New Aadhaar linking form for Atal Pension Yojna from January 1
●   The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has asked Atal Pension Yojana (APY) service providers to use a revised form to seek consent of subscribers' for seeding Aadhaar with their accounts from Monday.
●   APY, is a government's flagship social security programme.
●   After getting the Aadhaar information, the service providers will have to upload it into Central Recordkeeping Agency.

Country's organised sector created 4 lakh jobs in 2016-17

●   India's organised sector created approximately 1,100 jobs a day in 2016-17.
●   The rate of job creation was 2% higher than 2015-16.
●   Nearly 45% of the total jobs created during the year were generated between January and March 2017.
●   India has been adding about 8 lakh workers to its labour force every year.
●   This implies that organised sector absorbed only about 50% of new workers who seek employment.

Three years in jail for ousted Egyptian President Morsi

●   An Egyptian court has convicted former president Mohammed Morsi and 18 others of insulting the judiciary, sentencing them to three years in prison in a court.
●   The court also ordered Morsi to pay 1 million Egyptian pounds as compensation to one of the judges.
●   It ordered 22 of the defendants to pay 1 million Egyptian pounds each to a powerful union of judges known as the Judges Club.

New endemic ants from the Andamans

●   Scientists have discovered two new ant species of the genus Tetramorium in the evergreen forests of the archipelago, Andaman.
●   Scientists of the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bengaluru and the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University, Japan have discovered the new species Tetramorium krishnani and Tetramorium jarawa
●   The species are named in honour of late scientist K.S. Krishnan of the NCBS, and after the Jarawas.
●   Jarawas are the indigenous people of the islands.
●   They are believed to have inherited this island since thousand of years.

●   The Dhanush is an upgraded version of the Swedish 155-mm Bofors howitzers, which India procured in the mid-1980s.
●   Its induction in Indian Army was delayed after failed trial earlier.

●   Six guns would be offered to the Army for balance user exploitations by February-March 2018.

●   Pro-Brexit activist van Randwyck has said Brexit will help "liberate" the rest of Europe from "EU-German occupation.
●   Britain’s role in the past 200 years has been to restore democracy and self-government to European countries and to ensure there’s a balance of power in Europe.
●   The United Kingdom was a co-founder of European Free Trade Association(EFTA) – the second biggest European trading bloc after the EU – and was a member until it voted to join the European Union in 1974.
●   EFTA has well-established trade relations with 24 states and territories in addition to trade agreements with the EU27.

America’s declining life expectancy

●   America’s average lifespan has decreased for two years in a row.
●   Life expectancy in America as of 2016 is 78.6 years, down 0.1 years from 2015.
●   This has been revealed in a report by the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
●   The decline is due to an alarming drop in male life expectancy at birth that fell from 76.3 in 2015 to 76.1 in 2016.
●   For females, life expectancy remained the same at 81.1.

India-China witnessed roller-coaster relationship in 2017

●   India and China had a roller-coaster relationship in 2017, thanks to the Doklam standoff.
●   The Doklam standoff pushed the two Asian powers to the brink of war, becoming the biggest crisis between them in the past 55 years.
●   The two sides, however, ended the torrid 2017 on a promising note with the most candid talks during the visits of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to New Delhi.

JNCASR adds more security to LiFi

●   Like WiFi, the light-fidelity (LiFi) technology uses both visible and near-visible light is used for free-space communication.
●   Microwaves used in WiFi technology to transmit signals can pass through walls but the light that carry the LiFi signal cannot.
●   It makes the network more secure.
●   Researchers from Bengaluru’s Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) have added another layer of security to LiFi.

●   नौकरी सृजन की दर 2015-16 से 2% अधिक थी

●   Avantika University is a private, university based in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, India.
●   It is India’s first design-centric university.

Govt. injects funds into 6 public banks
● The PSBs receiving funds from Govt. are Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Dena Bank, IDBI Bank, Bank of Maharashtra and UCO Bank.
● All these banks have huge non-performing assets.

Bill to set up National Medical Commission introduced

●   A Bill for setting up a National Medical Commission was introduced in the Lok Sabha by Health Minister J.P. Nadda.
●   It aims to replace the Medical Council of India (MCI) .
●   National Medical Commission will lead to development and regulation of all aspects relating to medical education, medical profession and medical institutions.

Lok Sabha amends bankruptcy law

●   The Lok Sabha amended the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code law on 29th December 2017.
●   It has been done for the prevention of wilful defaulters.
●   According to this amendments defaulters can not take part in bidding proceedings.
●   A defaulter, can become “eligible to submit a resolution plan” if they clear all dues with interest for their NPA.

Amarinder will meet Trudeau

●   Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh will meet Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during his visit to India in February.
●   He is planning to raise, “pro-Khalistan propaganda”, rising from Canada.
●   Amarinder belongs to Indian National congress party and has recently made his govt. In Punjab.
●   Punjabi people are the biggest part of Canada population and Punjabi is one of the official language of Canada.

E-way bill passed

●   Implementation of the e-waybill system will be mandatory from February 1.
●   The government expects goods and services tax (GST) collections to rise by 20-25 per cent after the introduction of electronic way (e-way) bills.
●   This bill will help in tracking of the movement of consignments across trucks and help check revenue leakage.

●   The total project cost is around $57.14 million.
●   $40 million will be financed by the World Bank, and the remaining amount will be funded from the state budget.
●   It is to improve poor tourism of the state.
●   Sameer Kumar Khare, Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs on behalf of the Government of India and John Blomquist, Acting Country Director of the World Bank (India) signed the agreement.

●   PSLV-C40 will be used for the launch from the spaceport in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota, about 100 kms from Chennai.
●   It will have 28 nano satellites from foreign countries, including Finland and the US, one micro and nano satellite from India along with one Cartosat satellite.

4 students chosen for Google PhD Fellowship

●   The winners of Google PhD Fellowships 2017 from India are : Preksha Nama, Indian Institute of Technology Madras; Sayak Ray Chowdhury, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore ; Avijit Dasgupta, International Institute of Information Technology – Hyderabad; and Bidisha Samanta, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

China successfully tested its first Photovoltaic road

●   China successfully tested its first photovoltaic highway based on home-grown technology in country’s eastern Shandong province.
●   The road has wireless charging systems for electric vehicles.
●   The tested segment of highway can generate 817.2 KW of power and is expected to generate 1 million KW hours of electricity each year.

●   Prince Harry has been named the president of African Parks.

●   मुस्लिम महिला (विवाह अधिकारों का संरक्षण) विधेयक को लोकसभा में वोटिंग कराकर इसके लिए अंतिम निर्णय लिया गया.
●   अब इस विधेयक को राज्यसभा में भेजा जायेगा जहां उसे बहुमत से पारित होना होगा.
●   इसके बाद यह राष्ट्रपति के अनुमोदन के लिए भेजा जायेगा.

●   इस मिसाइल का परीक्षण ओडिशा स्थित अब्दुल कलाम आईलैंड से किया गया.
●   इस मिसाइल प्रणाली को विकसित करने वाला भारत विश्व का चौथा देश बन गया है.
●   यह मिसाइल कम ऊंचाई में किसी भी आने वाली बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल को नष्ट करने में सक्षम है.
●   यह इस वर्ष का तीसरा सुपरसोनिक इंटरसेप्टर परीक्षण था जिसमें पृथ्वी के वायुमंडल के 30 किलोमीटर ऊंचाई के भीतर इंटरसेप्टर द्वारा बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल का लक्ष्य सफलतापूर्वक रोक दिया गया.

वीरता पुरस्कारों पर ऑनलाइन क्विज प्रतियोगिता

Telangana government gives Rs 1 crore to Mithali Raj

The Telangana government has gifted one crore rupees to Indian women cricket team captain Mithali Raj and 600 square feet to build the house.
●   According to a release issued by the Telangana government on Thursday, state sports minister T. Padmarao honored Mitali in Hyderabad and presented the amount as a gift.
●   State Sports Minister T. Padmarav also presented a cash prize of 25 lakh rupees to the captain of Indian women's cricket team and veteran batsman Mitali Raj's coach RSR Murthy.
●   Regarding the promotion of the game, the government has taken this step following the instructions of Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao.

Reliance will buy RCom's wireless assets

Reliance Jio Infocomm of Mukesh Ambani has made a deal to buy Reliance Mobile Communications (RCom) spectrum, mobile tower and other mobile business associations including optical fiber network.
●   This deal is being seen as a big relief for Mukesh Ambani's younger brother Anil Ambani's company RCom.

Government to introduce methanol in petrol to reduce the country's oil imports

On the import of oil, the government has to spend a large part of foreign capital every year. The government is working on a policy that will reduce the oil import bill by $ 20 billion ($ 6.4 billion) by 2030.
●   According to this policy, methanol will be added to cooking gas and petrol and diesel.

●   He said that the government will soon introduce a scheme under which 15% methanol will be added to the petrol, which will reduce the cost of fuel by 10%.
●   Gadkari said that the country currently needs about 2,900 million liters of petrol and 9,000 million liters of diesel and now we are the sixth largest consumer of the world.
●   By 2030 we will become the third largest consumer of oil and our import bill relies on crude oil and it is about 6 lakh crores.

Country's first bitcoin trading app Pluto Exchange Launched

The country's first bitcoin trading app has been launched. Mobile based application, Pluto Exchange, launches on Thursday.
●   Now the bitcoin-like crypto (virtual currency) transaction can be done through the app.
●   It will execute all the transactions only through the use of mobile number.
●   By using a 4-digit PIN, users will be able to purchase, sell, store and spend their bitcoins using the mobile number.
●   Bharat Verma, Chief Executive Officer of Pluto Exchange, said, "The slogan of the Pluto Exchange is Unbank the Banked Bank" that means liberate people from the complexity of the bank's work.

Three percent additional dearness allowances announced for employees of Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur announced the announcement of three percent additional dearness allowance for the employees of the state government.
●   This dearness allowance will be payable on July 1, 2017.
●   Addressing the state secretariat employees, the Chief Minister said that the additional dearness allowance will be paid in cash with the salary of January.
●   This will also give dearness relief to pensioners.
●   He said that this will add additional burden of Rs 180 crore annually to the state.

US embassy ends visa crisis with Turkey

The Turkish Embassy in Turkey announced Thursday that it will resume normal visa service for Turkish citizens.

●   In return, Turkey had stopped the visa service for American citizens coming here.
●   After meeting and following the Turkish officials' assurances, the US announced the launch of a general visa service.

Israel will give exploration license to ONGC-led group

Under the leadership of ONGC Foreign in Israel, a consortium of Indian government companies is getting an exploration license.
●   The decision to issue licenses has been done before the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to India in mid-January.
●   This is another step towards strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
●   Israel had auctioned offshore gas fields, but it did not show much interest in global companies.

●   24 blocks were offered in this auction. It is estimated to be 6.6 billion barrels of oil and 213.7 billion cubic meter natural gas reserves.

Milk production increased by 16.37 million tonnes in last year: Lion

Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh said today that the country's milk production was 1.7-22 million tonnes in the year 1960, it has increased to 163.7 million tonnes in the previous year.
●   He was addressing the meeting of the Advisory Committee on Dairy Development here.
●   He said that India has been the largest milk producing country of V in the last 15 years.
●   It is credited to the campaigns of the government, under which various schemes focused on enhancing the productivity of milch animals have been adopted.
●   He said that similarly, per capita milk availability has increased by 14.3 per cent compared to 307 grams in 2013-14, to 351 grams in 2016-17.
●   Dairy farmers' income has also increased 23.77 percent in 2014-17 compared to 2011-14.
●   Singh said that during the last three years, India's annual milk production of 5.53 per cent has been much ahead of the global growth rate of 2.09 per cent.

