भारत ने सेशेल्स को दिए 100 करोड़ रुपये के गश्ती जहाज "पीएस जोरोस्टर" भेंट किया

• भारतीय प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और सेशेल्स के राष्ट्रपति वेवल रामकलवान के बीच आभासी शिखर सम्मेलन के दौरान भारत ने औपचारिक रूप से 100 करोड़ रुपये के गश्ती जहाज "PS जोरोस्टर" को सेशेल्स को सौंप दिया। PS जोरास्टर 2005 के बाद से सेशेल्स के लिए विकसित चौथी मेड-इन-इंडिया गश्ती नाव है। भारत द्वारा उपहार में दिए गए अन्य जहाजों में PS टोपाज़ (2005), PS कॉन्स्टेंट (2014), पैट्रोल बोट हर्मीस (2016) शामिल हैं।
• गार्डन रेक शिपबिल्डर्स एंड इंजीनियरिंग द्वारा 100 करोड़ रुपये की अनुमानित लागत से 48.9 मीटर की गश्ती नाव का निर्माण किया गया है।
• पोत में 35 समुद्री मील की शीर्ष गति और 1,500 समुद्री मील की दूरी पर स्थिरता है।
• इसका उपयोग बहुउद्देश्यीय संचालन के लिए किया जाएगा, जैसे कि गश्त, तस्करी विरोधी और अवैध शिकार विरोधी अभियान, और खोज एवं बचाव।

शिक्षा मंत्री ने राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति के कार्यान्वयन के लिए SARTHAQ पहल शुरू की

• शिक्षा मंत्री रमेश पोखरियाल निशंक ने एक पहल SARTHAQ शुरू की जो देश में राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति के कार्यान्वयन में मदद करेगी।
• छात्रों और शिक्षकों को गुणवत्ता शिक्षा के माध्यम से समग्र उन्नति, SARTHAQ को अमृत महोत्सव समारोह के एक भाग के रूप में शुरू किया गया है।
• शिक्षा मंत्री ने कहा, यह बच्चों और युवाओं के लिए विविध राष्ट्रीय और वैश्विक चुनौतियों का सामना करने का मार्ग प्रशस्त करेगा।
• इससे उन्हें 21 वीं सदी के कौशल, भारतीय परंपरा, संस्कृति और मूल्य प्रणाली को राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति में लागू करने में मदद मिलेगी।
• SARTHAQ के कार्यान्वयन से 25 करोड़ छात्रों, 15 लाख स्कूलों, 94 लाख शिक्षकों सहित सभी हितधारकों को लाभ होगा।

वित्त मंत्री सीतारमण ने विश्व बैंक-आईएमएफ की 103 वीं विकास समिति की बैठक में भाग लिया

• केंद्रीय वित्त और कॉर्पोरेट मामलों के मंत्री श्रीमती निर्मला सीतारमण ने वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के जरिए विकास समिति प्लेनरी की 103 वीं बैठक में हिस्सा लिया। बैठक के दौरान, उन्होंने गरीबों और निशक्तों के लिए सामाजिक समर्थन उपायों सहित C-19 से निपटने के लिए किए गए उपायों और सांविधिक और नियामक अनुपालन मामलों में फर्मों के लिए राहत उपायों को साझा किया।
• विश्व बैंक समूह (WBG) और कॉमन फ्रेमवर्क और बियोंड के तहत ऋण राहत के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष समर्थन।
• C -19 महामारी: विकासशील देशों द्वारा टीकों के लिए उचित और सस्ती पहुंच के लिए विश्व बैंक समूह समर्थन।

फ्रेंच ओपन 2021 टूर्नामेंट C-19 महामारी के कारण स्थगित

• 08 अप्रैल, 2021 को फ्रेंच टेनिस महासंघ ने घोषणा की कि 2021 रोलैंड गैरोस टूर्नामेंट को एक सप्ताह के लिए स्थगित कर दिया गया है। यह फैसला फ्रांस में कोरोनावायरस महामारी और देशव्यापी प्रतिबंध के मद्देनजर हुआ।
• 2021 रोलैंड गैरोस टूर्नामेंट, जिसे फ्रेंच ओपन भी कहा जाता है और एकमात्र 'क्ले-कोर्ट' ग्रैंड स्लैम टूर्नामेंट है, अब 24 मई से 13 जून, 2021 तक होगा। क्वालीफाइंग राउंड 24 मई से 28 मई, 2021 तक आयोजित किए जाएंगे।

