M.Des, M.F.M and M.F.Tech are two-year programmes, so you pay fees for only two academic years (2027-28 and 2028-29) across four semesters. The one-time alumni association membership fee (₹6,200) is charged in Semester 3, and the refundable security deposit (₹12,600) and registration fee (₹9,300) are paid once, in Semester 1.

NIFT Fee Structure for SC, ST, OBC & EWS Candidates

A common misconception is that reserved-category students pay a lower course fee at NIFT. They don't. NIFT course fees are the same for every category - SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwD and General candidates all pay the same tuition, library, mediclaim, exam and one-time charges.

The only place category matters at the fee stage is the application fee - ₹500 for SC/ST/PwD versus ₹2,000 for General/OBC-NCL/EWS.

NIFT reserves seats for candidates from artisan families under its Artisan and Ward-of-Artisan categories, opening up a NIFT education to students with hands-on craft backgrounds.