अमेरिकी दूतावास ने तुर्की के साथ वीजा संकट समाप्त किया

तुर्की में अमेरिकी दूतावास ने तुर्की के नागरिकों के लिए सामान्य वीजा सेवा दोबारा शुरू करने की गुरुवार को घोषणा की।
●   इस्तांबुल में अमेरिकी वाणिज्य दूतावास में तैनात तुर्की के नागरिक को अक्तूबर में गिरफ्तार किए जाने की घटना के बाद अमेरिका ने तुर्की के नागरिकों के लिए वीजा सेवांए बंद कर दी थीं।
●   इसके बदले में तुर्की ने अपने यहां आने वाले अमेरिकी नागरिकों के लिए वीजा सेवा बंद कर दी थी।
●   तुर्की के अधिकारियों से आश्वासन मिलने और उसका पालन होने के बाद अमेरिका ने सामान्य वीजा सेवा शुरू करने की घोषणा की।

मुकेश अंबानी की रिलायंस जियो इन्फोकॉम ने रिलायंस कम्युनिकेशंस (आरकॉम) के स्पेक्ट्रम, मोबाइल टावर और ऑप्टिकल फाइबर नेटवर्क सहित अन्य मोबाइल बिजनस असेट्स खरीदने का सौदा किया है।
●   इस सौदे को मुकेश अंबानी के छोटे भाई अनिल अंबानी की कंपनी आरकॉम के लिए बड़ी राहत के रूप में देखा जा रहा है।
●   आरकॉम लगभग 45 हजार करोड़ रुपये के भारी बोझ से दबा है और लंबे समय से इसे चुकाने के प्रयासों में लगा हुआ है।
●   रिलायंस जियो ने एक बयान में इस सौदे की जानकारी दी है।
●   कंपनी ने कहा है कि उसने इस बारे में एक निश्चित समझौता किया है।
●   जियो के बयान में कहा गया है कि जियो या उसकी नामित इकाइयां इस सौदे के तहत आरकॉम और उसकी सम्बद्ध इकाइयों से चार कैटिगरीज- टावर, ऑप्टिक्ल फाइबर केबल नेटवर्क, स्पेक्ट्रम और मीडिया कनवर्जेंस नोड्स (एसीएन) असेट्स खरीदेगा।

ओनजीसी के नेतृत्व वाले समूह को एक्सप्लोरेशन लाइसेंस देगा इजरायल

इजरायल में ओएनजीसी विदेश की अगुवाई में भारत की सरकारी कंपनियों के एक कंसोर्शियम को एक्सप्लोरेशन लाइसेंस मिलने जा रहा है।
●   लाइसेंस देने का फैसला इजरायल के प्रधानमंत्री बेंजामिन नेतन्याहू के जनवरी के मध्य में भारत दौरे से पहले किया गया है।
●   यह दोनों देशों के बीच संबंध मजबूत होने की दिशा में एक और कदम है।
●   इजरायल ने अपनी ऑफशोर गैस फील्ड्स का ऑक्शन किया था, लेकिन इसमें ग्लोबल कंपनियों ने ज्यादा दिलचस्पी नहीं दिखाई।
●   पिछले महीने समाप्त हुए पहले इजरायल ऑफशोर लाइसेंसिंग राउंड में केवल भारतीय कंसोर्शियम और ग्रीस की एक कंपनी ने बिड दी थी।
●   इस ऑक्शन में 24 ब्लॉक ऑफर किए गए थे। इनमें 6.6 अरब बैरल ऑयल और 213.7 अरब क्यूबिक मीटर नेचुरल गैस का रिजर्व होने का अनुमान है।
●   बिडर्स को अब लाइसेंस लेने की प्रक्रिया पूरी करने के लिए सिग्नेचर बोनस, लाइसेंस फीस और अन्य गारंटी देनी होगी।

देश के तेल आयात को कम करने के लिए पेट्रोल में मेथनॉल मिलाएगी सरकार

तेल के आयात पर सरकार को हर साल विदेशी पूंजी का बड़ा हिस्सा खर्च करना पड़ता है। सरकार एक पॉलिसी पर काम कर रही है जिससे 2030 तक ऑइल इंपोर्ट बिल को 100 बिलियन डॉलर यानी 6.4 हजार अरब रुपये तक कम किया जाएगा।
●   इस नीति के मुताबिक मेथनॉल का कुकिंग गैस और पेट्रोल-डीजल में मिलाया जाएगा।
●   यह जानकारी केंद्रीय सड़क परिवहन मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने लोकसभा में दिए अपने एक बयान में दी। उन्होंने बताया कि पेट्रोल में 15 फीसदी मेथनॉल मिलाया जाएगा।
●   उन्होंने बताया कि सरकार जल्द ही एक स्कीम लागू करने वाली है जिसके तहत पेट्रोल में 15% मेथनॉल मिलाया जाएगा, जिससे फ्यूल की कीमत 10 प्रतिशत तक कम हो जाएगी।
●   गडकरी ने कहा कि वर्तमान में देश को लगभग 2,900 करोड़ लीटर पेट्रोल और 9,000 करोड़ लीटर डीजल की जरूरत होती है और अभी हम विश्व के छठे सबसे बड़े उपभोक्ता हैं।
●   2030 तक हम तेल के तीसरे सबसे बड़े उपभोक्ता हो जाएंगे और हमारा इंपोर्ट बिल क्रूड ऑइल पर निर्भर रहता है और यह लगभग 6 लाख करोड़ रुपए है।

देश का पहला बिटकॉइन ट्रेडिंग ऐप प्लूटो एक्सचेंज हुआ लॉन्च

देश का पहला बिटकॉइन ट्रेडिंग ऐप लॉन्च हो गया है। मोबाइल आधारित ऐप्लिकेशन प्लूटो एक्सचेंज गुरुवार को लॉन्च हुआ।
●   अब बिटकॉइन जैसी क्रिप्टोकरंसी (वर्चुअल करंसी) का लेन-देन ऐप के जरिए किया जा सकता है।
●   यह सभी लेन-देन को केवल मोबाइल नंबर के इस्तेमाल के जरिए ही अंजाम देगा।
●   महज 4-डिजिट पिन का उपयोग करके यूजर मोबाइल नंबर के इस्तेमाल से बिटकॉइन की खरीद, बिक्री, स्टोर और उसे खर्च कर सकेंगे।
●   प्लूटो एक्सचेंज के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी भरत वर्मा ने कहा, 'प्लूटो एक्सचेंज का नारा है अनबैंक दि बैंक्ड बैंक' यानी बैंक के काम की जटिलता से लोगों को मुक्त करो।
●   बाजार में पहले से ही मौजूद दूसरे सभी ऐप बिटकॉइन के लेन-देन के लिए बिटकॉइन के पते का उपयोग करते हैं।

हिमाचल प्रदेश के कर्मचारियों के लिये तीन प्रतिशत अतिरिक्त मंहगाई भत्ते की घोषणा

हिमाचल प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री जयराम ठाकुर ने राज्य सरकार के कर्मचारियों के लिए तीन प्रतिशत अतिरिक्त महंगाई भत्ते की आज घोषणा की।
●   यह महंगाई भत्ता एक जुलाई 2017 से देय होगा।
●   राज्य सचिवालय कर्मचारियों को संबोधित करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि अतिरिक्त महंगाई भत्ते का भुगतान जनवरी के वेतन के साथ नकद में किया जाएगा।
●   पेंशन भोगियों को भी यह महंगाई राहत दी जाएगी।
●   उन्होंने कहा कि इससे राज्य पर 180 करोड़ रुपये सालाना का अतिरिक्त बोझा आएगा।
●   उन्होंने इस मौके पर कर्मचारियों से समर्पण भावना के साथ काम करने की अपील की।
●   उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार रोजगार के नये अवसर सृजित करने की कोशिश करेगी हालांकि यह भी कहा कि इसकी संभावनाएं काफी कम हैं।
●   उन्होंने कर्मचारियों से निर्धारित समय से अतिरिक्त काम करने की अपील करते हुये लोगों की सेवा करने को कहा।

दुग्ध उत्पादन बढ़कर पिछले विा वर्ष में 16.37 करोड़ टन हुआ: सिंह

केंद्रीय कृषि मंत्री राधा मोहन सिंह ने आज कहा कि देश का दुग्ध उत्पादन 1960 में जहां 1.7-2.2 करोड़ टन था वहीं यह बढ़कर पिछले विा वर्ष में 16.37 करोड़ टन पर पहुंच गया है।
●   वह डेयरी विकास को लेकर सलाहकार समिति की यहां हुई बैठक को संबोधित कर रहे थे।
●   उन्होंने कहा कि भारत पिछले 15 साल से वि का सबसे बड़ा दुग्ध उत्पादक देश बना हुआ है।
●   इसका श्रेय सरकार की उन मुहिमों को जाता है जिनके तहत दुधारू पशुओं की उत्पादकता बढ़ाने पर केंद्रित विभिन्न योजनाएं अपनायी गयी।
●   उन्होंने कहा कि इसी तरह प्रति व्यक्ति दूध उपलब्धता 2013-14 के 307 ग्राम की तुलना में 14.3 प्रतिशत बढ़कर 2016-17 में 351 ग्राम हो गयी है।
●   डेयरी किसानों की आय भी 2011-14 की तुलना में 2014-17 में 23.77 प्रतिशत बढ़ी है।
●   सिंह ने कहा, पिछले तीन साल के दौरान भारत ने दूध उत्पादन की सालाना वृद्धि 5.53 प्रतिशत रही जो कि वैश्विक वृद्धि दर 2.09 प्रतिशत से काफी आगे रही है।

Instructions for giving details of property to IAS officers

The Central Government has instructed all the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to complete the details of their total assets till January 31, 2018.
●   If the officials do not do this, they may face difficulties in promotion and foreign posting in the coming days.
●   The Central Personnel and Training Department (DOPT) has written a letter to all the departments, states and Union Territories of the central government and asked them to deposit real estate returns (IPR) by 31 January 2018 by the IAS officers.
●   According to DOPT 4 April 2011, the IAS officers who have not submitted the returns of immovable property within the stipulated deadline will not get necessary vigilance clearance for promotions and deployment in foreign countries.
●   According to these 2011 instructions, whatever officers do not provide relevant details, they will not get Vigilance clearance.
●   His name will not be considered in future for his promotion and appointment to senior level post in the Government of India.

Agreement for skill development between Uttar Pradesh and South Korea

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the Cabinet of South Korea recently to promote tourism and trade.

Government to borrow additional Rs 50 thousand crore in January-March

Uttar Pradesh Government launches 'Prakash Hai Hai Vikas Hai' scheme

The Uttar Pradesh Government launched a new scheme to give free electricity connections to the poor families of the state on December 25, 2017.

●   On behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government, the state's power minister Shrikant Sharma started the 'Prakash Hai Hai Vikas Hai' scheme from two villages of Mathura, Lohaban and Gausana.
●   On behalf of the state government, 100 percent electrification of these two villages was electrified.
●   The Central Government has set a target to provide electricity to 1.6 crore people by the end of 2018.

केंद्र सरकार ने देश के सभी भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (आईएएस) के अधिकारियों से 31 जनवरी 2018 तक अपनी कुल संपत्ति का ब्यौरा दर्ज कराने का निर्देश दिया है.
●   अगर अधिकारी ऐसा नहीं करते हैं, तो उन्हें आने वाले वक्त में प्रमोशन और विदेशी पोस्टिंग में मुश्किलें आ सकती हैं.
●   केन्द्रीय कार्मिक और प्रशिक्षण विभाग (डीओपीटी) ने केंद्र सरकार के सभी विभागों, राज्यों और केंद्रशासित प्रदेशों को पत्र लिखकर उनसे आईएएस अधिकारियों द्वारा 31 जनवरी 2018 तक अचल संपत्ति रिटर्न (आईपीआर) जमा कराने को कहा है.
●   डीओपीटी के 4 अप्रैल 2011 के निर्देशानुसार तय समयसीमा के भीतर अचल संपत्ति के रिटर्न नहीं जमा करवाने वाले आईएएस अधिकारियों को प्रमोशन और विदेश में तैनाती के लिए आवश्यक सतर्कता मंजूरी नहीं दी जाएगी.
●   2011 के इन निर्देशों के मुताबिक, जो भी अफसर संबंधित ब्योरा उपलब्ध नहीं कराता है, उसे विजिलेंस क्लीयरेंस नहीं मिलेगी.
●   भविष्य में उनका प्रमोशन और भारत सरकार में सीनियर लेवल पोस्ट पर उनकी नियुक्ति के लिए उनके नाम पर विचार नहीं किया जाएगा.