• ब्रिटेन के प्रिंस फिलिप, ड्यूक ऑफ एडिनबर्ग का 9 अप्रैल, 2021 को 99 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया।
• बकिंघम पैलेस ने एक बयान के माध्यम से इसकी पुष्टि की, जिसमें लिखा था, "यह बहुत दुख के साथ है कि महामहिम महारानी ने अपने प्यारे पति, हिज़ रॉयल हाइनेस द प्रिंस फिलिप, ड्यूक ऑफ एडिनबर्ग की मृत्यु की घोषणा की है।"

विश्व होम्योपैथी दिवस प्रतिवर्ष 10 अप्रैल को मनाया जाता

• विश्व होम्योपैथी दिवस होम्योपैथी और चिकित्सा की दुनिया में इसके योगदान के बारे में जागरूकता बढाने के लिए प्रतिवर्ष 10 अप्रैल को मनाया जाता है। यह दिन जर्मन चिकित्सक डॉ. क्रिश्चियन फ्राइडरिक सैम्यूल हानेमान (Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann) की जयंती को चिह्नित करने के लिए मनाया जाता है, जिन्हें होम्योपैथी नामक वैकल्पिक चिकित्सा पद्धति का संस्थापक माना जाता है। वर्ष 2021 में हानेमान का 266वां जन्मदिन मनाया गया है।
• केन्द्रीय होम्योपैथी अनुसंधान परिषद (Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy-CCRH), आयुष मंत्रालय, ने नई दिल्ली में 10 और 11 अप्रैल, 2021 से #WorldHomoeopathyDay के अवसर पर दो दिवसीय वैज्ञानिक सम्मेलन का आयोजन किया।
• सम्मेलन का विषय "होम्योपैथी - एकीकृत चिकित्सा के लिए रोडमैप (Homoeopathy – Roadmap for Integrative Medicine)" है।
• एकीकृत देखभाल में होम्योपैथी के एक प्रभावी और कुशल समावेश की दिशा में रणनीतिक क्रियाओं की पहचान करने के लिए नीति निर्माताओं और विशेषज्ञों के अनुभव का आदान-प्रदान।

केंद्रीय वित्त और कॉरपोरेट मामलों के मंत्री ने G20 वित्त मंत्रियों की दूसरी बैठक में वर्चुअली भाग लिया

• केंद्रीय वित्त और कॉर्पोरेट मामलों के मंत्री, निर्मला सीतारमण (Nirmala Sitharaman) ने G20 वित्त मंत्रियों और केंद्रीय बैंक गवर्नर्स (FMCBG) की दूसरी बैठक में वर्चुअली भाग लिया है। यह बैठक मजबूत, स्थायी, संतुलित और समावेशी विकास को बहाल करने के लिए वैश्विक चुनौतियों के लिए नीतिगत प्रतिक्रियाओं पर चर्चा करने के लिए इतालवी अध्यक्षता के तहत आयोजित की गई।
• G20 के वित्त मंत्रियों और केंद्रीय बैंक के गवर्नरों ने C -19 की प्रतिक्रया में G20 एक्शन प्लान के अपडेट पर चर्चा की।
• उन्होंने सबसे कमजोर अर्थव्यवस्थाओं के वित्तपोषण की जरूरतों का समर्थन करने, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कराधान के एजेंडे पर प्रगति, हरियाली संक्रमण को बढ़ावा देने और महामारी से संबंधित वित्तीय विनियमन मुद्दों पर भी चर्चा की।
• श्रीमती सीतारमण ने सभी G20 सदस्यों से वैक्सीन के समान पहुंच और व्यापक वितरण को सुनिश्चित करने का आग्रह किया।
• श्रीमती सीतारमण ने वैश्विक विकास अनुमानों को प्रतिबिंबित किया और वायरस से जुड़ी अनिश्चितताओं की दृढ़ता के बीच निरंतर समन्वय की आवश्यकता को रेखांकित किया।
• वित्त मंत्री ने कहा कि G20 एक्शन प्लान ने एक अच्छे मार्गदर्शन उपकरण के रूप में काम किया है और वसूली को आकार देना इसके वर्तमान अपडेट का मुख्य आधार है।

भारत और जापान ने शैक्षणिक और अनुसंधान सहयोग के लिए समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए

• केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने हाल ही में भारत और जापान के बीच एक समझौता ज्ञापन (MoU) पर हस्ताक्षर किए। MoU को राष्ट्रीय वायुमंडलीय अनुसंधान प्रयोगशाला (NARL) के बीच हस्ताक्षरित किया गया था, जो अंतरिक्ष विभाग, भारत सरकार और रिसर्च इंस्टिट्यूट फॉर सस्टेनेबल ह्यूमनोस्फीयर के तहत संचालित होता है, जिसे RISH कहा जाता है, और इसका संचालन जापान के क्योटो विश्वविद्यालय के तहत किया जाता है।
• MoU के अनुसार, NARL और RISH प्रौद्योगिकी, वायुमंडलीय विज्ञान, सहयोगी वैज्ञानिक प्रयोगों और अन्य संबंधित मॉडलिंग अध्ययन के क्षेत्रों में अपना सहयोग जारी रखेंगे।
• वे वैज्ञानिक सामग्री, सूचना, प्रकाशन, छात्रों, संकाय सदस्यों और शोधकर्ताओं का आदान-प्रदान करेंगे।
• समझौता ज्ञापन में जापान में मध्य और ऊपरी वायुमंडल राडार, मेसोस्फीयर-स्ट्रैटोस्फियर-ट्रोपोस्फीयर रडार, इंडोनेशिया में इक्वेटोरियल एटमॉस्फियर रडार जैसी सुविधाओं का उपयोग करने की अनुमति होगी।

दुती चंद को छत्तीसगढ़ वीरनी पुरस्कार के लिए चुना गया

• भारतीय धावक, दूती चंद को छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य सरकार द्वारा छत्तीसगढ़ वीरनी पुरस्कार के उद्घाटन संस्करण के लिए चुना गया है। यह पुरस्कार, जो खेल सहित विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में भारतीय महिलाओं के योगदान को मान्यता देता है, 14 अप्रैल, 2021 को वर्चुअली दिया जाएगा।
• ओडिशा धावक 2019 में इटली में आयोजित वर्ल्ड यूनिवर्सिटी गेम्स में स्वर्ण पदक जीतने वाली पहली भारतीय महिला बनीं। वह 2018 जकार्ता एशियाई खेलों में 100 और 200 मीटर में रजत पदक विजेता हैं। इसके अलावा, दूती ने 100 मीटर में 11.22 सेकेंड का राष्ट्रीय रिकॉर्ड बनाया।

आशुतोष भारद्वाज को प्रसिद्ध देवीशंकर अवस्थी पुरस्कार 2020 से सम्मानित किया गया

• प्रसिद्ध देवीशंकर अवस्थी पुरस्कार को विपुल हिंदी गद्य, पत्रकार और आलोचक आशुतोष भारद्वाज को दिया गया है। यह सम्मान उन्हें उनके कार्य 'पितृ-वध (Pitra-Vadh)’ के लिए दिया गया है। उनका चयन अशोक वाजपेयी, नंदकिशोर आचार्य और राजेंद्र कुमार की चयन समिति ने किया था।
• आशुतोष भारद्वाज एक देशी अंग्रेजी पत्रकार रहे हैं और बस्तर के उनके अनुभव हिंदी और अंग्रेजी दोनों में ही विवादित रहे हैं। यह पुस्तक अंग्रेजी में 'द डेथ ट्रैप (The Death Trap)' के नाम से प्रकाशित हुई है। इसके अलावा, आधुनिकतावाद और राष्ट्रवाद जैसे महत्वपूर्ण विषयों पर उनका काम भारतीय उपन्यासों में काफी प्रसिद्ध रहा है। वह शिमला इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ एडवांस स्टडीज़ के साथी भी रहे हैं और स्वतंत्र रूप से लिख रहे हैं।

INTERNATIONAL

India gifted Rs 100 crore patrol vessel “PS Zoroaster” to Seychelles

• India formally handed over Rs 100 crore patrol vessel “PS Zoroaster” to Seychelles during the virtual summit between Indian PM Narendra Modi and Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan. The PS Zoroaster is the fourth made-in-India patrol boat developed for Seychelles since 2005. The other vessels gifted by India include PS Topaz (2005), PS Constant (2014), Patrol Boat Hermes (2016).
• The 48.9-metre patrol boat has been built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineering at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore.
• The vessel has a top speed of 35 knots and an endurance of 1,500 nautical miles.
• It will be used for multi-purpose operations, such as patrolling, anti-smuggling and anti-poaching operations, and search and rescue.

Education Minister launched SARTHAQ initiative for implementation of National Education Policy

• Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank launched an initiative SARTHAQ which will help in the implementation of National Education Policy in the country.
• The students and teachers holistic advancement through quality education, SARTHAQ has been initiated as a part of the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
• The Education Minister said, it will pave the way for the children and youths to meet the diverse national and global challenges.
• It will also help them to imbibe 21st century skills, indian tradition, culture and value system as envisioned in National Education Policy.
• The implementation of SARTHAQ would benefit all stakeholders including 25 crore students, 15 lakh schools, 94 lakh teachers.

