Overview: The JIPMAT 2026 cutoffs are out. IIM Jammu has already published its official category-wise sectional percentile cutoffs and updated selection criteria for the IPM 2026-31 batch in its latest admission policy.
The JIPMAT 2026 examination was successfully conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on 7 June 2026 for admission to the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) offered by IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya.
The biggest update for the 2026 admission cycle is that IIM Jammu has officially released its IPM Admission Policy for the 2026–31 batch. The institute has retained the minimum sectional qualifying marks while introducing a revised merit calculation process that gives greater importance to academic consistency.
At the same time, IIM Bodh Gaya has also published its admission policy, and candidates can now estimate their admission chances by comparing their scores with previous admission trends and the latest eligibility criteria.

Unlike many national entrance exams, IIM Jammu does not publish an overall score-based cutoff. Instead, candidates must secure the minimum sectional qualifying marks in each section of the JIPMAT exam to become eligible for merit list preparation.
Meeting these qualifying marks does not guarantee admission. Final selection depends on the institute's composite merit score.

One of the most significant changes introduced by IIM Jammu this year is the revised weightage for preparing the final merit list.
Earlier, admission included weightage for gender diversity. From the 2026 admission cycle onwards, the institute has shifted its focus toward rewarding consistent academic performance.

Understanding previous year cutoffs is one of the best ways to estimate your admission chances for JIPMAT 2026.
Although the minimum qualifying marks remain fairly stable, the final admission scores and merit lists vary every year depending on competition, seat availability, candidate preferences, and institute-specific admission policies.
For the 2026 cycle, candidates should also keep in mind that IIM Jammu has revised its selection criteria by introducing academic weightage, making historical cutoffs only one part of the admission picture.

Overall Reduction in Cutoffs (2023): Compared to 2022, there appears to be a general downward trend in JIPMAT cutoffs across most categories. Given that the number of applicants hasn't decreased, this suggests a potential increase in the difficulty level of the JIPMAT exam pattern.
Significant Drop in JIPMAT General Cutoff (2023): Notably, the general category cutoff has decreased from 354 to 342, which is unusual given that rising cutoffs are the trend for every competitive exam. This proves the claim that there might be increasing difficulty in exam papers.
Multiple Cut-off List: Although the JIPMAT cutoff starts out pretty high, they always release more than five cutoff lists, which means that people who score really high aren’t taking admission. This means you don’t need to worry if you don’t secure admission in the first list.
Competitive Score: Even though there are so many cutoff lists, the last cutoff score drops by only 20 marks or so, indicating that many people are scoring in that high range.
