UCEED 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Let's go through the UCEED Eligibility Criteria 2023 set by IIT Bombay for the B.Des program at prestigious colleges:

  • Age Limit:

If you are in the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL group, you must have been born on or after October 1, 1997, and if you are in the SC, ST, or PwD category, you must have been born on or after October 1, 1992.

A candidate is allowed to take the UCEED exam a maximum of two times in a row. It's worth noting that the UCEED score is only good for one year and only for admissions in the same academic year.

  • Qualifying Examination: 

To be eligible to take UCEED 2023, the applicant must have passed all subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2021, OR be taking the qualifying examination for the first time in 2023. ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts and Humanities) are eligible.

Those who took their qualifying test (Class XII) for the first time in 2020 or before are not eligible.

UCEED 2023 Registration

Registration for UCEED 2023 has begun on September 9. On the exam's official website, you can complete the UCEED application form.

 Important:

  • Candidates must meet ALL THREE eligibility requirements at the same time- Age Limit, Number of attempts, and qualifying examination.
  • If it is discovered at a later period that the candidate does not meet the requirements, registration will be cancelled.
  • There are no refunds or transfers on the registration fee.

UCEED 2023 Application Form

  • You can apply for UCEED Exam 2023 Online mode ONLY. The application fee for the exam is accepted in online mode only.
  • All THREE qualifying requirements must be met concurrently by candidates as mentioned above.
  • If it is later discovered that the applicant does NOT fulfill any of the three qualifying conditions, the registration will be canceled.
  • It is the candidate's exclusive duty to submit accurate information about the qualifying test and category, as well as to upload VALID documents in the necessary formats in the registration form.
  • The admitting institutes have the authority to cancel a candidate's admission at any point if it is discovered that any information supplied by the applicant is inaccurate or the registration is incomplete, in line with their rules and regulations in effect.
  • The registration fee is NEITHER refundable NOR transferable.

How to Apply Online for UCEED 2023?

  • Complete the registration process for the entrance exam from the official website
  • You need to register by submitting your mobile number, name, email address, and date of birth.
  • After registration, you need to fill in your personal and academic details in the application form along with three exam centers of their choice in order of their preference.

Keep the following documents ready while filling the UCEED Application form:

  • Recent colored passport-sized photograph
  • A scanned copy of the candidate's full signature on the white sheet/paper 
  • Qualifying examination certificate if appeared in 2021 or before 
  • Certificate from school/college principal, if they appear in 2023
  • Date of birth proof, such as passport, SSC certificate, or birth certificate

UCEED 2023 Admit Card

Based on successful registration, you shall receive your UCEED Admit Card from the official website. 

How to download UCEED Admit Card 2023?

  • Visit the online registration portal.
  • Find and click the direct link to download the admit card   
  • Enter the registered login id and password
  • After submitting the details, admit card appears on the screen
  • Verify the details and then download the admit card 

UCEED 2023 Exam Centers

UCEED 2023 examination will be held in 24 cities in India. You have to mention 3 exam cities from the list of UCEED Exam centers in order of preference.

The city allocation depends on the number of candidates applying from each location. The exam conducting authority may add a new city or remove an existing one depending upon the contingencies.

UCEED 2023 Exam Pattern

UCEED will be a Computer Based Test. The duration of the exam is 3 hours, and the question paper will be in English Language. 

UCEED 2023 Exam Pattern consist of two parts: Part A and Part B, both mandatory.

  • Part A will be a computer-based test for 240 marks and a duration of 2 hours 30mins. There will be 3 sections in this part of the exam

UCEED 2023 Syllabus

As per the official notification, UCEED 2023 Syllabus has 2 parts.

UCEED PART A: Part A will have questions from the following topics:

  • Visualization and Spatial Ability- Pictorial and diagrammatic questions to assess knowledge of practical and daily mechanical and scientific ideas, as well as comprehension of transformation and/or manipulation of 2D forms and 3D objects and their spatial connections.
  • Observation and Design Sensitivity - Capacity for detecting hidden qualities in everyday objects, people, situations, and events and critically evaluating them. Paying close attention to specific details, analyzing, reasoning, categorizing, inferring, and anticipating.
  • Environmental and Social Awareness - climate, population, water, vegetation, pollution, weather, natural resources, and other environmental elements, as well as their effects on product design, image, infrastructure, and the environment, are all aspects that need to be considered.
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning -Ability to analyze data, whether qualitative or quantitative, and find patterns within it. Ability to evaluate ideas, arguments, or solutions in light of relevant criteria.
  • Language and Creativity - Ability to comprehend and communicate in Standard English. Reading comprehension and English grammar expertise is required. Ability to think creatively about alternatives, differentiate novel ideas, and think outside of the box.
  • Design Thinking and Problem Solving - Visual analogies, metaphors, signs, and symbols are all examples of this ability. Understanding of complexity, the ability to detect issues, develop alternatives, assess choices, and choose solutions.

