12th World Hindi Day celebrated across the world
The 12th World Hindi Day was celebrated on 10 January 2017 across the world.
● To mark the occasion, special events were organised by non-resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) to spread the greatness of Hindi language.
● World Hindi Day was first observed on 10 January 2006. The day is celebrated alongside the National Hindi Diwas that is being celebrated on 14 September.
● The National Hindi Diwas is celebrated annually to mark the day, 14 September 1949, on which the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi written in Devanagari script as the Official Language of the Union.
● The World Hindi Day seeks to promote Hindi at the global stage, while the National Hindi Diwas is celebrated across the country.
● Hindi is the fourth most spoken language in the world.
● In India, Hindi is spoken as a mother tongue by more than 250 million people.
12वां विश्व हिंदी दिवस 10 जनवरी 2017 को मनाया गया. इस अवसर पर विदेश मंत्रालय ने अपने विभागों में राजभाषा के महत्व को प्रदर्शित करने के लिए विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया.
● इस दिवस का मनाने का उद्देश्य विश्व में हिन्दी के प्रचार-प्रसार के लिये जागरूकता पैदा करना तथा हिन्दी को अन्तराष्ट्रीय भाषा के रूप में पेश करना है.
● भारतीय विदेश मंत्रालय ने विदेश में पहली बार विश्व हिंदी दिवस 10 जनवरी 2006 को मनाया था. यह 14 सितम्बर को मनाये जाने वाले राष्ट्रीय हिंदी दिवस का ही एक हिस्सा हैं. विश्व हिन्दी दिवस प्रति वर्ष 10 जनवरी को मनाया जाता है.
● राष्ट्रीय हिंदी दिवस 14 सितम्बर 1949 को संविधान सभा द्वारा हिंदी को राजभाषा के तौर पर अपनाये जाने के उपलब्धियों में मनाया जाता हैं.
● राष्ट्रीय हिंदी दिवस राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जाते है जबकि विश्व हिंदी दिवस की अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जाते हैं.
● हिंदी विश्व की चौथी सबसे अधिक बोली जाने वाली भाषा हैं.
● भारत में लगभग 258 मिलियन लोगों की यह मातृभाषा हैं.
