Latest Updates for UCEED 2021

  • May 10: Second round of seat allotment was released. Those who had registered for B.Des Admission for UCEED 2021 from March 13 – 31, 2021 can check their seat allotment results. 
  • April 10: The first round of the seat allotment lists was published on 10th April. UCEED doesn't include any centralized counselling however, there is a joint seat allocation for the B.Design program after clearing the entrance exam. 

What is UCEED?

Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design, in short, known as UCEED, is a national-level entrance exam conducted by IIT Bombay. Through this entrance exam, you can get admission into the Bachelor’s of Design (B.Design) program at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IITDM Jabalpur.

This is an online mode of exam. The registrations for UCEED 2022 shall tentatively begin from the 1st week of September. The UCEED Syllabus 2022 is based on 12th standard topics, and Drawing sections. Scroll down to get complete details on the entrance examination.

UCEED Eligibility Criteria 2022

If you wish to apply for B.Des, then the three basic eligibility criteria set by IIT Bombay are as follows:

  1. Age Limit: You must have born on or before October 1, 1995. If you belong to an open or OBC-NCL category, SC, ST, PWD category then you must be born on or after October 1990.
  2. UCEED Qualification: You should have qualified, i.e., obtained a rank in UCEED 2022. Students who have completed Class XII (or equivalent) in 2020 or are appearing for the board exams in 2022, in any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts & Humanities) are eligible to appear for UCEED 2022.
  3. Qualifying Examination: Applications from foreign nationals including OCI (Overseas Citizen of India)/ PIO (People of Indian Origin) cardholders are considered under the open category and they are outside the ambit of reservation of seats under the OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD categories. 

UCEED Application Form 2022

You can apply for UCEED Exam 2022 online mode only. The application fee for the exam is accepted in online mode only.

UCEED 2022 Application form will be released by IIT Bombay tentatively in the first week of September 2021. 

How to Apply Online for UCEED 2022?

  • Complete the registration process for the entrance exam from the official website:
  • You need to register by submitting your mobile number, name, email address, and date of birth.
  • After registration, you need to fill in your personal and academic details in the application form along with three exam centers of their choice in order of their preference.

Keep the following documents ready while filling the UCEED Application form:

  • Recent coloured passport-sized photograph
  • A scanned copy of the candidate's full signature on the white sheet/paper 
  • Qualifying examination certificate if appeared in 2021 or before 
  • Certificate from school/college principal, if they are appearing in 2022
  • Date of birth proof, such as passport, SSC certificate, or birth certificate

UCEED Application Fee 

The application fee for female candidates from India despite category is INR 1500. It varies for male and transgender candidates on the basis of their category from INR 1500 to INR 3000.

UCEED Admit Card 2022

Based on successful registration, you shall receive your UCEED Admit Card from the official website. 

How to download UCEED Admit Card 2022?

  • Visit the online registration portal
  • Find and click the direct link to download the admit card       
  • Enter the registered login id and password
  • After submitting the details, admit card appears on the screen
  • Verify the details and then download the admit card 

UCEED 2022 Exam Centers

UCEED 2022 examination will be held in 24 cities in India. You have to mention 3 exam cities from the list of UCEED Exam centers in order of preference.

The city allocation depends on the number of candidates applying from each location. The exam conducting authority may add a new city or remove an existing one depending upon the contingencies.

UCEED Exam Pattern 2022

UCEED 2022 will be a Computer Based Test. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and the question paper will be in English. The question paper will consist of two parts: Part A and Part B which are both mandatory.

UCEED Part A Exam Pattern

Part A will be a computer-based test for 240 marks and a duration of 2 hours 30mins. There will be 3 sections in this part of the exam.

UCEED 2022 Exam Syllabus

UCEED 2022 exam will have 2 parts. Part A will have questions from these topics:

  • Visualization and Spatial Ability
  • Observation and Design Sensitivity
  • Environmental and Social Awareness
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning
  • Language and Creativity
  • Design Thinking and Problem Solving

Part B will have only one question from only one topic- Drawing.

UCEED Answer Key 2022

Answer key is the official document released by the exam conducting authority that includes responses for the questions asked in the exam. After a week of exam, the authorities shall release the UCEED Answer Key in online mode. 

Authority will also provide the objection facility after the release of the provisional answer key. You will be able to challenge the answer key within a given period of time. Authority will release the final answer key after the completion of the objection period.

UCEED Result 2022

UCEED Result will be available on the website tentatively after 2 weeks of the exam. You need to use your user login and password (created during the registration process) for viewing the results.

  • You shall be able to download the result PDF from the 2nd week of March 2022. 
  • No hard copy of the result will not be sent to anyone. You need to download it only from the official website. 

UCEED 2022 Scorecard

The scorecard shall be released by the exam conducting authority along with the UCEED result. You need to enter your email ID and password to download the scorecard PDF. 

The scorecard will contain your performance details in the entrance examination. You should keep their score card safe till the completion of the Admission procedure scorecard can be required at the time of document verification.

UCEED Cut off

The cut off marks are the minimum marks to be scored in order to be eligible for the admission process. The cut-off marks shall be released by the exam conducting authorities considering various factors like No. of candidates who appeared in the examination, the total no. of qualified candidates, average marks scored by the candidates, etc.

Rank list will be prepared based on the total marks (Part-A and Part-B combined) in UCEED 2022.

  • Only candidates who score the minimum prescribed marks in both Part-A and Part-B, each Section of the question paper, and minimum total marks will be included in the rank list.
  • However, the UCEED Committee reserves the right to decrease the minimum % of marks in each section as well as the minimum total marks such that 10×N ranks can be announced, where N is the total number of available seats.

UCEED Merit List 2022

The merit list for qualifiers shall be released by the exam conducting authorities. You can view or download the merit list only from the official website. The merit list will be released based on the cut off marks. 

The merit list shall include the rank of candidates for the UCEED counseling procedure.

UCEED 2022 Admission

IIT Bombay shall conduct the Joint Seat Allocation Process for admission into B.Design program at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur.

You need to fill the application form by paying the prescribed amount for participating in the admission/Counselling procedure. The Application form for Joint Seat Allocation Process will be started from the 2nd week of March 2022.

  • The application processing fee for UCEED counseling and seat allotment 2020 is Rs 2,000. 
  • You have to enter the personal, educational, and contact details in the registration form and also fill the institutes according to their choice
  • At least three rounds of UCEED seat allotment will be held by the Indian Institute of Technology.
  • Candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of UCEED scores and choice of institutes as entered by them. Provisional letters will be sent to selected students on their registered email IDs.
  • Thereafter they must pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 60,000 (Rupees Sixty Thousand Only) for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL and Rs. 15,000 (Rupees Fifteen Thousand Only) for SC/ST/PwD through an online payment system.


What are the new changes for UCEED Exam Pattern?

The question paper will have two parts-Part A and Part B.Part A has three sections but Part B has only one drawing questions.The overall duration of the question paper is 3 hours.

How many parts are there in the UCEED Question Paper?

There are two parts in the UCEED Exam Pattern- Part A and Part B. Part A consists of 6 sections and Part B consists of Drawing.