FM N. Sitharaman participated 103rd Development Committee Meeting of World Bank-IMF

• Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman participated in the 103rd Meeting of the Development Committee Plenary, via video conferencing. During the meeting, she shared the measures taken to combat C-19 including social support measures for the poor and vulnerable, and relief measures for firms in statutory and regulatory compliance matters.

French Open 2021 tournament postponed due to C-19 pandemic

• The French Tennis Federation on April 08, 2021 announced that the 2021 Roland Garros tournament has been postponed by one week. The decision came in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and nationwide restrictions in France.
• The 2021 Roland Garros tournament, also called the French Open and the only ‘clay-court’ Grand Slam tournament, will now run from May 24 till June 13, 2021. The qualifying rounds will be conducted from May 24 to May 28, 2021, followed by the main draw starting from May 30till June 13, 2021.

Britain's Prince Philip passes away at the age of 99 years on April 9

• Britain's Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh passed away at the age of 99 years on April 9, 2021.
• The Buckingham Palace confirmed the same through a statement that read, "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh."

World Homeopathy Day is celebrated every year on April 10

• World Homeopathy Day is celebrated every year on April 10 to spread awareness about homoeopathy and its contribution to the world of medicine. The day marks the birth anniversary of German physician Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, who is considered the founder of the system of alternative medicine called Homeopathy. The year 2021 marks the 266th birthday of Hahnemann.
• The Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Ministry of AYUSH, organised a two-day scientific conference on the occasion of #WorldHomoeopathyDay from April 10 & 11, 2021 in New Delhi.
• The theme of the conference is “Homoeopathy – Roadmap for Integrative Medicine”
• Objective: exchange of experience by policymakers and experts to identify strategic actions towards an effective and efficient inclusion of Homoeopathy in integrative care.

Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs attends 2nd Virtual G20 Finance Ministers

• Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman has participated virtually in the Second G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting. This meeting held under the Italian Presidency to discuss policy responses to global challenges to restore strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth.
• The G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors discussed Updates of the G20 Action Plan in response to C-19.
• They also discussed supporting the financing needs of the most vulnerable economies, the progress on the international taxation agenda, promoting greener transitions and the pandemic related financial regulation issues.
• Smt. Sitharaman urged all G20 members to ensure equitable access and widespread distribution of vaccines.
• Smt. Sitharaman reflected on the global growth projections and underlined the need for continued coordination amidst the persistence of uncertainties associated with the virus.
• The Finance Minister said that the G20 Action Plan has served as a good guidance tool and shaping recovery is the mainstay of its current update.

India and Japan signed an MoU for Academic and Research Cooperation

• The Union Cabinet recently apprised an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) signed between India and Japan. The MoU was signed between the National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL) that operates under the Department of Space, GoI and the Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere called the RISH that operates under the Kyoto University of Japan.
• According to the MoU signed, the NARL and RISH will continue their cooperation in the areas of technology, atmospheric sciences, collaborative scientific experiments and other related modelling studies.
• They will exchange scientific materials, information, publications, students, faculty members and researchers.
• The MoU will allow the countries to utilize the facilities such as Middle and Upper atmosphere radar in Japan, Mesosphere-Stratosphere-Troposphere radar, Equatorial Atmosphere Radar in Indonesia.

Dutee Chand chosen for Chhattisgarh Veerni Award

• Indian sprinter, Dutee Chand has been chosen for the inaugural edition of the Chhattisgarh Veerni Award, by the Chhattisgarh state government. The award, which recognises the contribution of Indian women in different fields, including sports, will be given virtually on April 14, 2021.
• The Odisha sprinter became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal at the World University Games held in Italy in 2019. She is a silver-medalist in 100 and 200 metres at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games. Apart from this, Dutee holds the national record of 11.22 secs in 100m.

Ashutosh Bhardwaj has been awarded to the famous Devishankar Awasthi Award 2020

• The famous Devishankar Awasthi Award has been awarded to the prolific Hindi prose, journalist, and critic Ashutosh Bhardwaj. This honour has been given to him for his work ‘Pitra-Vadh’. He was elected by the selection committee of Ashok Vajpayee, Nandkishore Acharya, and Rajendra Kumar.
• Ashutosh Bhardwaj has been a native English journalist and his experiences of Bastar have been well discussed in both Hindi and English. This book has been published in English under the name of ‘The Death Trap’. Apart from this, his work on important topics like modernism and nationalism has been well-known in Indian novels. He has also been a fellow of the Shimla Institute of Advanced Studies and is writing independently.