सऊदी अरब और यूएई में 2018 से 5% वैट

बड़ी संख्या में विदेशी श्रमिकों को रोजगार देकर उन्हें टैक्स-फ्री जीवनशैली का भरोसा देने वाले सऊदी अरब और संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (यूएई) जैसे खाड़ी देश भी अब टैक्स लगाने की तैयारी में हैं।
●   वस्तुओं और सेवाओं पर ये देश अगले साल 5 प्रतिशत टैक्स लगा सकते हैं।
●   तीन साल पहले कच्चे तेल की कीमतों में आई भारी गिरावट के बाद खाड़ी देशों का रेवन्यू काफी कम हो गया था जिसकी पूर्ति करने के लिए सऊदी अरब और यूएई टैक्स लगाने वाले हैं।
●   नया टैक्स या वैट खाना, कपड़ों, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और गैसोलिन के अलावा फोन, पानी, होटल और बिजली बिलों पर भी लगेगा।
●   टैक्स का असर इन देशों में रहने वाले नागरिकों के अलावा घूमने जाने वाले पर्यटकों की जेब भी ढीली करेगा।

चीन-पाक इकॉनोमिक कॉरिडोर में अफगानिस्तान भी शामिल हुआ

अफगानिस्तान के विदेश मंत्री सलाहुद्दीन रब्बानी द्वारा 26 दिसंबर 2017 को चीन का दौरा किया गया.
●   इस दौरान उन्होंने घोषणा की कि अफगानिस्तान भी चीन-पाकिस्तान इकोनॉमिक कॉरिडोर (सीपीईसी) में शामिल होगा.
●   अफगानिस्तान बेल्ट एंड रोड प्रोजेक्ट में सक्रिय रूप से शामिल होने और चीन से सहयोग बढ़ाने हेतु तैयार है.
●   रब्बानी ने चीन के विदेश मंत्री वांग यी और पाकिस्तान के विदेश मंत्री ख्वाजा आसिफ से मुलाकात की.
●   बीजिंग ने पहले ही इस परियोजना में अन्य देशों को भी साझीदार बनने हेतु प्रस्ताव दिया था.
●   भारत द्वारा चीन-पाकिस्तान इकोनॉमिक कॉरिडोर (सीपीईसी) का विरोध किया जा रहा है, क्योंकि इसके तहत पाकिस्तान के कब्जे वाले कश्मीर के बड़े हिस्से में निर्माण प्रस्तावित है.
●   भारत लगभग 60 अरब डॉलर के सीपीईसी को लेकर अपनी संप्रभुता की चिंताओं के कारण इस वर्ष मई में बेल्ट ऐंड रोड फोरम (बीआरएफ) में भी शामिल नहीं हुआ था.
●   चीन और पाकिस्तान लंबे समय से अफगानिस्तान को परियोजना में शामिल करना चाहते थे.

उत्तर प्रदेश और दक्षिण कोरिया के मध्य कौशल विकास हेतु समझौता

उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री तथा दक्षिण कोरिया के मंत्रिमंडल के मध्य हाल ही में पर्यटन और व्यापार को बढ़ावा देने हेतु एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किये गये.
●   इसके साथ-साथ संस्कृति, कृषि और कौशल विकास के क्षेत्र में भी समझौता किया गया.
●   इस समझौता ज्ञापन के अनुसार अयोध्या में कोरिया की राजकुमारी सूरी रत्ना का स्मारक बनाया जायेगा जो दोनों देशों के मध्य सांस्कृतिक रूप से बेहतर होगा.
●   कोरिया ऐसा देश है जिनका राम नगरी अयोध्या से करीबी संबंध रहा है.
●   कोरिया से किम वंश के लोग हर साल अयोध्या आते हैं क्योंकि यहां के लोग अयोध्या को अपना ननिहाल मानते हैं.
●   कोरिया की रानी का मायका यहीं था. इस वजह से कोरिया के लोगों का अयोध्या से खास लगाव भी है.

मशहूर अभिनेता पार्थ मुखोपाध्याय का निधन

बंगाली फिल्मों के मशहूर अभिनेता पार्थ मुखोपाध्याय का 25 दिसम्बर 2017 को एक निजी अस्पताल में दिल का दौरा पड़ने से निधन हो गया. वे 70 वर्ष के थे. वे पिछले कुछ समय से बीमार चल रहे थे.

उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने 'प्रकाश है तो विकास है' योजना आरंभ की

उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने 25 दिसंबर 2017 को राज्य के निर्धन परिवारों को निःशुल्क बिजली कनेक्शन दिए जाने हेतु नई योजना आरंभ की.
●   यह योजना पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी के जन्मदिवस पर आरंभ की गई.
●   उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार की ओर से राज्य के बिजली मंत्री श्रीकांत शर्मा ने ‘प्रकाश है तो विकास है’ योजना का आरंभ मथुरा के दो गांवों लोहबान और गौसाणा से किया.
●   राज्य सरकार की ओर से इन दोनों गांवों का 100 प्रतिशत विद्युतीकरण कर दिया गया.
●   केंद्र सरकार ने वर्ष 2018 के अंत तक 1.6 करोड़ लोगों तक बिजली पहुंचाने का लक्ष्य रखा है.
●   केंद्र सरकार द्वारा सौभाग्य योजना के तहत चार करोड़ लोगों तक बिजली पहुंचाने का लक्ष्य है. इसमें से 25 लाख परिवारों तक बिजली पहुंचाई जा चुकी है.
●   यह राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ के लक्ष्य प्रकाश है तो विकास है को ध्यान में रखते हुए किया जा रहा है.

जनवरी-मार्च में 50 हजार करोड़ रुपये का अतिरिक्त उधार लेगी सरकार

जीएसटी लागू होने के बाद लगातार गिर रहा रेवेन्यू सरकार के लिए चिंता का कारण बना हुआ है।
●   2017-18 में राजकोषीय घाटा टारगेट को पार कर सकता है।
●   इसे देखते हुए सरकार चालू वित्त वर्ष 2017-18 में 50 हजार करोड़ रुपये उधार लेगी।
●   जनवरी से मार्च के बीच यह अतिरिक्त उधार लिया जाएगा, जिससे देश का राजकोषीय घाटा और बढ़ जाएगा।
●   बुधवार को सरकार ने एक आधिकारिक बयान में कहा कि जनवरी से मार्च के बीच गवर्नमेंट सिक्यॉरिटीज से 50 हजार करोड़ रुपये का अतिरिक्त उधार लिया जाएगा।
●   अगले वित्त वर्ष के उधारों में कोई बदलाव नहीं किया जाएगा और वह बजट 2017-18 के मुताबिक ही होगा।
●   रिजर्व बैंक के साथ उधार कार्यक्रम रिव्यू करने के बाद यह तय किया गया है कि सरकार वित्त वर्ष 2017-18 में अतिरिक्त उधार लेगी जो डेटेड गवर्नमेंट सिक्यॉरिटीज से लिया जाएगा।

अमरिंदर सिंह ने पंजाब स्टार्टअप केंद्र की स्थापना को मंजूरी दी

पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री अमरिंदर सिंह ने आज पंजाब स्टार्टअप हब केंद्र के लिए मंजूरी दी।
●   इसके तहत मोहाली में उद्यमियों के लिये एक अत्याधुनिक इन्क्यूबेशन केंद्र स्थापित करने का प्रस्ताव है।
●   एक आधिकारिक विज्ञप्ति के मुताबिक, मुख्यमंत्री ने इसके लिये एक उच्चस्तरीय समिति के गठन को भी मंजूरी दी है।
●   समिति राज्य में इस तरह के केंद्र स्थापित करने की प्रक्रिया में प्रभावित होने वाले लोगों के पुनर्वास और पुन:स्थापन के लिए मसौदा तैयार करेगी।
●   समिति में वितीय आयुक्त राजस्व, प्रधान सचिव ग्रामीण विकास और पंचायत और प्रधान सचिव विा शामिल होंगे।
●   मुख्यमंत्री अमरिंदर सिंह ने पंजाब इंडस्टि्रयल एंड बिजनेस डेवलपमेंट बोर्ड की पहली बैठक की अध्यक्षता करते हुए यह दिशानिर्देश जारी किए।
●   राज्य की नई औद्योगिक नीति के प्रभावी और सरलतापूर्वक कार्यान्वयन सुनिश्चित करने के लिए बोर्ड की स्थापना की गई है।

Center launches Ganga Gram Project

The Central Government launched the Ganga Gram Project in Ganga Gram Sanitation Conference in New Delhi on December 23, 2017.
●   This project is a part of Clean Ganga Mission Namami Ganges.
●   Under this, development of villages along the Ganges river will be ensured with the help of villagers.
●   Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Uma Bharti and Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari were present on the occasion.
●   In August 2017, the central government declared all 4,470 villages free of defecation in open open on the banks of Ganga in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
●   Under the project, 24 of these villages will be developed as Ganga Village.
●   Under the project, work of solid and liquid waste management, renewal of ponds and water resources, water conservation, organic farming, horticulture and medicinal plants will be done.
●   The Ganga village project is to take an integrated approach to the overall development of the villages on the Gangetic coast with active participation of the villagers.

Vijay Rupani becomes Chief Minister of Gujarat for second time

India's first local air-conditioned train starts in Mumbai

Indian Railways have flagged the country's first air-conditioned suburban local train for the passengers of Mumbai on December 25, 2017.
●   This first air-conditioned local train launched on Christmas Eve was run between Borivali and Churchgate of Western Railway.
●   The full operation of this train will start from January 1, 2018, where it will take 12 rounds daily.
●   The services of this train (12 returns, total 12) will be operated in the suburban area in regular intervals on all working days.
●   It will not be circulated only for the purpose of maintenance at week-end.
●   Seats are reserved for the services of AC locals like Divyaang, Senior Citizens and Women passengers like normal local. To maintain normal system in all coaches, RPF jawans will be deployed.
●   The rent for this local train will be 1.2 times the normal first class basic fares for the first six months of the beginning and will be 1.3 times after that.
●   In addition to the normal ticket, only Weekly, Weekly and Monthly Season tickets will be available.
●   The ticket will also be added to MUTP surcharge and 5 percent GST charge.

Sumita Mishra will be the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council, Joint Secretary

Launch of Saubhagya Plan in Madhya Pradesh

In order to provide electricity to the 45 lakh families deprived of power in Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister, Sahitya Laxmi has started every household scheme in Lucknow State.
●   Public sector Rural Electrification Corp. REC said this.
●   According to REC statement, Power and Innovative and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan started the Saubhagya Plan on December 22.
●   There are 45 lakh families deprived of power in the state. These families are proposed to be brought under the purview of Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana and Sadbhavana Yojana.
●   With the introduction of this scheme, 5000 new electrical connections have been released in Rewa district.
●   Saubhagya plan was started in September last year.
●   Under this scheme costing Rs 16,320 crore, there are about 40 million families deprived of power in the country.
●   It includes budgetary support of Rs 12,320 crore.

●   अगस्त 2017 में, केंद्र सरकार ने उत्तराखंड, उत्तर प्रदेश, बिहार, झारखंड और पश्चिम बंगाल के गंगा के तट पर स्थित सभी 4,470 गांवों को खुले में शौच से मुक्त घोषित किया था.
●   आरंभ में परियोजना के तहत इनमें से 24 गांवों को गंगा ग्राम के रूप में विकसित किया जाएगा.
●   परियोजना के तहत ठोस और तरल कचरा प्रबंधन, तालाबों और जल संसाधनों का नवीकरण, जल संरक्षण, जैविक कृषि, बागवानी और औषधीय पौधों को बढ़ावा देने का काम किया जाएगा.
●   गंगा ग्राम परियोजना ग्रामीणों की सक्रिय भागीदारी से गंगा तट पर बसे गांवों के सम्पूर्ण विकास के लिए एकीकृत दृष्टिकोण अपनाना है.

विजय रुपाणी दूसरी बार गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री बने

विजय रूपाणी ने 26 दिसंबर 2017 को गांधीनगर में आयोजित समारोह में गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री पद की शपथ ग्रहण की.
●   विजय रूपाणी को राज्यपाल ओ.पी. कोहली ने पद एवं गोपनियता की शपथ दिलाई. विजय रुपाणी दूसरी बार गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री बने हैं.
●   इस दौरान उप-मुख्यमंत्री नितिन पटेल के अतिरिक्त मंत्रिमंडल के अन्य 19 सदस्यों ने भी शपथ ली.
●   रूपाणी सरकार के मंत्रिमंडल में लगभग 20 मंत्रियों को जगह दी गयी है, जिनमें नौ कैबिनेट मंत्री शामिल हैं.
●   गुजरात मंत्रिमंडल में में सौरभ पटेल, दिलीप ठाकोर, कौशिक पटेल, ईश्वर परमार, भूपेंद्र सिंह चूड़ास्मा ने कैबिनेट मंत्री के रूप में शपथ ली.
●   वहीं राज्य मंत्री के रूप में प्रदीप सिंह जडेजा, बच्चू भाई खाबड़, परबत पटेल, पुरुषोत्तम सोलंकी ने पद और गोपनीयता की शपथ ली.