UCEED Part B:  will have only one question from the following topic:

  • Drawing: The ability to depict proportionate goods, people, or situations with high line quality, composition, proportion, perspective, and shading.

UCEED 2023 Answer Key

Answer key is the official document released by the exam conducting authority that includes responses to the exam questions. After a week of the exam, the authorities shall release the UCEED Answer Key in online mode. 

Authority will also provide the objection facility after the release of the provisional answer key. You will be able to challenge the answer key within a given period of time. Authority will release the final answer key after the completion of the objection period.

UCEED 2023 Result

UCEED results will release by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay). You need to use your user login and password (created during the registration process) for viewing the results.

 You will be able to download your Score Card from the official UCEED 2023 website. 

  • No hard copy of the result will not be sent to anyone.
  • You need to download it only from the official website. 

UCEED 2023 Scorecard

The scorecard shall be released by the exam conducting authority on the official website. You need to enter your email ID and password to download the scorecard PDF. 

The scorecard will contain your performance details in the entrance examination. It would be best to keep their scorecard safe until the completion of the Admission procedure scorecard can be required at the time of document verification.

UCEED 2023 Cut off

UCEED Cut off marks are the minimum marks to be scored to be eligible for the admission process.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay will release the UCEED 2023 cutoff marks for Part A. It's been declared as a mean and standard deviation.

 All shortlisted candidates are considered as qualified in UCEED 2023.

Based on this, the rank list will be prepared based on the total marks (Part-A and Part-B combined) in UCEED 2023.

  • Only candidates who score the minimum prescribed marks in Part-A and Part-B, each Section of the question paper, and minimum total marks will be included in the rank list.
  • However, the UCEED Committee reserves the right to decrease the minimum % of marks in each section and the minimum total marks such that 10×N ranks can be announced, where N is the total number of available seats.

UCEED 2023 Merit List

The merit list for qualifiers shall be released by the exam conducting authorities on the official webiste. You can view or download the merit list only from the official website.

The merit list will be released based on the cut off marks. The merit list shall include the rank of candidates for the UCEED counselling procedure.

UCEED 2023 B. Des Admission

To be considered for admission to the BDes programs at the participating institutes, namely IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur, a candidate must meet ALL three of the following requirements at the same time.

  1. Age Limit: If you are in the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL group, you must have been born on or after October 1, 1997, and if you are in the SC, ST, or PwD category, you must have been born on or after October 1, 1992.
  2.  UCEED Qualification: The candidate must have qualified in UCEED 2023, i.e. received a rank.
  3. Qualifying Examination: In 2022 or 2023, the candidate must have passed all five subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent). Those who took their qualifying test for the first time in 2020 or before are not eligible.

The merit list for qualifiers shall be released by the exam conducting authorities on the official webiste. You can view or download the merit list only from the official website.

The merit list will be released based on the cut off marks. The merit list shall include the rank of candidates for the UCEED counselling procedure.

UCEED 2023 B. Des Admission

To be considered for admission to the BDes programs at the participating institutes, namely IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur, a candidate must meet ALL three of the following requirements at the same time.

  1. Age Limit: If you are in the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL group, you must have been born on or after October 1, 1997, and if you are in the SC, ST, or PwD category, you must have been born on or after October 1, 1992.
  2.  UCEED Qualification: The candidate must have qualified in UCEED 2023, i.e. received a rank.
  3. Qualifying Examination: In 2022 or 2023, the candidate must have passed all five subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent). Those who took their qualifying test for the first time in 2020 or before are not eligible.

The candidates must carry the UCEED Admit card/Hall Ticket with them along with a Photo Identity Proof documents such as PAN Card, Voter Id, Driving Licence etc with them. The candidates must make sure to carry these or they might be debarred from sitting for the exam.
The question paper will have two parts-Part A and Part B.Part A has three sections but Part B has only one drawing questions.The overall duration of the question paper is 3 hours.
There are two parts in the UCEED Exam Pattern- Part A and Part B. Part A consists of 6 sections and Part B consists of Drawing.

You need to score a minimum of 9% of marks in UCEED 2023 to get admission in B. Des programs.

If a vacancy remains after the third round of allotment, additional rounds of allotment may be held, depending on seat availability and the willingness of the participating institute. This choice is only open to candidates who choose the “FLOAT” option.
