NIFT Application Form Eligibility Criteria

Before filling out the NIFT application form, checking whether you meet the NIFT Eligibility Criteria is vital. The NIFT entrance exam requirements for both UG and PG level programs are given below: 

Undergraduate Programs

Age Limit

• The maximum age should be less than 24 years as of 1 August 2026.
• The upper age limit may be relaxed by 5 (five) years for candidates of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Person with Disability (PWD) categories. 

Academic Qualification

• Passed the Plus 2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi / Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
• A passing grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects, including Physics and Mathematics.
• Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to a 10+2 system with Physics and Mathematics.
• General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics and Mathematics / International Baccalaureate (IB).

Master's Programs (M.Des, M.F.M and M.FTech)

Candidates fulfilling the prescribed educational qualification criteria for the Master’s program can apply for the NIFT Entrance Exam by filling the NIFT application form.

Qualifying Age

• There is no age limit for applying for a Master's degree in NIFT.

Academic Qualification

• Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognized by law in India OR Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.
• You must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized institute or university for the MFM Program.
• For M. F. Tech Program: B. F. Tech. From NIFT, OR, B. E/B. Tech. from a recognized Institute/University.

How to Fill Out the NIFT Application Form 2026?

You can complete the NIFT Registration Form 2026 online from the official website. You must make sure to fill out the online form on or before the last date.

Step 1: Enter the AADHAR Number and create a login ID 

Click on the application tab. A registration form would open asking you to enter the AADHAR Number. 

After successful verification of your AADHAR number, fill in the following details: 

• Parent's name 
• Email ID 
• Mobile Number 

Once the details are submitted, an acknowledgement is sent to the registered email address. Note that the details provided when creating the login ID cannot be modified later. 

Note: The email ID and mobile number shared by the candidate at the time of registration can be used for future correspondence related to the online application, admit card, etc (till the admission process is over).  

Step 2: Fill in the NIFT Application Form 

Next, the candidate had to log in to the newly created account and fill in the following details: 

• Test centre - Select a test centre (city) from the drop-down menu. 
• Personal information - including the name of one's parents, gender, nationality, domicile, etc. 
• Address for correspondence. 
• Academic Qualification 

Step 3: Upload documents

The candidate must upload their signature and photograph in the prescribed format. 

Step 4: Pay the application fee 

This is the final step in the application process.  

The application fee has to be paid online using Credit Card/ Debit Card/Net Banking.

You can pay your application fee for the NIFT entrance exam online (using a Credit Card/Debit Card/Netbanking) or by Demand Draft (DD).

Documents Required to Fill NIFT Application Form 2026

You need to have the below-mentioned documents in hand before proceeding with the Application Form for the NIFT Exam 2026. The list of the documents required for the NIFT application form is as follows:

• Valid E-mail ID (the e-mail should be valid for at least one year)
• Scanned image of photo
• Scanned image of the signature
• Demand Draft of the requisite amount as per category
• Caste / Tribe/ Class certificate (for SC / ST/ OBC candidate) as applicable
• Personal details
• Educational qualification details
• Disability certificate (if applicable)

Image Specifications for NIFT Application Form 2026

	File size - File size should be no more than 100KB

	The facial features of the photo should occupy 80% of the photo
	The main parts of the photo should not be covered with hair, cloth, or shadow
	You should not have spectacles or glare-on glasses in your photo
	The forehead, chin, both eyes, lips, cheeks, and nose should be visible
Signature	The scanned signature should be in Blue/Black ink on a white background
	File size - File size should be no more than 100KB.
	Format - jpeg only
	The mobile phone photographs of signatures are not acceptable

NIFT Application Form Correction 2026

If you made mistakes while filling out the NIFT 2026 registration form, you can edit/update the application form for NIFT 2026 within the window in January 2026.

• No changes or modifications in the NIFT entrance exam registration form will be accepted once you have paid your NIFT application fee.
• Test cities, once entered, cannot be changed even in the application correction window.
• If any online NIFT application form is found incomplete or incorrect after the correction window ends, then the NIFT application fee paid by such candidates will not be refunded.