जयराम ठाकुर हिमाचल प्रदेश के नए मुख्यमंत्री

जयराम ठाकुर हिमाचल प्रदेश के 14वें मुख्यमंत्री होंगे.
●   वे 27 दिसंबर 2017 को शपथ लेंगे. शपथ समारोह में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और भारतीय जनता पार्टी अध्यक्ष अमित शाह भी शरीक होंगे. शिमला में बीजेपी विधायक दल की बैठक में उन्हें सर्वसम्मति से नेता चुन लिया गया.
●   जयराम ठाकुर हिमाचल प्रदेश में राजनीतिक तौर पर महत्वूपर्ण मंडी क्षेत्र के पहले नेता हैं जो मुख्यमंत्री बनने जा रहे हैं.
●   मंडी में ज्यादा सीटें होने के कारण उसे अहम माना जाता है.
●   हिमाचल प्रदेश के अब तक के ज्यादातर मुख्यमंत्री शिमला, कांगड़ा और सिरमौर इलाके से होते थे. मंडी में 10 विधानसभा सीटें हैं जबकि कांगड़ा में 15 विधानसभा सीटें हैं.
●   इस विधानसभा चुनाव में भाजपा ने मंडी की 10 में से 9 सीटों पर कब्जा जमाया था.
●   भाजपा ने 68 सीटों में से 44 सीटों पर जीत दर्ज कर कांग्रेस को सत्ता से बाहर कर दिया है. उन्होंने मुख्यमंत्री की रेस में केन्द्रीय मंत्री जे पी नड्डा को पीछे छोड़ा है.

भारत की पहली लोकल वातानुकूलित ट्रेन मुंबई में आरंभ

भारतीय रेलवे ने 25 दिसंबर 2017 को मुंबई के यात्रियों के लिए देश की पहली वातानुकूलित उपनगरीय लोकल ट्रेन को हरी झंडी दिखाई.
●   क्रिसमस के अवसर पर शुरू की गयी देश की इस पहली वातानुकूलित लोकल ट्रेन को पश्चिम रेलवे के बोरिवली और चर्चगेट के बीच चलाया गया.
●   इस ट्रेन का पूर्ण परिचालन 1 जनवरी 2018 से आरंभ होगा जहां इसके रोजाना 12 चक्कर लगेंगे.
●   इस ट्रेन की सेवाएं (छह वापसी मिलाकर कुल 12) सभी कामकाजी दिनों पर नियमित अंतराल में उपनगरीय क्षेत्र में संचालित की जाएंगी.
●   केवल सप्ताह के अंत में रखरखाव के उद्देश्य से यह परिचालित नहीं होगी.
●   एसी लोकल की सेवाओं में भी सामान्य लोकल की तरह दिव्यांग, वरिष्ठ नागरिक और महिला यात्रियों के लिए सीटें आरक्षित हैं. सभी कोच में सामान्य व्यवस्था बनाए रखने के लिए आरपीएफ जवान तैनात रहेंगे.
●   इस लोकल ट्रेन का किराया शुरुआत के 6 महीनों के लिए सामान्य प्रथम श्रेणी के मूल किराए से 1.2 गुना होगा और उसके बाद 1.3 गुना किया जायेगा.
●   सामान्य टिकट के अलावा केवल साप्ताहिक, पाक्षिक और मासिक सीजन टिकट ही उपलब्ध होगा.
●   टिकट में एमयूटीपी सरचार्ज और 5 प्रतिशत जीएसटी चार्ज भी जोड़ा जाएगा.

सऊदी अरब में योग को मिला खेल का दर्जा

सऊदी अरब की ट्रेड ऐंड इंडस्ट्री मिनिस्ट्री ने स्पोर्ट्स ऐक्टिविटीज के तौर योग सिखाने को आधिकारिक मान्यता दे दी है।
●   सऊदी अरब में अब लाइसेंस लेकर योग सिखाया जा सकेगा।
●   नोफ मारवाई नामक एक महिला को सऊदी अरब की पहली योग प्रशिक्षक का दर्जा भी मिल गया है।
●   योग को खेल के तौर पर सऊदी में मान्यता दिलाने का श्रेय भी नोफ को ही जाता है।
●   नोफ ने इसके लिए लंबे समय तक अभियान चलाया था।
●   अरब योगा फाउंडेशन की फाउंडर नोफ का मानना है कि योग और धर्म के बीच किसी तरह का कॉन्फ़्लिक्ट नहीं है।
●   27 सितंबर 2014 को संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा में योग को वैश्विक तौर पर स्वीकृति मिली थी और 21 जून को हर साल विश्व भर में योग दिवस मनाया जाता है।

भारतीय पुरुष हॉकी टीम छठे, महिला टीम 10वें स्थान पर

भारतीय पुरुष और महिला हॉकी टीमें अंतरराष्ट्रीय हॉकी महासंघ (आईएचएफ) की नवीनतम रैंकिंग में क्रमश: छठे और 10वें स्थान पर बरकरार हैं।

सुमिता मिश्रा प्रधानमंत्री की आर्थिक सलाहकार परिषद में होंगी संयुक्त सचिव

सरकार ने मध्यम स्तर के अधिकारियों के आज तबादले किये। इसके तहत वरिष्ठ नौकरशाह सुमिता मिश्रा को प्रधानमंत्री की आर्थिक सलाहकार परिषद पीएमईएसी में संयुक्त सचिव नियुक्त किया गया।
●   कार्मिक मंत्रालय के आदेश के अनुसार हरियाणा कैडर की 1990 बैच की आईएएस अधिकारी सुमिता को पांच साल के लिये इस पद पर नियुक्त किया गया है।
●   प्रधानमंत्री आर्थिक सलाहकार परिषद का गठन सितंबर में किया गया।
●   इसके अलावा पांच आईएएस अधिकारियों समेत 10 अधिकारियों को विभिन्न केंद्रीय विभागों में संयुक्त सचिव बनाया गया है।
●   नागालैंड कैडर के 1993 बैच के आईएएस अधिकारी अमरदीप सिंह भाटिया को कारपोरेट कार्य मंत्रालय के अधीन आने वाले गंभीर धोखाधड़ी जांच कार्यालय में निदेशक बनाया गया है।
●   वह फिलहाल मंत्रालय में संयुक्त सचिव हैं।
●   आईएएस अधिकारी मुखमीत सिंह भाटिया आर्थिक मामलों के विभाग के अंतर्गत आने वाले 15वें विा आयोग में संयुक्त सचिव होंगे।
●   उनका कार्यकाल पांच साल के लिये होगा।
●   भारतीय आयुध निर्माणी सेवा के 1987 बैच के अधिकारी अमित मेहता उपभोक्ता मामलों के मंत्रालय में संयुक्त सचिव होंगे।

मध्य प्रदेश में सौभाग्य योजना की शुरूआत

मध्य प्रदेश में बिजली से वंचित 45 लाख परिवार को विद्युत उपलब्ध कराने के लिये प्रधानमंत्री सहज बिजली हर घर योजना सौभाग्य राज्य में शुरू की गयी है।
●   सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की रूरल इलेक्ट्िरफिकेशन कारपोरेशन आरईसी ने यह कहा है।
●   आरईसी के बयान के अनुसार, बिजली और नवीन एवं नवीकरणीय र्जा मंत्री आर के सिंह तथा मध्य प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने 22 दिसंबर को सौभाग्य योजना की शुरूआत की।
●   राज्य में बिजली से वंचित कुल 45 लाख परिवार हैं। इन परिवारों को दीनदयाल उपाध्याय ग्राम ज्योति योजना और सौभाग्य योजना के दायरे में लाने का प्रस्ताव है।
●   इस योजना की शुरूआत के साथ रीवा जिले में 5000 नये बिजली कनेक्शन जारी किये गये।
●   सौभाग्य योजना की शुरूआत पिछले साल सितंबर में की गयी।
●   कुल 16,320 करोड़ रुपये की लागत वाली इस योजना के तहत देश में बिजली से वंचित करीब चार करोड़ परिवार को विद्युत उपलब्ध कराना है। इसमें 12,320 करोड़ रुपये का बजटीय समर्थन शामिल है।

Hotels and restaurants can sell bottled water at a higher price than MRP: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has given the order on December 13, 2017 that the hotel and restaurant are not obliged to sell the packed products at the maximum retail price (MRP).
●   The Supreme Court said that the Legal Metrology Act will not be applicable on bottled water sold in hotels and restaurants.
●   Therefore, if they sell these products at a higher price than MRP, then no action can be taken against them.
●   Justice R.F. The bench chaired by Nariman gave this decision, saying that hotels and restaurants are a combination of sales and service, there is a pleasant and comfortable environment in which customers are invested very much.
●   This is not a simple sale issue. No person is going to take only bottles of water in the hotel.
●   The Supreme Court has given this decision in the Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) and the Central Government.
●   FHRAI filed a special leave petition in this regard.

35 years after the ban on cinema was lifted in Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Culture and Information Ministry of Saudi Arabia announced on December 11, 2017 that the restriction imposed on cinema in the country for the past 35 years will be lifted.
●   According to available information, cinemas can be opened in Saudi Arabia by March 2018.
●   In Saudi Arabia, the ban was imposed from the beginning of the 1980s, since that time the demand for the ban was being sought.

American scientists claims Ram Setu to be man-made

Sikh American Gurbir Grewal was nominated for the post of New Jersey Attorney General

Scientists have developed technology to remove water pollution from plastic waste

Indian scientists have developed the technology to remove water pollution from plastic waste.
●   Under this, the researchers of the Indian Toxicology Research Institute in Lucknow have prepared magnetic-sensitive absorbent material from plastic waste, which can be used to remove the pollution from the biopsy called seaflaxin with water.
●   Scientists have developed effective strategies for transforming polyethylene terephthalate (PET) waste into such useful material, which can be helpful in controlling the increasing levels of biological resistant elements in water.
●   With this technique plastic waste will be disposed of as well as water pollution will be removed.
●   Dr Premanjali Roy, who was involved in the study, told that in the controlled conditions, he has been converted into magnetic-sensitive carbon nano-material through carbonization and magnetic transformation by collecting PET refuscions from the surrounding areas.
●   This new low-cost magnetic nano-material, developed by scientists, has the potential to absorb seaflaxin with polluted water.

India and Morocco signed a memorandum of understanding on December 14, 2017 in New Delhi to increase cooperation in healthcare.
●   On behalf of India, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri J. P. Nadda and Health Minister of Morocco, Dr. Abdul Kadir Amara signed the memorandum.
●   On this occasion, a high level delegation of Morocco, including top officials of the Central Health Ministry, was present.

सऊदी अरब के संस्कृति और सूचना मंत्रालय ने 11 दिसंबर 2017 को घोषणा की कि देश में पिछले 35 वर्षों से सिनेमा पर लगाईं गयी रोक को हटा लिया जायेगा.
●   उपलब्ध जानकारी के अनुसार मार्च 2018 तक सऊदी अरब में सिनेमाघर खुल सकते हैं.
●   सऊदी अरब में 1980 के दशक से आरंभ से ही प्रतिबन्ध लगा दिया गया था, उसी समय से यह प्रतिबंध हटाने की मांग की जा रही है.
●   यह निर्णय प्रिंस मोहम्मद बिन सलमान द्वारा आरंभ किये गये सामाजिक और आर्थिक स्थिति को सुधारने के कार्यक्रम 2030 के तहत लिया गया.
●   सऊदी अरब में पहले सिनेमाघर हुआ करते थे लेकिन यह एक रूढ़िवादी मुस्लिम देश रहा है इसलिए इस क्षेत्र में इसे विभिन्न चुनौतियों का सामना करना पड़ता रहा है.
●   इसके बाद 1980 के दशक में धर्म का हवाला देते हुए यहां के अधिकारियों को सिनेमाघरों को बंद करने का निर्णय दिया.
●   हाल ही में सऊदी अरब में महिलाओं के ड्राइविंग करने पर लगी पाबंदी हटाई गई थी.
●   सिनेमाघरों को खोलने से आर्थिक विकास को बढ़ावा मिलेगा तथा समाज में विविधता पैदा होगी.

वैज्ञानिकों ने प्लास्टिक कचरा से जल प्रदूषण दूर करने की तकनीक विकसित की

भारतीय वैज्ञानिकों ने प्लास्टिक कचरा से जल प्रदूषण दूर करने की तकनीक विकसित की है.

