केरल: लोक शिक्षा में डिजिटल बनने वाला पहला राज्य

• सार्वजनिक शिक्षा को पूरी तरह से डिजिटल बनाने के लिए केरल राज्य देश का पहला राज्य बना है।
• राज्य सरकार ने 42.36 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से इसे हासिल किया है। यह पहल 2018 में शुरू की गई थी।

 ब्रिक्स मंत्रिस्तरीय शिखर सम्मेलन 2020 अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से आयोजित किया गया

• वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से ब्रिक्स मंत्रिस्तरीय शिखर सम्मेलन 2020 ऑनलाइन मोड के माध्यम से आयोजित किया गया।
• श्रम और रोजगार राज्य मंत्री (I / C), श्री संतोष गंगवार ने इस बैठक में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया। यह ब्रिक्स श्रम और रोजगार मंत्रियों की आभासी बैठक रूसी राष्ट्रपति पद के तहत आयोजित की गई थी।
• इस ब्रिक्स शिखर सम्मेलन का उद्देश्य ब्रिक्स देशों में एक सुरक्षित कार्य संस्कृति बनाने के लिए दृष्टिकोण सहित विभिन्न मुद्दों पर चर्चा करना है।

 बैंकिंग और अर्थव्यवस्था

IMF का अनुमान, '2020 में भारतीय अर्थव्‍यवस्‍था में आएगी 10.3% की गिरावट लेकिन 2021 में आएगा जबर्दस्‍त उछाल'

• वायरस से बुरी तरह प्रभावित भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था (Indian Economy) में इस वर्ष के दौरान 10.3 प्रतिशत की बड़ी गिरावट आने का अनुमान है।
• अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष (आईएमएफ) ने मंगलवार को यह बात कही। वहीं, इस दौरान विश्व अर्थव्यवस्था (World Economy) में 4.4 प्रतिशत की गिरावट और 2021 में 5.2 प्रतिशत की जोरदार वृद्धि के साथ आगे बढ़ने का अनुमान व्यक्त किया गया है। हालांकि, इसके साथ ही IMF ने कहा है कि 2021 में भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था में संभवत: 8.8 प्रतिशत की जोरदार बढ़त दर्ज की जायेगी और वह चीन को पीछे छोड़ते हुये तेजी से बढ़ने वाली उभरती अर्थव्यवस्था का दर्जा फिर से हासिल कर लेगी।
• चीन के 2021 में 8.2 प्रतिशत वृद्धि हासिल करने का अनुमान है।

 एक्सिस बैंक ने गूगलपे और वीजा के साथ मिलकर ACE क्रेडिट कार्ड लॉन्च किया

• एक्सिस बैंक ने डिजिटल अर्थव्यवस्था में उपयोगकर्ताओं की बढ़ती भागीदारी पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने के साथ एक्सिस एसीई क्रेडिट कार्ड नाम से एक नया प्रवेश-स्तर क्रेडिट कार्ड लॉन्च किया है।
• कार्ड को गूगलपे के सहयोग से लॉन्च किया गया है और यह वीज़ा (सिग्नेचर) प्लेटफॉर्म पर चलेगा।
• ACE क्रेडिट कार्ड उपयोगकर्ताओं को गूगलपे भुगतान के माध्यम से बिल भुगतान (बिजली, इंटरनेट, गैस और अधिक), DTH और मोबाइल रिचार्ज पर 5% कैशबैक मिलेगा।

 सम्मेलन और समझौते

Microsoft और AICTE ने कौशल छात्रों के लिए भागीदारी की

• भारत सरकार की अखिल भारतीय तकनीकी शिक्षा परिषद (AICTE) ने भविष्य में तैयार कौशल के साथ शिक्षार्थियों और शिक्षकों को सशक्त बनाने के लिए Microsoft के साथ भागीदारी की है।
• इस साझेदारी के हिस्से के रूप में, Microsoft से 1500 से अधिक पाठ्यक्रम मॉड्यूल AICTE के ई-लर्निंग पोर्टल, ELIS के माध्यम से छात्रों और शिक्षकों को मुफ्त में उपलब्ध कराए जाएंगे।

भारतीय नौसेना के जहाजों सह्याद्री और कोरा को FAF 2020 में सर्वश्रेष्ठ जहाजों के रूप में चुना गया।

• विशाखापत्तनम में भारतीय नौसेना के पूर्वी बेड़े के परिचालन चक्र की सफल परिणति को चिह्नित करने के लिए फ्लीट अवार्ड फंक्शन (FAF), 2020 का आयोजन किया गया।
• विभिन्न परिचालन ऊर्ध्वाधरों में उत्कृष्टता की मान्यता में सोलह ट्राफियां प्रदान की गईं। बेस्ट शिप की सबसे प्रतिष्ठित ट्राफियां आईएनएस सह्याद्री को कैपिटल शिप्स और आईएनएस कोरा को कोर्वेट और जहाजों के समान वर्गों के बीच प्रदान की गईं।

