SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria 2019

As per the announcement, the Staff Selection Commission will be releasing the SSC JHT Notification in the month of September 2019. Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria thoroughly so that this does not lead to cancellation of candidature.

  • Only if the eligibility criteria are met properly, candidates will be able to complete their application process and receive the SSC JHT Admit Card for the examination.

Nationality – SSC JHT Eligibility 2019

A candidate who is willing to apply for SSC JHT Recruitment must belong to one among the below nationalities. The candidate must be

  • an Indian citizen or
  • a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or
  • a refugee from who came to India before 01-01-1962  but, with the intent of settling in India permanently or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from, Kenya, Zaire, Malawi, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intent of settling in India permanently.

For those candidates other than Indian Citizens, the certificate of eligibility will be issued by the government of India. These candidates should produce certificates as and when required.

Age Limit – SSC JHT Eligibility 2019

The maximum age limit of a candidate willing to apply is 30 years. Applicants born not before the date of 2nd January 1991 and not later than 1st January 2000 will be eligible.

Relaxation in Upper Age Limit

The relaxation in age will be as per the government rules and regulation

Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof. 3 years
Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof (SC/ ST) 8 years

AND

Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or three years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.

Junior Translator/Junior Hindi Translator in subordinate offices who have not yet adopted Model RRs of DoP&T for JT/JHT

Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level,

Or

Bachelor’s degree with Hindi and English as main subjects (which includes the term compulsory and elective)

Bachelor’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subject at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Master’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute.