●   इसके तहत लखनऊ स्थित भारतीय विष विज्ञान अनुसंधान संस्थान के शोधकर्ताओं ने प्लास्टिक कचरे से चुंबकीय रूप से संवेदनशील ऐसी अवशोषक सामग्री तैयार की है, जिसका उपयोग पानी से सीफैलेक्सीन नामक जैव प्रतिरोधक से होने वाले प्रदूषण को हटाने में हो सकता है.
●   वैज्ञानिकों ने पॉलीएथलीन टेरेफ्थैलेट (पीईटी) के कचरे को ऐसी उपयोगी सामग्री में बदलने की प्रभावी रणनीति तैयार की है, जो पानी में जैव प्रतिरोधक तत्वों के बढ़ते स्तर को नियंत्रित करने में मददगार साबित हो सकती है.
●   इस तकनीक से प्लास्टिक अपशिष्ट का निपटारा होने के साथ-साथ जल प्रदूषण को भी दूर किया जा सकेगा.
●   अध्ययन कर्ताओं में शामिल डॉ प्रेमांजलि राय ने बताया कि आसपास के क्षेत्रों से पीईटी रिफ्यूज एकत्रित कर नियंत्रित परिस्थितियों में उन्हें कार्बनीकरण एवं चुंबकीय रूपांतरण के जरिये चुंबकीय रूप से संवेदनशील कार्बन नैनो-मैटेरियल में परिवर्तित किया गया है.
●   वैज्ञानिकों द्वारा विकसित किए गए कम लागत वाले इस नए चुंबकीय नैनो-मैटेरियल में प्रदूषित पानी से सीफैलेक्सीन को सोखने की बेहतर क्षमता है.

●   इस अवसर पर केन्द्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय के आला अधिकारियों सहित मोरक्को का उच्चस्तरीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल उपस्थित था.

●   इस अवसर पर दोनों देशों के मंत्री मौजूद थे. दोनों देशों के संस्थानों ने टेली-मेडिसन के क्षेत्र में सहयोग पर सहमति व्यक्त की.

फेमिनिज्म वर्ष 2017 का सबसे चर्चित शब्द रहा

विश्व की प्रसिद्ध ऑनलाइन डिक्शनरी मीरियम-वेबस्टर के अनुसार वर्ष 2017 में फेमिनिज्म अर्थात नारीवाद सबसे अधिक सर्च किया गया शब्द है.
●   डिक्शनरी के अनुसार, महिला अधिकारों की मांग व अन्य गंभीर मुद्दों पर वाशिंगटन में आयोजित हुई महिलाओं की परेड के बाद इंटरनेट पर इस शब्द को सर्च किये जाने का ग्राफ तेजी से बढ़ा.
●   इस सूची में डोटर्ड, गैफे व कॉम्पलिसिट जैसे शब्द भी शामिल रहे.
●   विशेष बात यह है कि अधिकतर शब्द अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप के शासन या खुद उनके संदर्भ में इस्तेमाल किए गए.
●   दिसंबर माह तक 2017 में विश्व के कई स्थानों पर महिलाओं ने अपने अधिकारों के लिए इस प्रकार के आयोजन किए.
●   इसके बाद यह चर्चा का विषय बना कि फेमिनिज्म यानी नारीवाद की परिभाषा क्या है.

होटल और रेस्तरां एमआरपी से भी ज्यादा कीमत पर बोतलबंद पानी बेच सकते हैं: सुप्रीम कोर्ट

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने 13 दिसम्बर 2017 को व्यवस्था दी है कि होटल और रेस्तरां अधिकतम खुदरा मूल्य (एमआरपी) पर पैक किए हुए उत्पाद बेचने को बाध्य नहीं हैं.
●   सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा कि होटल और रेस्तरां में बेचे जाने वाले बोतलबंद पानी पर लीगल मेट्रोलोजी एक्ट लागू नहीं होगा.
●   इसलिए यदि वे एमआरपी से भी ज्यादा कीमत पर ये उत्पाद बेचते हैं तो उन पर कोई कार्रवाई नहीं की जा सकती.
●   जस्टिस आर.एफ. नारीमन की अध्यक्षता वाली पीठ ने यह फैसला देते हुए कहा कि होटल और रेस्तरां में बिक्री और सेवा के संयुक्त तत्व होते हैं, यहां ग्राहकों को सुखद और आरामदायक वातावरण दिया जाता है जिसमें काफी निवेश किया जाता है.
●   यह साधारण बिक्री का मसला नहीं है. कोई व्यक्ति होटल में सिर्फ पानी की बोतल लेने नहीं जाता.
●   सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने होटल ऐंड रेस्तरां असोसिएशंस ऑफ इंडिया (एफएचआरएआई) और केंद्र सरकार मामले में यह फैसला दिया है.
●   एफएचआरएआई ने इस सिलसिले में स्पेशल लीव पिटीशन दायर की थी.

अमेरिकी वैज्ञानिकों ने राम सेतु के मानव-निर्मित होने का दावा किया

भारत और श्रीलंका के मध्य समुद्र में मौजूद रामसेतु को लेकर अमेरिकी वैज्ञानिकों ने हाल ही में दावा किया है कि यह मनुष्य द्वारा निर्मित रचना है.
●   वैज्ञानिकों का मानना है कि 83 किलोमीटर लंबे तथा गहरे जल में चूना पत्थर की चट्टानों से बनायी गयी इस संरचना को मनुष्य ने बनाया है.
●   अमेरिका के साइंस चैनल पर दिखाए गये एक शोध कार्यक्रम के अनुसार दुनिया जिसे एडम्स ब्रिज के नाम से जानती है वह मानव निर्मित संरचना है.
●   इसमें अमेरिकन भू-वैज्ञानिकों ने कहा है कि भारत में रामेश्वरम के नजदीक पामबन द्वीप से श्रीलंका के मन्नार द्वीप तक लंबी बनी पत्थरों की यह श्रृंखला मानव निर्मित है.
●   भू-वैज्ञानिकों ने नासा की तरफ से ली गई तस्वीर को प्राकृतिक बताया है.
●   वैज्ञानिकों ने अपने विश्लेषण में पाया कि 30 मील लंबी यह श्रृंखला मानव निर्मित है.
●   विश्लेषण करते समय भू-वैज्ञानिकों ने यह पाया कि यह पत्थर किसी दूर स्थान से लाये गये हैं.

सिख अमेरिकी गुरबीर ग्रेवाल को न्यू जर्सी अटॉर्नी जनरल पद हेतु नामांकित किया गया

सिख अमेरिकी व्यक्ति गुरबीर ग्रेवाल को 12 दिसंबर 2017 को न्यू जर्सी के अटॉर्नी जनरल पद हेतु नामांकित किया गया.
●   वे पहले सिख व्यक्ति हैं जिन्हें इस पद के लिए नामांकित किया गया है. ग्रेवाल को इस पद के लिए डेमोक्रेट गवर्नर फिल मर्फी द्वारा नामांकित किया गया.

Haryana Government will provide free sanitary napkins to poor women

Haryana Government will distribute free sanitary napkins to all women in the category of BPL (below poverty line) across the state.
●   Earlier on December 1, the Haryana government had announced that it is planning to distribute free sanitary napkins for girls in schools across the state.
●   The government also said that state will be free from malnutrition in the coming 3 years.
●   In order to achieve the goal of malnourished Haryana, according to the National Nutrition Mission (NNM) guidelines, the state government will set up a nutrition mission in Haryana.
●   Along with this, the government is implementing various programs to create awareness about malnutrition.
●   To make the state free from malnutrition in the coming 3 years, a separate cell will be set up at the state level for monitoring.
●   The government has also targeted to make Haryana anemic free in three years. Miss World Manishi Chillar has been appointed brand ambassador of this special campaign.
●   The Haryana Government praised the efforts of the state government and the people's support, due to which the monthly average of gender ratio has reached 937, which was 840 before the launch of 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' scheme.

Indian Forest (Amendment) Bill, 2017 presented in the Lok Sabha

The Indian Forest (Amendment) Bill, 2017 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on December 18, 2017.
●   In order to provide cutting and bending to the bamboo grown in non-forest areas, it has been proposed to remove the word 'bamboo' from the definition of tree in the law.
●   Through this Bill, the Forest Act has been amended which is related to the issues of inter-state transport of Basu.
●   It has been proposed in this bill that now the state government's permit will not be required to take the bamboo from one state to another.
●   There are proposals in this bill which are unfavorable to farmers' interests. This will affect the states like Northeast and Odisha.
●   This bill is in the interest of farmers and is not anti-people in any form.
●   Under this, the Indian Forest Act of 1927 has been further amended. In this Act, section 7 of section 2 has defined the tree, which includes palm, bamboo, stub, chandelier and cane.
●   Although bamboo is grass in terms of classification and has been considered tree for the purpose of the said act. Many states have given exemption to the harvesting and emission of different species of bamboo within the states.
●   In the inter-state transport of buses, permission is required for carrying other states.

Niti Aayog to set up methanol economy fund

Niti Aayog of the government has planned to set up a methanol economy fund with a corpus of 4000-5000 crores.
●   Its goal is to promote the production and use of clean fuel through this fund.
●   The objective of the Niti Aayog is to produce high fuel coal by methanol, to produce fuel and to set up such a plant in collaboration with Coal India.
●   According to the Niti Aayog, it will soon announce a cabinet note on methanol economy and also it will set up the production plants very soon.
●   By the end of December, the Niti Aayog is also planning to propose a road map for achieving the goal of increasing methanol as an alternative fuel for petroleum and diesel.
●   Methanol economy fund will be used to promote the use of methanol fuel, which is safe, cheap and pollution free.

Lok Sabha passed the Real Estate (Amendment) Bill

The Lok Sabha cleared the real estate amendment bill on December 20, 2017.
●   The Central Government will be able to issue notice again to the property owner about the acquisition of real estate for security purposes so that he can get a chance to keep his point.
●   This bill was presented by the Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in the lower house which was accepted by voice vote.
●   Responding to the debate on the bill, the Union Minister said that the compensation given to the acquired land is the responsibility of the government and they are committed to giving proper compensation.
●   In the land acquisition, the poor will not be allowed to suffer. This provision has been done for this reason so that the owner of the land can be heard.
●   There are 11 amendments already made in this bill. This 12 amendment has been brought about in terms of limited and special purpose.

●    For the spectacular performance of the players, Sailing Academy's player Harshita Tomar was conferred the award of 'Best Seller of the Year' and Ram Milan Yadav with 'Best Offcoming Cellar' award.
●    'Best Selling Club' award was received by Sports Director and Youth Welfare Upendra Jain.
●    On this occasion, Sailing's Chief Coach GL Yadav was also present.
●    The country's first selling school was established in 2006 at the big lake in Bhopal.

Rohit Sharma fifth in ICC rankings

India opener Rohit Sharma reached the fifth place with a two-figure improvement in the ICC ODI batsmen rankings on the third double century of the series in a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka recently.
●   This is for the first time when Rohit Sharma has crossed 800 points in the rankings. In the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India took the series 2-1 to their name. After the series, Rohit Sharma has 816 points.
●   Rohit Sharma reached the third position in February 2016 in the ranking.
●   In the second ODI against Sri Lanka in Mohali, after an unbeaten 208 not out in the second innings, he had scored 825, which is his highest rating points.
●   Shikhar Dhawan, who was the man of the series to start the innings with Rohit Sharma, also reached number 14 in the rankings with a place improvement.

United Nations General Assembly rejected the proposal to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital

The United Nations General Assembly's member states rejected the US resolution on 21 December 2017 to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
●   The members who do this include 128 countries including India.
●   The UN General Assembly passed a resolution asking the US to withdraw the decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
●   The proposal, proposed by Turkey and Yemen, supports 128 countries, including India.
●   Only nine countries, including the United States and Israel, voted against the proposal.
●   35 countries did not participate in voting on the proposal. Only 9 countries supported the US proposal.
●   Earlier, US President Donald Trump had said that the United States will deduct financial assistance from any country which will vote on its issue on the Jerusalem issue.
●   Countries that voted in opposition to the proposal and supporting US support include Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Palau, Togo and America.

हरियाणा सरकार गरीब महिलाओं को मुफ्त सैनिटरी नैपकिन प्रदान करेगी

हरियाणा सरकार राज्य भर में बीपीएल (गरीबी रेखा से नीचे) की श्रेणी के सभी महिलाओं को मुफ्त सेनेटरी नैपकिन वितरित करेगी.
●   इससे पहले 1 दिसंबर को, हरियाणा सरकार ने घोषणा की थी कि वह राज्य भर में स्कूलों में लड़कियों के लिए मुफ्त सैनिटरी नैपकिन बाँटने की योजना बना रही है.
●   सरकार ने यह भी कहा कि आने वाले 3 वर्षों में राज्य कुपोषण मुक्त हो जाएगा.
●   कुपोषण मुक्त हरियाणा के लक्ष्य को हासिल करने के लिए, राष्ट्रीय पोषण मिशन (एनएनएम) के दिशानिर्देशों के अनुसार राज्य सरकार हरियाणा में पोषण मिशन की स्थापना करेगी.
●   इसके साथ ही कुपोषण के बारे में जागरुकता पैदा करने के लिए सरकार विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों को लागू कर रहीहै.
आने वाले 3 वर्षों में राज्य को कुपोषण मुक्त बनाने के लिए, राज्य स्तर पर निगरानी के लिए एक अलग प्रकोष्ठ स्थापित की जाएगी.
●   सरकार ने तीन साल में हरियाणा को एनीमिया मुक्त बनाने का भी लक्ष्य रखा है. मिस वर्ल्ड मानुषी छिल्लर को इस विशेष अभियान का ब्रांड एंबेसडर नियुक्त किया गया है.