पूर्व भारतीय फुटबॉल कप्तान कार्लटन चैपमैन का निधन

• पूर्व भारतीय फुटबॉल कप्तान कार्लटन चैपमैन (Carlton Chapman) का निधन। उनका जन्म 13 अप्रैल 1971 को बेंगलुरु, कर्नाटक में हुआ था। उन्होंने 2001 में पेशेवर फुटबॉल से संन्यास की घोषणा की थी।
• वह 1997 में साउथ एशियाई फुटबॉल महासंघ का गोल्ड कप जीतने वाली भारतीय टीम के कप्तान थे।
• वह 1995 से 2001 के दौरान भारतीय टीम के प्रमुख मिडफील्डर थे। वह क्वार्ट्ज एफसी, कोझीकोड से 2017 में तकनीकी निदेशक के तौर पर जुड़े थे।

भारतीय मूल की विख्यात दक्षिण अफ्रीकी मानवाधिकार वकील प्रिसिला जाना का निधन

• प्रसिद्ध भारतीय मूल के दक्षिण अफ्रीकी मानवाधिकार वकील प्रिसिला जान का 76 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया है।
• जाना, जिन्होंने रंगभेद के खिलाफ एक महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई थी, दक्षिण अफ्रीकी मानवाधिकार आयोग (SAHR) के उपाध्यक्ष थे।

 नागालैंड के पर्यावरण मंत्री सी एम चेंग का निधन

• नागालैंड के पर्यावरण मंत्री सी एम चेंग (C M Chang) का C-19 के कारण निधन। वह एक सेवानिवृत्त आईएएस अधिकारी और पूर्व लोकसभा (2009-13) सांसद थे।
• वह 2013 में तुएनसांग जिले के तहत आने वाली 51 नोकेसेन निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों से नागालैंड विधान सभा के लिए चुने गए थे और बाद में राष्ट्रवादी डेमोक्रेटिक प्रोग्रेसिव पार्टी (एनडीपीपी) के टिकट पर 2018 में उसी सीट को बरकरार रखा।

• लॉस एंजिल्स लेकर्स ने मियामी हीट को हराकर नेशनल बास्केटबॉल एसोसिएशन (NBA) चैम्पियनशिप 2020 अपने नाम कर ली है। यह LA लेकर्स की 17वीं एनबीए खिताब जीत है और एक दशक पहले 2010 में कोबे ब्रायंट के पांचवें और अंतिम खिताब के बाद पहली जीत है।
• लेकर्स के लेब्रोन जेम्स को उनके करियर में चौथी बार NBA फाइनल मोस्ट वैल्यूएबल प्लेयर (MVP) का खिताब दिया गया। इसके साथ ही, वह तीन अलग फ्रेंचाइजी में नाम होने वाले इतिहास में पहले ऐसे खिलाड़ी बन गए है जिसका नाम फाइनल एमवीपी में जोड़ा गया है।

भारत को ‘Oxfam International’ द्वारा जारी CRI इंडेक्स में मिला 129 वां स्थान

• भारत को वर्ष 2020 के Commitment to Reducing Inequality (CRI) Index यानि असमानता घटाने की प्रतिबद्धता सूचकांक में 158 देशों में से 129 वें स्थान पर रखा गया है। यह सूचकांक का तीसरा संस्करण है, जो COVID-19 के समय में असमानता से निपटने पर केंद्रित है। वर्ष 2020 के CRI सूचकांक में नॉर्वे शीर्ष स्थान पर रहा है। 158 वें स्थान पर काबिज दक्षिण सूडान सूचकांक में सबसे कम रैंकिंग वाला देश है।
• सूचकांक के अनुसार, भारत महामारी के दौरान असमानता से निपटने में दुनिया के सबसे खराब प्रदर्शन करने वाले देशों में शामिल है।
• भारत का स्वास्थ्य बजट दुनिया का चौथा सबसे कम बजट है और केवल आधी आबादी की जरुरी बुनियादी स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं तक पहुंच है।

विश्व मानक दिवस: 14 अक्टूबर

• World Standards Day or International Standards Day: विश्व मानक दिवस अथवा अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानक दिवस हर साल 14 अक्टूबर को विश्व स्तर पर मनाया जाता है। इस दिन को मनाए जाने का उद्देश्य उपभोक्ताओं, नियामकों और उद्योग के बीच वैश्विक अर्थव्यवस्था के मानकीकरण के महत्व के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना है।
• विश्व मानक दिवस 2020 की थीम “Protecting the planet with standards” है।
• यह दिन अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानकीकरण निकायों, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विद्युत तकनीकी आयोग (International Electrotechnical Commission) अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानकीकरण संगठन (International Organisation for Standards), और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दूरसंचार संघ (International Telecommunication Union) के सदस्यों के द्वारा प्रत्येक वर्ष विश्व भर में उन हजारों विशेषज्ञों के संयुक्त प्रयास के प्रति कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करने के लिए मनाया जाता है जो स्वैच्छिक रूप से तकनीकी सहमतियाँ विकसित करते हैं, जोकि अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानक के रूप में प्रकाशित होती हैं।

