Prime Minister addresses nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on 70th Independence Day
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today addressed the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on 70th Independence Day.
• Shri Narendra Modi paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, and countless people, who sacrificed their lives so that Swarajya could be attained.
• 125 crore Indians have now resolved to complete the journey from Swarajya to “Suraj.” He said the achievement of Suraj will require sacrifice, hard work, discipline, dedication and courage, and added that every institution from Panchayat to Parliament must work unitedly towards this goal.
• The Prime Minister said that there was a time when allegations engulfed the Government. He said that this Government, instead, is surrounded by expectations. He said that when hope gives rise to expectations, it gives us energy to move faster towards Suraj.
• The Prime Minister defined various attributes of Suraj, such as Sensitivity, Responsibility, Accountability, Transparency, Efficiency and Good Governance. He illustrated each of these attributes through examples of the working of the Union Government, in areas such as online registration in major hospitals, promptness of income tax refunds, speeding up the process of passport delivery, faster company registrations, and ending interviews for Group C and Group D positions in the Government.
• The Prime Minister announced some new initiatives. He said the pension for freedom fighters would be enhanced from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 30,000 per month. He said the Government would work towards creation of museums and memorials dedicated to the Adivasi freedom fighters across the country. Government would bear expenses upto one lakh rupees for the poor, towards meeting the cost of hospitalization.
श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने महात्मा गांधी, सरदार पटेल, पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू तथा असंख्य लोगों को अपनी श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की, जिन्होने अपने जीवन का बलिदान दिया ताकि स्व्राज्य प्राप्त किया जा सके।
• उन्होंने कहा कि 125 करोड़ भारतीयों ने अब यह संकल्प लिया है कि वे स्वराज्य से ‘सुराज’ की यात्रा को पूरा करेंगें। उन्होंने कहा कि सुराज की प्राप्ति के लिए, त्याग, कड़े परिश्रम, अनुशासन, समर्पण और साहस की आवश्यकता होती है और उन्होंने कहा कि पंचायत से लेकर संसद तक प्रत्येक संस्था को इस लक्ष्य की दिशा में मिलजुल कर काम करना होगा।
• प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि एक समय था कि जब सरकार आरोपों से आकंठ डूबी हुई थी। उन्होंने ने कहा कि यह सरकार इसकी बजाय आकांक्षाओं से घिरी हुई है। उन्होंने कहा कि जहां उम्मीद आकांक्षाओं को बढ़ावा देती है, वहीं इससे सुराज की ओर तेज़ी से बढ़ने की ऊर्जा भी मिलती है।
• प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि वे सरकार द्वारा किए गए कार्य पर प्रकाश नहीं डालना चाहते अपितु सरकार के कार्य-संस्कृति का उल्लेख करना चाहेंगे।
• प्रधानमंत्री ने संवेदनशीलता, दायित्व, जवाबदेही, पारदर्शिता, दक्षता तथा सुशासन जैसे सुराज के विभिन्न तत्वों को परिभाषित किया। उन्होंने प्रमुख अस्तपतालों में पंजीकरण, आयकर रिफण्ड की तत्परता से वापसी, पासपोर्ट डिलीवरी प्रक्रिया में तेज़ी से कंपनी का पंजीकरण तथा सरकारी नौकरियों में समूह ग और समूह घ के पदों के लिए साक्षात्कार समाप्त किए जाने के केंद्र सरकार के कामकाज के उदाहरणों के माध्यम से इन प्रत्येक तत्वों को समझाने को प्रयास किया।
• प्रधानमंत्री ने राष्ट्र को आगे ले जाने की दिशा में आम संकल्प लेने का लोगों से आह्वान किया। प्रधानमंत्री ने कुछ नई पहल की भी घोषणा की। उन्होंने कहा कि स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों की मासिक पेंशन 25 हजार रुपये से बढ़ाकर 30 हजार रूपये कर दी गई है। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि सरकार देश भर में आदिवासी स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों को समर्पित संग्रहालयों और स्मारकों के निर्माण की दिशा में काम करेगी। सरकार निर्धन लोगों के लिए अस्पताल में ईलाज की लागत पर एक लाख रुपये तक खर्च वहन करेगी।
