NATA Eligibility 2021: Know Educational Qualification, Age Limit and Validity of Score

The Council of Architecture (CoA) conducts the NATA examination every year for admission into 5 years B. Arch. or 4 years B. Plan. programs in various architecture colleges. If you are an aspirant of an architecture course, then you need to qualify for the entrance exam for which you need to satisfy the NATA Eligibility Criteria.

This post shall take you through the detailed eligibility criteria required to apply for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture.

As per the NATA Exam Date, the first session was conducted on 10th April while the second session is scheduled for 12th June.

What's New in NATA Eligibility?

  • Due to the ongoing crisis across the globe, the admission eligibility for B.Arch Degree has been relaxed for academic sessions 2021-2022.
  • 50% in PCM is the minimum requirement and an aggregate of 10+2 is relaxed to only pass in 12th class with PCM subjects or 10+3 Diploma with mathematics.

NATA Age Limit 2021

  • There is no lower age limit for appearing in the exam according to the NATA exam eligibility age limit.
  • However, you need to comply with any particular age constraint that may be specified by the respective counseling/ Admission authority. You may have to register any age limit set by the admission authority.
  • Before filling the NATA Application Form 2021, you need to check the required eligibility criteria. 

NATA Educational Qualification 2021

  • You should have passed 10+2 level or equivalent from a recognized board or 
  • You must have passed the 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject
  • Filling Total Marks and Obtained marks for class 10th is no more mandatory. This particular information is optional in order to apply for NATA 2021.
  • As marks in 10th std Grade cards is not easily obtainable, Form fields 'Total Marks' and 'Obtained Marks' are made optional.
  • As per the Candidates who have passed (Senior secondary Examination) 10+2, Diploma (10+3) or equivalent exam with 50% marks in aggregate in any stream from Central/ State Government with Mathematics being the compulsory subject are eligible to apply for NATA.

Qualifying Marks

  • The minimum marks criteria for BArch admissions 2021 is relaxed as announced by Union Education Minister and also by CoA.
  • In the previous years, the minimum marks required is tabulated below:

NATA Eligibility 2021 for Students of International/ NRI Status

For the students having International/ NRI status, NATA Eligibility remains the same as it is for Indian Nationals. There are no different Eligibility parameters set for International/ NRI candidates who want to appear for NATA 2021

Other Important Eligibility criteria

  • Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-NCL Category, or PWD(Person with Disability) shall be provided with 5% in total Aggregate in 10+2 Level/10+3 Diploma as well as PCM.
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing, after 10 years of schooling with 50% marks in aggregate and Mathematics as a compulsory subject of the examination are also eligible for NATA.
  • For candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC or any other special category, there will be no change in NATA entrance exam eligibility.
  • Applicants can ask for reservation schemes while applying for admissions under various admission authorities.

What is the validity of the NATA Score?

NATA Score is valid for a period of 24 months (2 years) from the date a candidate appears for the NATA exam. If 24 months period is over, aspirants have to register for the next NATA examination and will have to secure a valid NATA Score/ Rank.

The compulsory subject required by the NATA Candidates as eligibility criteria is Mathematics.
As per the NATA 2020 Eligibility Criteria,both the 10+2 and 10+3 appearing/passed students can sit for the NATA Exam.
The candidates who have cleared or appearing in 10+2/10+3 Diploma can sit for NATA Exam.
There is no age criteria specified for NATA candidates.
Aggregate/percentage in 10+2 that is required by the candidates to sit for NATA Exam is 50%.