 अंतरराष्ट्रीय आपदा न्यूनीकरण दिवस: 13 अक्टूबर

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा हर साल 13 अक्टूबर को विश्व स्तर पर International Day for Disaster Reduction यानि अंतरराष्ट्रीय आपदा न्यूनीकरण दिवस मनाया जाता है। यह दिन जोखिम-जागरूकता और आपदा में कमी की वैश्विक संस्कृति को बढ़ावा देने के लिए मनाया जाता है और साथ ही इसे दुनिया भर के लोग और समुदाय आपदाओं के अपने जोखिम को किस प्रकार कम कर रहे हैं और कैसे अपने सामने आने वाले खतरों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने वालो को चिन्हित करने के लिए भी मनाया जाता है।
• इस वर्ष का अंतरराष्ट्रीय आपदा न्यूनीकरण दिवस समग्र शासन से संबंधित में है। आप बचाए गए जीवन से अच्छे आपदा जोखिम शासन को माप सकते हैं, आपदा प्रभावित लोगों की संख्या में कमी और आर्थिक नुकसान को कम कर सकते हैं। COVID-19 और जलवायु आपातकाल बता रहे हैं कि हमें जनता की भलाई के लिए वैज्ञानिक प्रमाणों पर काम करने वाली एक स्पष्ट दृष्टि, योजना और सक्षम, सशक्त संस्थाओं की आवश्यकता है।

• हार्पर कॉलिन्स द्वारा प्रकाशित पुस्तक 24 अक्टूबर को जारी की जाएगी।

Kerala: First State to become Digital in Public Education

• The State of Kerala is the first state in the country to make public education completely digital.
• The state Government has achieved it at a cost of Rs 42.36 crores. The initiative was launched in 2018.

 BRICS Ministerial Summit 2020 held virtually

• BRICS Ministerial Summit 2020 held through online mode via Video Conferencing.
• Minister of State (I/C) for Labour & Employment, Shri Santosh Gangwar represented India in this meeting. This BRICS Labour & Employment Ministers’ Virtual Meeting was held under Russian Presidency.
• The Objective of this BRICS Summit is to discuss various issues including approaches to creating a safe work culture in BRICS countries.

IMF projects India’s GDP to contract 10.3% in 2020; rebound with 8.8% growth in 2021-22

• In its latest ‘World Economic Outlook’ report, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected the Indian economy to contract by 10.3 percent in 2020-21, from its earlier prediction of 4.5 percent due to rise in C-19 cases.
• However, IMF estimates the GDP of India to grow at 8.8 percent in 2021-22, as compared to 6 percent predicted earlier, regaining the position of the fastest growing emerging economy.
• On the other hand, the Fund expects the world economy to contract by 4.4 percent in 2020. This projection was -5.2 percent earlier

Axis Bank launches ACE Credit Card in collaboration with Google Pay and Visa

• Axis Bank has launched a new entry-level credit card named Axis ACE Credit Card, with focus on increasing participation of users in the digital economy.
• The card has been launched in collaboration with Google Pay and will run on Visa (Signature) platform.
• ACE Credit card users would get 5% Cashback on Bill payments (electricity, internet, gas and more), DTH and mobile recharges done through Google Pay.

Former Indian Football Captain Carlton Chapman passed away

• Former Indian football captain, Carlton Chapman passed away. He was born on 13th April 1971 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He announced his retirement from professional Football in 2001.
• He was the captain of the Indian team when India won the South Asian Football Federation Gold Cup in 1997. He was a leading midfielder played for Indian from 1995 to 2001.
• He joined Quartz FC, Kozhikode as the technical director in 2017.

Priscilla Jana, Renowned Indian-origin South African Human Rights Lawyer Passes Away

• Renowned Indian-origin South African human rights lawyer Priscilla Jana has passed away at the age of 76.
• Jana, who had played a significant role against apartheid, was the Deputy Chairperson of the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC).

 CM Chang, Environment Minister of Nagaland passes away

• Senior Nagaland Minister ‘CM Chang’ has passed away, due to C-19. He was 78-years-old.
• Chang was serving as the Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Justice and Law.

Commitment to Reducing Inequality (CRI) Index 2020

• The international charitable organisation ‘Oxfam International’ released a report on 2020 Commitment to Reducing Inequality (CRI) Index.
• India has been ranked 129 among 158 countries. The 2020 CRI index has been topped by Norway. South Sudan is the lowest ranking country in the index at 158th position.

• A former intelligence officer with the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), GBS Sidhu has written the book titled ” The Khalistan Conspiracy”.
• The book published by HarperCollins will be released on October 24.
• The contents of this book revolve around a two-phased, top-secret operation, which he named “Operation Bhindranwale-Khalistan”.
