National
PM inaugurates future-ready Ayurveda institutions at Jamnagar and Jaipur
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA) at Jamnagar and National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) at Jaipur on 5th Ayurveda Day via video conferencing.
• These institutions are expected to play global leadership roles in the growth and development of Ayurveda in the 21st Century.
• This will provide them the autonomy to upgrade the standard of Ayurveda education, frame various courses as per emerging national and international demand.
S. Jaishankar Represents India at 15th East Asia Summit 2020
• The External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar represented India at the 15th East Asia Summit (EAS) on 14 November 2020 on behalf of PM Modi.
• The Summit was chaired by the Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc because Vietnam is ASEAN Chair in 2020 (ASEAN holds the central role and leadership in the forum).
• All the 18 EAS countries participated in the virtual Summit.
Harsh Vardhan attends 8th BRICS Science, Technology and Innovation Ministerial Meet
• The 8th BRICS Science, Technology and Innovation Ministerial meeting was held on 13 November 2020 through a virtual platform for Science and Technology cooperation among the member countries, which are Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
• The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Russian Federation. (Russia is the Chair for 12th BRICS Summit)
• The Union Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Harsh Vardhan represented the Indian delegation at the meeting
• The meeting concluded with the adoption of BRICS STI Declaration 2020.
International
China successfully sends world’s first 6G communications test satellite into orbit
• China successfully launched 13 satellites into orbit with a single rocket, including the world’s first 6G experiment satellite.
• The satellites were launched into the orbit from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in the Shanxi Province from Long March-6 carrier rocket
• With the launch of 6G communications test satellite, China has become the world’s first country to test 6G technology.

Bangladeshi teen Sadat Rahman wins International Children’s Peace Prize 2020
• Sadat Rahman from Bangladesh has been awarded the prestigious International Children’s Peace Prize 2020.
• The award was presented to 17-year-old Sadat by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai on 13 November 2020, during a ceremony in the Netherlands. He was selected out of 142 applicants from 42 countries.
• He was awarded the prize for his involvement in setting up his social organization and mobile app ‘Cyber Teens’ to stop cyberbullying.
• The International Children’s Peace Prize is given annually since 2005 by the International children’s rights organization KidsRights based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

India Successfully Test Fires Quick Reaction Surface-To-Air Missile off Odisha Coast
• India successfully test-fired the Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile (QRSAM) system off the coast of Balasore in Odisha on 13 November 2020.
• The system achieved a major milestone by a direct hit on to a Banshee Pilotless target aircraft at medium range and medium altitude.
• The QRSAM system has been developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in association with Bharat Electronics Limited and Bharat Dynamics Limited for the Indian Army

A New Book on Gulzar “Boskiyana” by Radhakrishna Prakashan
• ‘Boskiyana’, a new Hindi book on Gulzar, veteran Indian poet-lyricist has been published by Radhakrishna Prakashan. The book portrays the life of Gulzar through his films, poetry, philosophies, lifestyle, likes and dislikes.
• The 228- page book is edited and compiled by Yashwant Vyas. ‘Boskiyana’ is the name of the house of Gulzar in Mumbai.

पीएम ने जामनगर और जयपुर में भविष्य में तैयार आयुर्वेद संस्थानों का उद्घाटन किया
• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 5 वें आयुर्वेद दिवस पर जयपुर में जामनगर में राष्ट्रीय आयुर्वेद और राष्ट्रीय आयुर्वेद संस्थान (आयुर्वेद) में शिक्षण और अनुसंधान संस्थान का उद्घाटन किया।
• इन संस्थानों से 21 वीं सदी में आयुर्वेद के विकास और विकास में वैश्विक नेतृत्व की भूमिका निभाने की उम्मीद है।
• यह उन्हें आयुर्वेद शिक्षा के मानक को उन्नत करने, उभरती हुई राष्ट्रीय और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मांग के अनुसार विभिन्न पाठ्यक्रमों को फ्रेम करने की स्वायत्तता प्रदान करेगा।
एस जयशंकर 15 वें पूर्वी एशिया शिखर सम्मेलन 2020 में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया
• विदेश मंत्री डॉ एस जयशंकर ने 14 नवंबर 2020 को पीएम मोदी की ओर से 15 वें पूर्वी एशिया शिखर सम्मेलन (ईएएस) में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया।
• शिखर सम्मेलन की अध्यक्षता वियतनाम के प्रधान मंत्री गुयेन जुआन फुक ने की क्योंकि वियतनाम 2020 में आसियान अध्यक्ष है (आसियान मंच में केंद्रीय भूमिका और नेतृत्व करता है)।
• सभी 18 ईएएस देशों ने आभासी शिखर सम्मेलन में भाग लिया।
डॉ हर्षवर्धन ने 8 वीं ब्रिक्स विज्ञान, प्रौद्योगिकी और नवाचार मंत्री ने बैठक में भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल का प्रतिनिधित्व किया
• 8 वें ब्रिक्स विज्ञान, प्रौद्योगिकी और नवाचार मंत्रिस्तरीय बैठक 13 नवंबर 2020 को सदस्य देशों (ब्राजील, रूस, भारत, चीन और दक्षिण अफ्रीका) के बीच विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी सहयोग के लिए एक आभासी मंच के माध्यम से आयोजित की गई थी।
• बैठक रूसी संघ की अध्यक्षता में आयोजित की गई थी। (रूस 12 वें ब्रिक्स शिखर सम्मेलन का अध्यक्ष है)
• केंद्रीय विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्री डॉ हर्षवर्धन ने बैठक में भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल का प्रतिनिधित्व किया
• बैठक ब्रिक्स एसटीआई घोषणा 2020 को अपनाने के साथ संपन्न हुई।

