commitment by all nations: “ASEAN 2025: Forging Ahead Together” that means, the focus of ASEAN 2025 will be on strengthening the community on political, economic and socio-cultural fronts, the grouping stated.  
- Benefits of the declaration:
1. increased economic opportunities 
2. access to quality jobs, wider choices and better quality products and services
3. region would benefit from enhanced sustainable environmental governance and practices
4. ease of intra-ASEAN travel 
5. ease of doing business and mobility of skilled labour.
About ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations)
- Established: 1967 by Bangkok Declaration.
- Setretariat: Jakata, Indonesia.
- political and economic organization of ten Southeast Asian countries.
- 10 members are: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Phillipines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.2 observers: Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea.
- Main Objectives:
1. To accelerate economic growth, social progress, and cultural development in the region.
2. To promote regional peace and stability.
3. To promote collaboration and mutual assistance on matters of common interest.
4. To provide assistance to each other in the form of training and research facilities.
5. To collaborate for the better utilisation of agriculture and industry to raise the living standards of the people.
6. To promote Southeast Asian studies.