लोकसभा में भारतीय वन (संशोधन) विधेयक, 2017 पेश किया गया

लोकसभा में 18 दिसम्बर 2017 को भारतीय वन (संशोधन) विधेयक, 2017 पेश किया गया. इसमें कटाई और एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान पर ले जाने के लिये गैर वन क्षेत्र में उगे हुए बांस को छूट प्रदान करने के वास्ते कानून में वृक्ष की परिभाषा से ‘बांस’ शब्द का लोप किया जाने का प्रस्ताव किया गया है.
●   इस विधेयक के माध्यम से वन अधिनियम में संशोधन किया गया है जो बासों के अंतरराज्यीय परिवहन के विषय से जुड़ा हुआ है.
●   इस विधेयक में प्रस्ताव किया गया है कि बांस को एक राज्य से दूसरे राज्य में ले जाने के लिये अब राज्य सरकार के परमिट की जरूरत नहीं पड़ेगी.
●   इस विधेयक में ऐसे प्रस्ताव हैं जो किसानों हितों के प्रतिकूल हैं. इससे पूर्वोत्तर और ओडिशा जैसे राज्य प्रभावित होंगे.
●   यह विधेयक किसानों के हित में हैं और किसी भी रूप में जन विरोधी नहीं है.
●   इसके तहत भारतीय वन अधिनियम 1927 का और संशोधन किया गया है. इस अधिनियम में धारा 2 के खंड 7 में वृक्ष को परिभाषित किया है जिसमें ताड़, बांस, ठूंठ, झाड़ और बेंत शामिल हैं.
●   यद्यपि बांस जो वर्गीकरण की दृष्टि से घास है और उक्त अधिनियम के प्रयोजन हेतु वृक्ष माना गया है. कई राज्यों ने राज्यों के भीतर बांसों की विभिन्न प्रजातियों की कटाई और अभिवहन को छूट प्रदान की है.
●   बासों के अंतर राज्यीय परिवहन में अन्य राज्यों से होकर ले जाने के लिये अनुज्ञापत्र (परमिट) की जरूरत होती है.

नीति आयोग मेथनॉल इकोनॉमी फंड स्थापित करेगा

सरकार की थिंक टैंक नीति आयोग ने 4000-5000 करोड़ रुपये के कोष के साथ मेथनॉल इकोनॉमी फंड की स्थापना करने की योजना बनाई है.
●   इसका लक्ष्य इस निधि के माध्यम से स्वच्छ ईंधन के उत्पादन और उपयोग को बढ़ावा देना है.
●   नीति आयोग का उद्देश्य उच्च राख वाली कोयले को मेथनॉल में परिवर्तित करके ईंधन का उत्पादन करना है और इस तरह के एक संयंत्र को कोल इंडिया के सहयोग से स्थापित करना है.
●   नीति आयोग के अनुसार यह जल्द ही मेथनॉल इकोनॉमी पर एक कैबिनेट नोट की घोषणा करेगा और साथ ही यह उत्पादन संयंत्रों की भी शीघ्र स्थापना करेगा.
●   दिसंबर के अंत तक, नीति आयोग पेट्रोलियम और डीजल के वैकल्पिक ईंधन के रूप में मेथनॉल को बढ़ाने के लक्ष्य को हासिल करने के लिए एक रोडमैप प्रस्तावित करने की भी योजना बना रहा है.
●   मेथनॉल इकोनॉमी फंड का उपयोग मेथनॉल ईंधन के उपयोग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए किया जाएगा, जो कि सुरक्षित, सस्ता और प्रदूषण मुक्त है

लोकसभा ने 20 दिसंबर 2017 को अचल संपत्ति संशोधन बिल को मंजूरी दे दी. केंद्र सरकार सुरक्षा उद्देश्यों हेतु अचल संपत्ति के अधिग्रहण के बारे में संपत्ति के मालिक को पुन: नोटिस जारी कर सकेगी ताकि उसे अपनी बात रखने का मौका मिल सके.
●   इस बिल को शहरी विकास मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने निचले सदन में पेश किया जिसे ध्वनि मत से स्वीकार कर लिया गया.
●   केंद्रीय मंत्री ने इस बिल पर बहस के दौरान जवाब देते हुए कहा कि अधिग्रहीत जमीन का मुआवजा देना सरकार की जिम्मेदारी है और वे उचित मुआवजा देने हेतु प्रतिबद्ध है.
●   जमीन अधिग्रहण में गरीबों का नुकसान नहीं होने दिया जाएगा. यह प्रावधान इस वजह से किया गया है ताकि जमीन के मालिक का पक्ष सुना जा सके.
●   इस बिल में पहले भी 11 संशोधन हो चुके हैं. यह 12 संशोधन सीमित और विशेष उदेश्य के लिहाज से लाया गया है.
●   इस विधेयक के जरिए किए जा रहे संशोधन का मकसद सिर्फ रक्षा एवं राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा हेतु अधिग्रहीत जमीन का मुआवजा कब से दिया जाय यह तय करना है.

संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने येरुशलम को इज़रायल की राजधानी के तौर पर मान्यता देने के प्रस्ताव को खारिज किया

संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा के सदस्य देशों ने 21 दिसम्बर 2017 को येरुशलम को इज़रायल की राजधानी के तौर पर मान्यता देने के अमेरिकी प्रस्ताव को खारिज कर दिया.
●   ऐसा करने वाले सदस्यों में भारत समेत 128 देश शामिल हैं.
●   संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने एक प्रस्ताव पारित कर अमेरिका से यरुशलम को इजरायल की राजधानी के तौर पर मान्यता देने के फैसले को वापस लेने को कहा है.
●   तुर्की और यमन की ओर से पेश इस प्रस्ताव का भारत समेत 128 देशों ने समर्थन किया.
●   जबकि अमेरिका और इजरायल समेत सिर्फ नौ देशों ने ही प्रस्ताव के विरोध में वोट दिया. 35 देशों ने प्रस्ताव पर मतदान में हिस्सा नहीं लिया. केवल 9 देशों ने ही अमेरिका के प्रस्ताव का समर्थन किया.
●   इससे पहले अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने कहा था कि जो भी देश यरुशलम के मसले पर उसके पक्ष में वोट देंगे, उन्हें आर्थिक मदद देने में अमेरिका कटौती करेगा.
●   प्रस्ताव के विरोध और अमेरिका के समर्थन में वोट करने वाले देशों में ग्वाटेमाला, होंडुरास, इजरायल, मार्शल आइलैंड्स, माइक्रोनेशिया, पलाउ, टोगो और अमेरिका शामिल रहे

सऊदी अरब में पहली बार महिला गायिका ने सार्वजनिक प्रस्तुति दी

सऊदी अरब के इतिहास में पहली बार किसी महिला को सार्वजनिक रूप से स्टेज पर कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत करने के लिए अनुमति दी गयी.
●   हाल ही में महिला गायिका हीबा तवाजी को यह गौरव प्राप्त हुआ.
●   हीबा तवाजी लेबनान की गायिका हैं.
●   उन्होंने हाल ही में रियाद के किंग फहद कल्चरल सेंटर में कॉन्सर्ट में प्रस्तुति दी.
●   मीडिया में प्रकाशित जानकारी के अनुसार यह कार्यक्रम केवल महिलाओं के लिए ही आयोजित किया गया था.
●   इस ऑल वुमन कार्यक्रम का हज़ारों दर्शकों ने लुत्फ उठाया.
●   गायिका का स्टेज पर स्वागत करते हुए उद्घोषक ने इसे सऊदी के लिए गौरवशाली पल बताया.
●   सऊदी अरब में महिलाओं को सार्वजनिक रूप से प्रस्तुति की अनुमति नहीं दी जाती थी लेकिन हाल ही में सऊदी सरकार ने संगीतार को लाइव प्रस्तुति की इजाजत दी.
●   इसके साथ हीबा अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर ऐसी पहली महिला भी बन गई जिन्होंने सऊदी अरब में कॉन्सर्ट किया. सऊदी अरब में अब महिलाओं के संबंध में अब सकरात्मक फैसले लिए जा रहे हैं.

Cabinet Approves Consumer Protection Bill

Union Cabinet approved the new Consumer Protection Bill on December 20, 2017.
●   Under the provisions of this bill, if companies are misleading or adulterated, they may be fined and jailed.
●   In this bill, people who make misleading advertisements have been penalized and provision has been made for three years.
●   The bill is likely to be introduced in the current session of the Parliament.
●   This bill provides for the first time a fine on a celebrity who has made a deceptive advertisement for a penalty of up to Rs 10 lakh and a one-year restriction.
●   For the second time a penalty of up to Rs 50 lakhs and a provision of up to three years has been made in the offense.
●   The penalty for a penalty of Rs 10 lakh and a two-year jail has been made in the first offense on the product manufacturer and the companies.

Parliament passed the Indian Institute of Management Bill 2017

The Rajya Sabha passed the speech of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bill 2017 after December 19, 2017, passed voiceless.
●   This bill has already been passed from the Lok Sabha. With the passage of the Indian Institute of Management Bill, 2017, the way to declare institutions of national importance to the IIM institutions has become clear.
●   With this, all the 20 Indian Institute of Management (IIM) of the country has now become free from the interference of the government.
●   After becoming the law of this Bill, IIM will get status of national importance.
●   Apart from this, these institutions will also be able to get autonomy so that the students can be given degrees instead of the diploma.
●   Under this bill, now the directors can provide degree of degree and PhD in addition to the appointment of faculty members.
●   By adopting a transparent process, you can also appoint all 20 IIM Board of Governors.
●   IIM will not need the permission of HRD Ministry to appoint a director. Now the board of the institute will be able to appoint chairpersons and directors.

Ministry of External Affairs launches 'Sameep' program

Ministry of External Affairs has launched a new program 'Near', so that Indian students can understand the place of India and its global ambitions in the world and simultaneously prepare diplomacy as a career option.
●   This is an "outreach" mission to explain the foreign policy of India and its global workforce for the students of the country by the Ministry of External Affairs.
●   Under this new program 'Near', the Ministry of External Affairs has asked all its officers, under secretary and above officers to go to their hometown and their former schools, colleges while on leave.
●   There they will interact with students in schools and colleges and will tell how the Ministry of External Affairs works, how India's foreign policy is, how they do diplomacy, etc. so that students think of this area as a career option.
●   Close is a voluntary program and it gives foreign officers the option to go to any school or college in their hometown or their alma mater.

●   This award will be distributed on February 12, 2018.

●   Secretary of the Sahitya Akademi, Dr. K Srinivas Rao announced the Sahitya Akademi and Annual Translation Awards in 24 languages in a press conference.
●   Seven novels, five poems, five short stories, five literary criticisms and a play and essay have been rewarded.
●   This award was given in the English language to The Black Hill by the legendary Mamang Dai.

Alice Perry selected ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year

Australian woman cricketer Alice Perry was selected by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as the Women's Cricketer of the Year.
●   He won the "Rachel Healy Flint Award" on this occasion. This announcement was made by the ICC on December 21, 2017.
●   This award has been commenced by the ICC from this year in memory of England's legendary woman cricketer Heyhoe Flint.
●   Flint was England's World Cup winning team member and former ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. He died in January 2017 at 77 years of age.
●   Thirty-seven-year-old all-rounder Alice Perry scored an unbeaten 203 in the only Ashes Test against England and took three wickets in Sydney.
●   In addition, he scored 905 runs in 19 ODIs and took 22 wickets.
●   Alice scored 28 runs in four Twenty20 matches and also got four wickets.
●   In addition to Perry, New Zealand's Citrehrweight won the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year award.

Birmingham will host Commonwealth Games in 2022

The City of England will host Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022.
●   Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) confirmed this. The British Commonwealth nations participate in these games that take place every four years.
●   Prior to this, the Games hosted the South African city of Durban in 2015, but financial reasons were stripped of the hosting of games from Durban.
●   The last time in Britain was held in Glasgow in 2014. Commonwealth Games 2018 will be held in Australia's Gold Coast.
●   The Commonwealth Games will be held in England for the first time since the hosting of Manchester in 2002.
●   Birmingham had to wait about three months to confirm its name even though the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) was the only city to set the deadline for the end of September.
●   The Commonwealth Games - 2022 will cost $ 900 million in Birmingham 75 percent of this will be paid by the national government and the rest will be raised by City Hall of Birmingham.

