On March 15, 2022, Sri Lankan Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa will visit India to finalise the agreement. Sri Lanka is currently experiencing a serious economic crisis. India is extending the Line of Control as part of its efforts to aid its neighbouring country in combating the COVID-19 pandemic and mitigating its negative impact on its development aspirations.
• The island’s foreign reserves have dropped 70% in the last two years to $2.31 billion in February, stalling critical imports including of fuel. Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa, who first announced the Indian credit line in February, will sign an agreement for it on Wednesday to pay for essentials including medicine, wheat flour, sugar and rice.

United States and Others to Revoke Most-Favored-Nation Status from Russia

• President Biden announced that the United States—along with the G7, the European Union, and NATO—will revoke Russia’s Most Favored Nation (MFN) trade status. Revoking Russia’s PNTR status will allow the United States to increase and impose new tariffs on all Russian imports. In the US, the “most favoured nation” status is also known as permanent normal trade relations (PNTR). Only North Korea and Cuba do not enjoy the “most favoured nation” status from the US.
• The main aim of this step is to punish the Russian government for its invasion of Ukraine. The United States will also not export luxury goods to Russia. Earlier, the United States has banned the import of Oil and energy from Russia. This action will cause economic harm to Russia by damaging its ability to export to wealthier Western markets; it will also raise costs for Americans and our trading partners that may rely on affected Russian products.

India to establish its first 'World Peace Center' in Gurugram

• Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti organisation established by Ambassador of Peace, Eminent Jainacharya Dr Lokeshji will establish India’s first World Peace Center in Gurugram, Haryana. For this, the Haryana Government has allotted a plot to the organization in Sector 39 of Gurugram opposite Medanta Hospital and adjacent to Delhi-Jaipur Highway. ‘World Peace Center’ will work for the establishment of peace and harmony in the world.
• The Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti had got the plot by depositing the entire amount in the Government treasury, on which the construction work of about 25000 square feet will be completed in two years. He expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattarji.

Artificial Intelligence & Robotics Technology Park comes up in Bengaluru

• Country’s first Artificial Intelligence & Robotics Technology Park (ARTPARK) was launched in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It is promoted by a not-for-profit foundation set up by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru, with a seed capital of Rs. 230 crore from the State and Central governments.
• ARTPARK (AI and Robotics Technology Park) along with AI Foundry is going to launch a $100 million venture fund to support AI and robotics innovations in India. The fund will be backed by the government, private companies, and VCs.
• The lab has technical teams working in collaboration with multiple labs at IISc. It will also work with other technical institutes and bodies, including the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, IIT Jodhpur, the University of Aalto in Finland, Indian Council of Medical Research and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

MCL becomes largest coal producing company in India

• The Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India, has announced that it has become the country’s largest coal producer. In the financial year 2021-22, the company reported it produced 157 million tonnes of coal.
• The business also generated 7.62 lakh tonnes of dry fuel on March 12. In a statement, the corporation stated that it was the largest production in a single day during the current fiscal year.
• OP Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the firm, complimented all officials, workers, contracted company employees, and other stakeholders for their contributions in making MCL the country’s biggest coal producer.
• In his congratulatory message to the employees, the CMD stated, “MCL has to play a bigger role in maintaining energy security for the nation.”

National Vaccination Day 2022:16th March

• In India, the National Vaccination Day (also known as National Immunisation Day (IMD)) is observed on 16 March every year, to convey the importance of vaccination to the entire nation. The day was first observed in the year 1995. In 2022, the National Immunization Day is important since the Government of India has started the COVID-19 vaccination for children between 15 to 18 years of age and booster dose for senior citizens. The theme for National Vaccination Day or National Immunisation Day 2022 is “Vaccines Work for all”.
• It was in 1995 that India started the Pulse Polio Programme and the first dose of Oral Polio Vaccine was given. According to the World Health Organization, immunization is a process through which an individual’s immune system becomes fortified against foreign harm causing agents.

Maternal Mortality Ratio: Kerala dropped from 42 to 30

• Kerala has yet again emerged on top when it comes to maternal and child health, with the State recording the lowest Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) of 30 (per one lakh live births) in the country. According to the latest data, India’s maternal mortality ratio (MMR) has improved to 103 for the period 2017-19.
• The Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) of Kerala has dropped from 42 to 30. Kerala has achieved the UN Sustainable Development Goals of MMR in the year 2020 itself. Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) is defined as the number of maternal deaths per 100000 live births.
• Kerala, Telangana, and Maharashtra are included in the top 3 states with the lowest MMR in India.

Sahitya Akademi publishes ‘Monsoon’, a book-length poem by Indian poet and diplomat Abhay K

• Sahitya Akademi, India’s National Academy of Letters has published a book-length poem ‘Monsoon’ by Indian poet-diplomat Abhay K. Monsoon is a poem of 150 stanzas of 4 lines each that commence its journey in Madagascar and follows the path of the monsoon invoking the rich flora and fauna, languages, cuisine, music, monuments, landscapes, traditions, myths and legends of the places through which monsoon travels and acts as a messenger to carry the poet’s message from Madagascar to his beloved in Srinagar in the Himalayas.
• Sahitya Akademi was established on 12th March in 1954. Its logo was designed by Satyajit Ray himself and Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was its first President. The first book published by the Academy was Bhagwan Buddha by D.D. Koshambi in 1956. It was a translation from Marathi into Hindi.

• The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced to release a book on the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi titled Modi@20: Dreams Meet Delivery. It is set to hit stands in April 2022. The book is a compilation of pieces written by intellectuals & experts and has been edited & compiled by BlueKraft Digital Foundation.
• The book captures the political life of PM Modi’s past 20 years, ranging from his tenure as Gujarat CM to Prime Minister of India and has been compiled by eminent intellectuals and personalities from industry and politics.

Razorpay acquires fifth payments tech startup IZealiant Technologies

• Razorpay, a fintech unicorn, announced the purchase of IZealiant Technologies, a renowned Fintech business that provides banks with payments technology solutions, for an undisclosed sum. IZealiant is a Pune-based startup that offers banks and financial institutions mobile-first, API-enabled, and cloud-ready payment processing tools.
• Razorpay’s Banking Solutions Arm will be strengthened by the purchase of IZealiant, which will develop revolutionary payment banking solutions for partner banks, allowing businesses and their end-customers to enjoy a faster, more seamless, and secure payment experience.
• Razorpay’s Banking team has worked on a number of important projects in India, including Razorpay TokenHQ, India’s first multi-network RBI compliant card tokenization solution, and MandateHQ, an API-based, plug-and-play recurring payments interface for banks.
• “We are pleased to have the IZealiant team join the Razorpay family today,” said Harshil Mathur, CEO and Co-founder of Razorpay, in response to the purchase.
