National cabinet approved to set up National Nutrition Mission

In the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has given its approval for the establishment of the National Mission on Nutrition (NNM) starting from 2017-18 with a budget of Rs 9046.17 crore.
●    NNM will monitor, supervise, guide and guide the nutritional interventions of the ministries as a top body.
●    This program will take measures to reduce the level of weight loss of children, short nutrition, deficiency of blood and at the time of birth, through targets.
●    It will be encouraged to work, guide and monitor the Ministry and States / Union Territories for better coordination, to maintain synergy for action on time and to achieve the desired goals.
●    More than 100 million people will benefit from this program. 
●    All states and districts will be covered in Phase-i.e. in 315 districts in 2017-18, 235 districts in 2018-19 and remaining districts in 2019-20.


S. K. Chaurasia Appointed as DG, Ordnance and President, Ordnance Factory Board

Mr. Sunil Kumar Chaurasia, IOFS has been appointed as the new Director General, Ordnance Factory (DGOF) and President, Ordnance Factory Board (OFD) from December 1, 2017.
●    Earlier, the members were the Ordnance Factory and were looking after the work of the Department of Materials and Purchase.
●    After taking a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Jabalpur, he took a M.Tech degree from IIT Kharagpur and Mr. Chaurasia presented the Indian Ordnance Factory in 1981.
●    Government of India sent them a joint republic to MBA.
●    Thereafter, Mr. Chaurasia was present in the Indian Public Administration Institute in New Delhi during the service training and he was awarded the degree of MPhil.
●    During his service in the Ordnance Factory, he achieved very rich and diverse experience in production and operational management, arms and ammunition production.
●    He has made extensive tour around the world with his official work.
●    Shri Chaurasia was selected from the year 1992 to 1997 to work as a Deputy Secretary and then to work as Director in the Ministry of Defense.

Special campaign to celebrate Armed Forces Flag Day


Since 1949, Armed Forces Flag Day is celebrated every year on 7th December throughout the country to honor the soldiers fighting our borders to protect the honor of the martyrs and the country.
●    In order to help such Divyang ex-servicemen, war widows, children of martyrs and other such beneficiaries, the Armed Forces flag day fund was established in 1993, which requires our care and support.
●    This year, the Ministry of Defense is organizing digital week campaign from 1 to 7 December 2017, which will be celebrated as Armed Forces Week.
●    This campaign will be celebrated as expressing solidarity with the Armed Forces personnel of the entire country.
●    The aim of this campaign is to create awareness about the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund and encourage people to liberally contribute.
●    This campaign is to ensure the support of the whole country for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families.

Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) signed two Indian Advance Price Agreements (APAs) in November 2017

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has made bilateral advance pricing agreements (APAs) during November 2017. 
●    These agreements are the first bilateral APA with the Netherlands.
●    With the signing of these agreements, the total number of APA registered by CBDT has increased to 186.
●    It includes 171 one-way APAs and 15 bilateral APAs.
●    These two are related to the electronics and technology sectors of the APA economy.
●    These agreements include distribution in international transactions, providing marketing support services, arranging business associate services etc.
●    The APA provisions were introduced in the Income Tax Act in the year 2012 and the "rollback" provisions were introduced in the year 2014.
●    The APA scheme attempts to provide certainty for taxpayers in the area of transfer value by specifying pricing methods and by determining prices.
●    The APA scheme has been well received by the taxpayers only from its establishment.
●    The progress of the APA scheme strengthens the government's resolve to promote non-adverse tax regime.

Foreign exchange reserves rise to $ 400 billion


According to the weekly data of the Reserve Bank of India, the country's foreign exchange reserves rose by $ 1.208 billion to $ 400 billion in the week ending on November 24 and reached $ 400.741 billion.
●    In the previous weekend, the country's foreign exchange reserves rose by $ 24.04 million to $ 399.533 billion.
●    The Reserve Bank of India said today that due to the acceleration in foreign exchange assets, the country's foreign exchange reserves have increased.
●    In the review week, the important part of the total foreign exchange reserves, i.e. Foreign Currency Assets: FCA: $ 12.08 billion to $ 376.304 billion.
●    In the FCA to be expressed in the US dollar, the effects of non-monetary currencies such as the Euro, Pound and Japanese Yen kept in the money reserve are: the effects of devaluation are included.
●    Gold reserves remained unchanged at $ 20.666 billion.
●    It has said that the IMF has reduced the country's monetary reserves by two million dollars to $ 2.272 billion.

Seminar on the Strategic Challenges of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) due to the changing nature of conflict in the campaigns of keeping peace

Due to 'the changing nature of conflict in the campaigns of keeping peace', a joint seminar is being organized from 30 November to 1 December 2017 at the Standards Center New Delhi between ICRC and CUnp on the strategic challenges of International Humanitarian Law (IHL).
●    In the changing form of armed conflicts in the seminar and its impact on the maintenance of IHL and peace, the impact of armed struggle on the sensitive population and policies to deal with these challenges, how technology can be helpful in solving the challenges faced by them, Etc. will be focused on locating.

CWPRS Pune and CSMRS New Delhi get ISO certificate

The ISO 9001: 2015 certificate has been given to the Central Water and Electrical Research Center (CWPRS), Pune, under the Sub-Office of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Protection Ministry.
●    This certificate has been given to this center for research and development (R & D) support and consultation through specific / original hydraulic research for project related to water resources electricity and coastal engineering.
●    CWPRS is the main central agency to meet the R & D needs of hydraulics and allied subjects to develop safe and economical design of hydraulic structures in water resources projects, river engineering, power generation and coastal engineering projects. Does.