साहित्य अकादमी द्वारा वर्ष 2017 हेतु पुरस्कारों की घोषणा

साहित्य अकादमी ने 21 दिसंबर 2017 को हिंदी सहित 24 भाषाओं के लिए पुरस्कार का चयन किया.
●   इस दौरान सात उपन्यास, पांच कविता संग्रह, पांच साहित्यिक आलोचनाओं तथा पांच लघु कथाओं तथा एक नाटक के लिए 2017 के साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार का चयन किया गया. यह पुरस्कार 12 फरवरी 2018 को वितरित किये जायेंगे.
●   हिंदी में रमेश कुंतल मेघ की कृति विमिथकसरित्सागर और उर्दू के बेग एहसास की दखमा सहित 24 भाषाओं की कृतियों को पुरस्कार के लिए चुना गया.
●   साहित्य अकादमी के सचिव डॉ के श्रीनिवास राव ने एक प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में 24 भाषाओं में साहित्य अकादमी और वार्षिक अनुवाद पुरस्कारों की घोषणा की.

मंत्रिमंडल ने उपभोक्ता संरक्षण विधेयक को मंजूरी प्रदान की

केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने 20 दिसंबर 2017 को नए उपभोक्ता संरक्षण विधेयक को मंजूरी प्रदान की.
●   इस विधेयक के प्रावधानों के तहत यदि कंपनियों द्वारा भ्रामक विज्ञापन जारी किये जाते हैं अथवा मिलावट की जाती है तो उन पर जुर्माना और जेल हो सकती है.
●   इस विधेयक में भ्रामक विज्ञापन करने वाले व्यक्तियों पर भी जुर्माने और तीन साल तक प्रतिबंध का प्रावधान किया गया है. विधेयक को संसद के वर्तमान सत्र में ही पेश किए जाने की संभावना है.
●   इस विधेयक में भ्रामक विज्ञापन करने वाले सेलिब्रिटी पर पहली बार अपराध करने पर 10 लाख रुपए तक का जुर्माना और एक साल के प्रतिबंध का प्रावधान है.
●   दूसरी बार अपराध में 50 लाख रुपए तक का जुर्माना और तीन साल तक के प्रतिबंध का प्रावधान किया गया है.
●   उत्पाद निर्माता और कंपनियों पर पहले अपराध में 10 लाख रुपए तक का जुर्माना और दो साल की जेल का प्रावधान किया गया है.

एलिस पेरी आईसीसी महिला क्रिकेटर ऑफ़ इयर चयनित

ऑस्ट्रेलिया की महिला क्रिकेटर एलिस पेरी को अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट परिषद (आईसीसी) द्वारा वर्ष की सर्वश्रेष्ठ महिला क्रिकेटर चयनित किया गया.
●   उन्होंने इस अवसर पर "राशेल हेहोई फ्लिंट अवार्ड" जीता. आईसीसी द्वारा 21 दिसंबर 2017 को यह घोषणा की गयी.
●   आईसीसी द्वारा यह पुरस्कार इंग्लैंड की दिग्गज महिला क्रिकेटर हेहोई फ्लिंट की स्मृति में इसी वर्ष से आरंभ किया गया है.
●   फ्लिंट इंग्लैंड की विश्व कप विजेता टीम की सदस्य और पूर्व आईसीसी क्रिकेट हॉल ऑफ फेमर थीं. उनका जनवरी 2017 में 77 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया था.

बर्मिंघम 2022 में राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों की मेजबानी करेगा

इंग्लैंड का शहर बर्मिंघम वर्ष 2022 में होने वाले राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों की मेजबानी करेगा. राष्ट्रमंडल खेल महासंघ (सीजीएफ) ने इसकी पुष्टि की. हर चार साल में होने वाले इन खेलों में ब्रिटिश राष्ट्रमंडल से जुड़े देश हिस्सा लेते हैं.
●   इससे पहले वर्ष 2015 में खेलों की मेजबानी दक्षिण अफ्रीका के शहर डरबन को मिली थी,लेकिन वित्तीय कारणों डरबन से खेलों की मेजबानी छीन ली गई थी.
●   ब्रिटेन में आखिरी बार वर्ष 2014 में ग्लास्गो में इनका आयोजन किया गया था. राष्ट्रमंडल खेल वर्ष 2018 का आयोजन ऑस्ट्रेलिया के गोल्ड कोस्ट में किया जाएगा.
●   वर्ष 2002 में मैनचेस्टर की मेजबानी के बाद पहली बार राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों को इंग्लैंड में आयोजित किया जाएगा.
●   राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों की महासंघ (सीजीएफ) की सितंबर के आखिर तक की समय सीमा तय करने हेतु एकमात्र शहर होने के बावजूद बर्मिंघम को इसके नाम की पुष्टि के लिए लगभग तीन महीने इंतजार करना पड़ा है.
●   बर्मिघम में राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों-2022 के आयोजन में 90 करोड़ डॉलर का खर्चा आएगा. इसके लिए 75 प्रतिशत राशि का भुगतान राष्ट्रीय सरकार द्वारा किया जाएगा और बाकी का खर्च बर्मिघम के सिटी हॉल द्वारा उठाया जाएगा.

संसद ने भारतीय प्रबंध संस्थान विधेयक 2017 पारित किया

राज्यसभा ने 19 दिसम्बर 2017 को भारतीय प्रबंध संस्थान (आईआईएम) विधेयक 2017 को चर्चा के बाद ध्वनिमत से पारित कर दिया.
●   लोकसभा से यह विधेयक पहले ही पारित हो चुका है. भारतीय प्रबंध संस्थान विधेयक, 2017 पास होने के साथ ही आईआईएम संस्थानों को राष्ट्रीय महत्व की संस्थाएं घोषित करने का रास्ता साफ हो गया है.
●   इसी के साथ देश के सभी 20 भारतीय प्रबंध संस्थान (आईआईएम) अब सरकार की दखलंदाजी से मुक्त हो गए हैं.
●   इस विधेयक के कानून बनने पर आईआईएम को राष्ट्रीय महत्व के संस्थान का दर्जा मिल जायेगा.
●   इसके अलावा इन संस्थानों को स्वायत्तता भी मिल सकेगी जिससे छात्रों को डिप्लोमा की जगह डिग्री दे सकेंगे.
●   इस बिल के तहत अब निदेशकों, फेकल्टी सदस्यों की नियुक्ति करने के अलावा डिग्री और पीएचडी की उपाधि प्रदान कर सकेंगे.
●   पारदर्शी प्रक्रिया अपनाकर सभी 20 आईआईएम बोर्ड ऑफ गनर्वर्स की नियुक्ति भी कर सकेंगे.
●   आईआईएम को डायरेक्टर की नियुक्ति के लिए मानव संसाधन मंत्रालय की अनुमति की जरूरत नहीं पड़ेगी. अब संस्थान का बोर्ड ही चेयरपर्सन और डायरेक्टर्स की नियुक्ति कर सकेगा.

विदेश मंत्रालय ने ‘समीप’ कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत की

विदेश मामलों के मंत्रालय ने एक नए कार्यक्रम ‘समीप’ का शुभारंभ किया है, ताकि भारतीय छात्रों को दुनिया में भारत की जगह और इसकी वैश्विक महत्वाकांक्षाओं की समझ बढ़े और साथ ही कूटनीति को एक कैरियर विकल्प के रूप देखने के लिए तैयार किया जा सके.
●   यह विदेश मंत्रालय द्वारा पूरे देश के छात्रों के लिए भारत की विदेश नीति और उसकी विश्वव्यापी कार्यप्रणाली को समझाने के लिए एक "आउटरीच" मिशन है.
●   इस नए कार्यक्रम ‘समीप’ के तहत, विदेश मंत्रालय ने अपने सभी अधिकारियों, अवर सचिव और उससे ऊपर के अधिकारियों को छुट्टी पर रहने के दौरान अपने गृहनगर और अपने पूर्व स्कूल, कॉलेज जाने के लिए कहा गया है.
●   वहां वे स्कूलों और कॉलेजों में छात्रों के साथ बातचीत करेंगे और यह बताएंगे कि विदेश मंत्रालय किस तरह काम करता है, भारत की विदेश नीति कैसी है, कैसे वे कूटनीति करते हैं, इत्यादि ताकि विद्यार्थी इस क्षेत्र को कैरियर विकल्प के रूप में सोचें.
●   समीप एक स्वैच्छिक कार्यक्रम है और यह विदेशी अधिकारियों को अपने गृहनगर या उनके अल्मा मेटर में किसी भी स्कूल या कॉलेज में जाने का विकल्प प्रदान करता है.

Ganga Gram Project will be inaugurated tomorrow at the Sanitation Conference

The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation is organizing a program in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on December 23, in which Ganga Gram Project will be formally launched for the Namami Ganges program.
●   All relations parties will participate in this program. Its purpose is to bring complete cleanliness in the village situated on the banks of river Ganges.
●   With the active cooperation of 5 Ganga states (Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal) in August 2017, the Ministry declared all the 4470 Ganga villages free of open defecation.
●   Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation is working as a nodal agency for Clean India Mission.
●   After the launch of the mission in October 2014, the Ministry has constructed 5.2 million toilets in 2.95 lakh villages located in 260 districts of 6 states and 2 union territories and declared these villages free of open defecation.
●   After declaring the villages on the banks of Ganga as open to defecation, the Ministry and the State Governments have identified 24 such villages, which will be converted into Ganga Village.

Vice-President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu today unveiled the Plaques of the International Exhibition-cum-Conference Center and the Integrated Transit Corridor Development Plan.
●   On this occasion the Vice President said that the IECC at Pragati Maidan will be an excellent world class campus.
●   He said that the need for such premises was very long, which is located in a main place in the capital.
●   He said that the ICC Project will strengthen the roots of business within India.
●   Vice President said that this kind of conference and exhibition sites are needed in other cities as well.

Plantation program for protection and protection of Ganga

Afforestation activities are an integral part of the grand program of Ganga protection (Namami Ganges) launched by the National Clean Ganga Mission.
●   A detailed project report regarding forest plantation activities for the Ganga was prepared by Forest Research Institute, Dehradun.
●   Five states of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal on the banks of River Ganga, 83,946 km in all basins. Including the area of the river drain area has been aligned.
●   The project has to be implemented in two phases, the first phase is to be implemented in the period of five years from the year 2016 to 2020.
●   The total targeted financial outlay for the five years is Rs. 2293.73 crores.
●   After successful completion of the first phase DPR will be prepared for scaling up and cloning in additional locations for the second phase and will be implemented from 2021 to 2027.
●   This information was given by the Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation and Human Resource Development, Dr. Satyapal Singh in a written reply to a written question in the Rajya Sabha.

Australia discovered missing submarine 103 years after World War I

Australia has solved the biggest knife in its naval history.
●   Australia has discovered its missing submarine in the sea during the first world war 103 years later.
●   This was the 13th mission of submarine inventions, in which Australia was successful.
●   The HMAS AE submarine, patrolling the sea for the German warship, was suddenly disappeared between the New Britain Islands and New Ireland in north-eastern Papua New Guinea on September 14, 1914.
●   At the time the submarine was aboard the 35 Australian Navy members.
●   The submarine was then thoroughly researched but it did not know anything.
●   Now the survey ship Fugro Equator has discovered it in 300 meters of deep water in the 'Duke of York Iceland' near Papua New Guinea coast.
●   Australia's defense minister Marise Payne said on Thursday that the submarine was discovered, "This was the first damage to the Royal Australian Navy.
●   It was the first Allied submarine, which was missing in the First World War. '
●   He told that Fugro Equator also participated in the international search campaign of Malaysian aircraft lost in the Indian Ocean in 2014.

Second Indo-Myanmar-Thailand Motor Rally

The Second Indo-Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Motor Rally (IMT-2) successfully completed its first phase of Guwahati to Bangkok on December 3, 2017.
●   The rally began on November 25, 2017 from Guwahati.
●   A total of 50 participants, including 5 women, participated in 20 SUV trains in this rally.
●   The night stand was in Kohima and Imphal.
●   After this, Thailand's Minister (Commerce) Mr. Tharadol Thongruong showed a green flag to rally in the border town Moreah.
●   After this rally in Myanmar with Kala, Bagan, Mandalay, Yangon and Moulamein reached Bangkok on May 2 and Mayau Sot Border on December 2 and finally reached Bangkok on December 3.
●   The IMT2 motor rally was organized by Kalinga Motor Sports Club in collaboration with Mahindra Adventure.
●   Myanmar and Thailand embassies in India and Indian embassies located in Myanmar and Thailand have supported the rally.
●   Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, Ministry of External Affairs and Land Customs Departments also supported the rally.

