Punjab Beas Railway station cleanest in India
Punjab's Beas railway station was ranked the highest in cleanliness in a passenger feedback survey carried out by the Railway Ministry.
• The survey also ranked Bihar's Madhubani railway station the last in cleanliness.
• The survey, involving 1.3 lakh passengers in 407 railway stations, was conducted as a part of Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu's 'Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat' initiative.
• Out of the 40 different cleanliness parameters passengers rated stench at stations as their top concern, followed by lack of dustbins and unclean platforms.
• Every passenger was asked to rate the stations cleanliness on 40 different parameters. Out of these absence of stench in the station premises was the most important for the passengers; this was followed by "adequate availability of dustbins".
• The primary audience for the survey was passengers. Porters and vendors on the platform or ticketed area and railway officials were also approached for their feedback.
पंजाब के ब्यास रेलवे स्टेशन को रेलवे मंत्रालय द्वारा आयोजित एक यात्री प्रतिक्रिया सर्वेक्षण में साफ-सफाई में सर्वोच्च स्थान मिला ।
• सर्वेक्षण में बिहार के मधुबनी रेलवे स्टेशन को साफ-सफाई में अंतिम स्थान मिला।
• सर्वेक्षण में 407 रेलवे स्टेशनों से 1.3 लाख यात्रियों को शामिल किया गया . इस सर्वेक्षण को रेल मंत्री सुरेश प्रभु के 'स्वच्छ रेल स्वच्छ भारत ' पहल के एक हिस्से के रूप में आयोजित किया गया।
• 40 विभिन्न मानकों के आधार पर शीर्ष चिंता के रूप में स्टेशनों पर बदबू को दर्ज़ किया गया जो साफ-सफाई की कमी, कचरे के डिब्बे न होने और अशुद्ध प्लेटफार्मों के कारण है ।
• हर यात्री को 40 विभिन्न मानकों पर स्टेशनों की साफ-सफाई को मापने के लिए कहा गया था। इनमे से स्टेशन परिसर में बदबू सबसे उपर रहा जिसका कारण यात्रियों के लिए सबसे महत्वपूर्ण था कचरे के डिब्बे की पर्याप्त उपलब्धता का न होना था ।
• सर्वेक्षण के लिए प्राथमिक रूप से यात्रियों को ही चुना गया था। कुलियो, टिकट काटने वालों,और रेलवे अधिकारियों के साथ साथ स्टेशन पर मौजूद विक्रेताओं को भी उनकी प्रतिक्रिया के लिए संपर्क किया गया।
