SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the post, it is important for candidates to go through the SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria thoroughly. Here is the glimpse of eligibility criteria required to apply for SSC JHT Exam.

Nationality

A candidate must be either:

  • a citizen of India, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a subject of Bhutan, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit

Candidates applying for JHT must not exceed 30 years. Age Relaxation is applicable according to the notification released by the examination authority.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates need to have a Bachelor degree or Masters Degree from a recognized University or equivalent in Hindi or English.

Candidates must also have a two years experience of teaching Hindi at Senior Secondary level under Central or State Governments or recognized educational Institution.

SSC JHT Application Form

Candidates need to follow these simple steps in order to fill their SSC JHT Application Form correctly. Make sure to submit the applications on or before the last date.

  • Visit the Official Website of ssc.nic.in
  • Click on Register Now for One Time Registration.
  • Enter personal, academic and experience details with valid mobile number and email ID.
  • Upload Photograph and Signature and Left-hand Thumb impression.
  • Check your details and click the Submit button to register.
  • You will be receiving an OTP on the registered mobile number and mail id.
  • Confirm the OTP to complete your registration.
  • Next, you have to login again to fill up the application form.
  • On logging in again, you will find all your details entered before during the time of registration.
  • Choose your exam center, select your category
  • Recheck your photo and signature images
  • Click on 'I agree' to confirm your application.
  • Submit the application fee through online or offline mode.

SSC JHT Selection Process 2019

SSC Junior Hindi Translator comprises of the following selection process:

  1. Paper I - Objective-based paper
  2. Paper-II - Descriptive Paper

The Paper I is M.C.Q based exam with 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer. If the Paper I exam is conducted in several shifts, then the marks scored shall be normalized and used to determine the final merit list.

A. If the candidates do not receive the SSC JHT Admit Card in time, they have the option to ascertain their Roll Numbers and download the duplicate admission certificate from the official website, for which a link is provided usually 10-15 days before the date of the examination. In some exceptional cases, duplicate admit card are delivered to the candidates by hand from the office of SSC(ER) on some specified dates before the examination, for which ‘Notice’ will be posted on the SSC website.