TCS-Nielsen India's Biggest IT Outsourcing Deal

An Indian IT company has made the biggest deal till now on the scale of outsourcing.
●   Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has a deal with the Television Rating Management Agency at $ 2.25 billion (144.1 billion).
●   This deal can be considered as the first milestone of TCS's new chief Rajesh Gopinathan tenure.
●   Rajesh Gopinathan took the place of N Chandrasekaran in February only.
●   Under this deal, TCS will complete all the work related to Nielsen's outsourcing for the next three years i.e. by 2020.
●   Through this deal, TCS will make Nielsen a three-year (2017-2020) $ 320 million business turnover.
●   From 2021 to 2024, the potential annual revenue of the company is being seen at $ 186 million and in 2025 at $ 139.5 million.
●   This deal, which took place in October this year, was a renewal of TCS and Nielsen Partnership.
●   The deal between these companies was $ 1.2 billion (Rs 76.8 billion) in 10 years in 2008, which was increased to three years in 2013 and almost doubled to $ 2.5 billion ($ 160.1 billion) in 2013.

किसी भारतीय आईटी कंपनी ने आउटसोर्सिंग के पैमाने पर अब तक की सबसे बड़ी डील की है।
●   टाटा कंसल्टेंसी सर्विस (टीसीएस) ने टेलिविजन रेटिंग प्रबंधन एजेंसी के साथ 2.25 बिलियन डॉलर (144.1 अरब रुपए) में एक डील की है।
●   इस डील को टीसीएस के नए प्रमुख राजेश गोपीनाथन के कार्यकाल का पहला मील का पत्थर माना जा सकता है।
●   राजेश गोपीनाथन ने फरवरी महीने में ही एन चंद्रशेखरन की जगह ली है।
●   इस डील के अंतर्गत टीसीएस अगले तीन सालों तक यानी कि साल 2020 तक नीलसन के सभी आउटसोर्सिंग से जुड़े कामों को पूरा करेगी।
●   टीसीएस इस डील के जरिए नील्सन तीन साल तक (2017-2020) 320 मिलियन डॉलर का कारोबार उपलब्ध करवाएगी।
●   2021 से 2024 तक कंपननी के संभावित वार्षिक राजस्व को 186 मिलियन डॉलर और 2025 में 139.5 मिलियन डॉलर के स्तर पर देखा जा रहा है।
●   इसी साल अक्टूबर महीने में हुई यह डील टीसीएस और नील्सन की पार्टनरशिप का रिन्यूअल भर है।
●   इन कंपनियों के बीच 2008 में 10 साल के लिए डील 1.2 बिलियन डॉलर (76.8 अरब रुपए) में डील हुई थी जिसे 2013 में तीन साल और बढ़ाकर लगभग दोगुना 2.5 बिलियन डॉलर (160.1 अरब रुपये) कर दिया गया।

ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने 103 साल बाद खोजी प्रथम विश्वयुद्ध में लापता पनडुब्बी

ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने अपने नौसेना इतिहास की सबसे ब़़डी गुत्थी सुलझा ली है।
●   ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने प्रथम विश्वयुद्ध के दौरान समुद्र में लापता अपनी पनडुब्बी को 103 साल बाद खोज निकाला है।
●   पनडुब्बी की खोज का यह 13वां अभियान था, जिसमें ऑस्ट्रेलिया को सफलता हाथ लगी।
●   जर्मनी के युद्धपोत के लिए समुद्र में गश्त कर रही एचएमएएस एई1 पनडुब्बी 14 सितंबर, 1914 को उत्तर--पूर्वी पापुआ न्यू गिनी स्थित न्यू ब्रिटेन द्वीप समूह और न्यू आयरलैंड के बीच अचानक लापता हो गई थी।
●   पनडुब्बी पर उस वक्त ऑस्ट्रेलियाई नौसेना के 35 सदस्य सवार थे।
●   तब पनडुब्बी की काफी खोजबीन की गई थी लेकिन उसका कुछ पता नहीं चला था।
●   अब सर्वेक्षण जहाज फगरो इक्वेटर ने इसे पापुआ न्यूगिनी तट के करीब 'द ड्यूक ऑफ यॉर्क आइसलैंड्स' में 300 मीटर गहरे पानी में खोज निकाला है।
●   ऑस्ट्रेलिया की रक्षा मंत्री मैरिस पायने ने पनडुब्बी को खोजे जाने की जानकारी देते हुए गुरवार को यहां कहा, 'रॉयल ऑस्ट्रेलियाई नौसेना की यह पहली क्षति थी।
●   यह प्रथम विश्वयुद्ध में लापता हुई मित्र देशों की पहली पनडुब्बी थी।'
●   उन्होंने बताया कि फगरो इक्वेटर ने 2014 में हिंद महासागर में गुम हुए मलेशियाई विमान के अंतरराष्ट्रीय खोज अभियान में भी हिस्सा लिया था।

स्वच्छता सम्मेलन में कल गंगा ग्राम परियोजना का शुभारंभ किया जाएगा

पेयजल व स्वच्छता मंत्रालय 23 दिसम्बर को नई दिल्ली के विज्ञान भवन में एक कार्यक्रम आयोजित कर रहा है, जिसमें नमामि गंगे कार्यक्रम के तहत गंगा ग्राम परियोजना को औपचारिक रूप से लांच किया जाएगा।
●   इस कार्यक्रम में सभी संबंध पक्ष भाग लेंगे। इसका उद्देश्य गंगा नदी के तट पर स्थित गांव में सम्पूर्ण स्वच्छता लाना है।
●   अगस्त, 2017 में 5 गंगा राज्यों (उत्तराखंड, उत्तर प्रदेश, बिहार, झारखंड और पश्चिम बंगाल) के सक्रिय सहयोग से मंत्रालय ने सभी 4470 गंगा गांवों को खुले में शौच से मुक्त घोषित किया था।
●   पेयजल व स्वच्छता मंत्रालय स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के लिए नोडल एजेंसी के रूप में कार्य कर रही है।
●   अक्टूबर, 2014 में मिशन के लांच होने के बाद मंत्रालय ने 6 राज्यों व 2 केंद्रशासित प्रदेशों के 260 जिलों में स्थित 2.95 लाख गांवों में 5.2 करोड़ शौचालयों का निर्माण किया है और इन गांवों को खुले में शौच से मुक्त घोषित किया है।
●   गंगा तट पर बसे गांवों को खुले में शौच से मुक्त घोषित करने के पश्चात मंत्रालय व राज्य सरकारों ने 24 ऐसे गांवों की पहचान की है, जिन्हें गंगा ग्राम के रूप में परिवर्तित किया जाएगा।

लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल बी.एस.सहरावत ने एनसीसी महानिदेशक का कार्यभार संभाला

लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल बी.एस.सहरावत ने राष्ट्रीय कैडेट कोर (एनसीसी) के महानिदेशक का पदभार संभाल लिया है।
●   जनरल ऑफिसर तीसरी पीढ़ी के सेना अधिकारी हैं।
●   वह राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी खड़कवासला तथा भारतीय सैन्य अकादमी, देहरादून के विद्यार्थी रहे हैं।
●   उन्हें दिसम्बर 1980 में कुमाऊं रेजमेंट की 13वीं बटालियन (रेजांग ला) में कमीशन किया गया था।
●   लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल बी.एस.सहरावत ने प्रतिष्ठित एनडीसी कोर्स सहित सभी पेशेवर कोर्स लिए है।
●   लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल बी.एस.सहरावत उस्मानिया विश्वविद्यालय, हैदराबाद से प्रबंधन अध्ययन में पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट हैं और उन्होंने मद्रास विश्वविद्यालय से एम.फिल किया है।

दूसरी भारत-म्यांमार-थाईलैंड मोटर रैली

दूसरी भारत-म्यांमार-थाईलैंड मित्रता मोटर रैली (आईएमटी-2) ने 3 दिसम्बर, 2017 को गुवाहटी से बैंकाक तक का अपना पहला चरण सफलता पूर्वक सम्पन्न किया।
●   रैली की शुरूआत 25 नवम्बर, 2017 को गुवाहटी से हुई थी।
●   इस रैली में 20 एसयूवी गाड़ियों में 5 महिलाओं सहित कुल 50 प्रतिभागियों ने हिस्सा लिया।
●   रात्रि पड़ाव कोहिमा और इम्फाल में था।
●   इसके बाद थाईलैंड के मंत्री (वाणिज्य) श्री थाराडोल थोंगरूअंग ने सीमावर्ती शहर मोरेह में रैली को हरी झण्डी दिखाई।
●   इसके पश्चात म्यांमार में कलय, बगन, मंडले, यंगोन और माउलेमाइन होते हुए रैली 2 दिसम्बर को थाईलैंड के मैय सोट बार्डर और अन्ततः 3 दिसम्बर को बैंकाक पहुंची।
●   आईएमटी 2 मोटर रैली का आयोजन कलिंग मोटर स्पोर्टस क्लब ने महिन्द्रा एडवेंचर के सहयोग से किया है।
●   भारत में म्यांमार और थाईलैंड के दूतावासों तथा म्यांमार और थाईलैंड स्थित भारतीय दूतावासों ने रैली को सहयोग प्रदान किया।

रक्षा राज्य मंत्री श्री सुभाष भामरे ने आज भारतीय नाभिकीय औषधि सभा के 49वें वार्षिक सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन किया।
●   इस अवसर पर अपने संबोधन में श्री भामरे ने कहा कि चिकित्सा विज्ञान में प्रगति से जीवन स्तर में अहम सुधार आया हैं।
●   इस प्रगति के कारण जीवन आशा में वृद्धि, अभी तक असाध्य रही बीमारियो का इलाज और मानव शरीर को समझने की क्षमता में वृद्धि हो पाई है।
●   उन्होंने कहा गत कुछ वर्षो में नाभिकीय औषधि की भूमिका में अहम गति आई है।
●   भामरे ने कहा कि डीआरडीओ की अनुसंधान प्रयोगशाला, नाभिकीय औषधि और संबद्ध विज्ञान संस्थान (इनमास) नाभिकीय औषधि के अनुसंधान में अहम भूमिका निभाकर परमाणु ऊर्जा के शांतिपूर्ण प्रयोग को बढ़ा रही है।
●   इनमास ने हमेशा से विकिरण और इमेजिंग विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में शैक्षिक विकास से प्रभावी भूमिका निभाई है।
●   इनमास का योगदान रक्षा मंत्रालय द्वारा समाज के हित के लिए अनुसंधान गतिविधियो को सहयोग का एक श्रेष्ठ उदाहरण है।

गंगा संरक्षण तथा सफाई हेतु वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम

वनरोपण कार्यकलाप राष्ट्रीय स्वच्छ गंगा मिशन द्वारा शुरू किए गए गंगा संरक्षण (नमामि गंगे) के वृहत कार्यक्रम का एक अभिन्न कार्यकलाप है।
●   गंगा के लिए वन रोपण कार्यकलापों के संबंध में एक विस्तृत परियोजना रिपोर्ट वन अनुसंधान संस्थान, देहरादून द्वारा तैयार की गई थी।
●   गंगा नदी के तट पर स्थित पांच राज्यों उत्तराखंड, उत्तर प्रदेश, बिहार, झारखंड और पश्चिम बंगाल में सभी बेसिन में 83,946 कि.मी. के क्षेत्र को शामिल करते हुए नदी निकास क्षेत्र को संरेखित किया गया है।
●   परियोजना को दो चरणों में कार्यान्वित किया जाना है, पहले चरण को वर्ष 2016 से 2020 की पांच वर्षों की अवधि में कार्यान्वित किया जाना है।
●   पांच वर्षों के लिए कुल लक्षित वित्तीय परिव्यय 2293.73 करोड़ रूपए है।
●   पहले चरण के सफलतापूर्वक पूरा होने के पश्चात दूसरे चरण के लिए डीपीआर को अतिरिक्त स्थलों में स्कैलिंग अप और प्रतिरूपण के लिए तैयार किया जाएगा तथा वर्ष 2021 से 2027 तक कार्यान्वित किया जाएगा।
●   यह जानकारी केंद्रीय जल संसाधन, नदी विकास और गंगा संरक्षण एवं मानव संसाधन राज्य मंत्री डॉ. सत्यपाल सिंह ने राज्य सभा में एक लिखित प्रश्न के उत्तर में दी।