चीन ने लॉन्च किया दुनिया का पहला 6G एक्सपेरिमेंटल सॅटॅलाइट'
• चीन ने दुनिया के पहले 6G एक्सपेरिमेंटल उपग्रह को अंतरिक्ष में भेजा है। यह 6G उपग्रह उन तीन चीनी उपग्रहों में से एक था, जिसे अर्जेंटीना की कंपनी सैटलॉजिक द्वारा विकसित 10 वाणिज्यिक रिमोट सेंसिंग उपग्रह के साथ सफलतापूर्वक लॉन्च किया गया था। यह चीन की लॉन्ग मार्च श्रृंखला का 351 वां रॉकेट था।
• यह तकनीक 5G की तुलना में 100 गुना तेज होने की उम्मीद है। 6G संचार परीक्षण उपग्रह को 12 अन्य उपग्रहों के साथ कक्षा में लॉन्च किया गया था। उपग्रह में प्रौद्योगिकी भी है जो फसल आपदा निगरानी और जंगल की आग की रोकथाम के लिए उपयोग की जा सकेगी।

बांग्लादेश के सादात रहमान साइबर बाल अपराध रोकने पर कार्य करने के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाल शांति पुरस्कार से सम्मानित
• बांग्लादेश के एक किशोर सादात रहमान को साइबर बाल अपराध को रोकने की दिशा में कार्य करने के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाल शांति पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया है। यह पुरस्कार नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार विजेता मलाला यूसुफजई ने शुक्रवार को सादात रहमान को नीदरलैंड में एक समारोह के दौरान प्रदान किया।
• यह पुरस्कार अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाल अधिकार संगठन- किड्स नाइट्स द्वारा ऐसे बच्चे को दिया जाता है जो बाल अधिकारों के लिए संघर्ष करता है।
• सादात रहमान को 42 देशों के 142 आवेदकों में से चुना गया है। सादात ने साइबर अपराध से पीड़ित किशोरों की मदद के लिए साइबर अपराध निरोधी ऐप साइबर टीन्स बनाया है। यह ऐप युवाओं को इंटरनेट सुरक्षा के बारे में जानकारी प्रदान करता है और उन्हें गोपनीय रूप से साइबरबुलिंग के बारे में रिपोर्ट करने के लिए एक मंच भी प्रदान करता है।
विज्ञान और तकनिक
भारत ने ओडिशा कोस्ट से सफलतापूर्वक रिएक्शन टेस्ट फायर क्विक सर्फेस-टू-एयर मिसाइल का परीक्षण किया
• भारत ने 13 नवंबर 2020 को ओडिशा के बालासोर के तट से क्विक रिएक्शन सरफेस टू एयर मिसाइल (QRSAM) सिस्टम का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया।
• सिस्टम ने मध्यम रेंज और मध्यम ऊंचाई पर एक बंशी पायलट रहित लक्ष्य विमान पर सीधे प्रहार करके एक बड़ा मील का पत्थर हासिल किया।
• QRSAM प्रणाली का विकास भारतीय सेना के लिए भारत इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स लिमिटेड और भारत डायनेमिक्स लिमिटेड के सहयोग से रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) द्वारा किया गया है।
