The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) conducts the NIFT entrance exam for admission into UG and PG programs. The NIFT exam has two stages:

  • Written Exam: This includes the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and the General Ability Test (GAT).
  • Situation Test: A practical assessment conducted after clearing the written exam.

Candidates who clear both stages will be eligible for admission to various NIFT campuses across India.

NIFT Situation Test 2025

The NIFT Exam includes a situation test to assess a candidate's conceptualisation and creative skills before admitting them to the design programs. 

As part of the NIFT Situation Test, aspirants are given some materials, and they have to create a model and accompany it with a caption and a short write-up explaining the 3D model made by the student.

NIFT Situation Test Important Points to Remember

  • Candidates for the NIFT Situation Test must appear at the NIFT exam centre to which they have been assigned.
  • To answer the questions, aspirants must provide a written explanation of the model's construction and their completed model.
  • During the NIFT 2025 situation test, a candidate's material handling and creative abilities are assessed using a given set of materials in an assigned circumstance.
  • Candidates must download the call letter for the NIFT scenario test after booking a time slot and providing the credentials to select a test centre location.
  • No additional or outside materials will be allowed throughout the model-making process.
  • Students must only use English when describing the model, and candidates may not use any other language to express the subject.
  • Candidates will be disqualified if they explain the model in a language other than English.
  • The jurors will make their own decisions about the candidates.
