Note: The Aptitude Test Score (ATS) is calculated only for the 818 candidates listed above who meet the sectional cut-off marks in the various categories.
Number of Applicants: A higher number of applicants tends to lead to higher cutoffs and greater competition.
Number of Seats: Fewer available seats can also raise cutoffs because there are fewer places for a larger group of applicants.
Difficulty Level of the Exam: A tougher IPMAT exam can lead to lower average scores and possibly lower cutoffs, while an easier exam can produce higher average scores and higher cutoffs.
Performance of Candidates: The overall performance of all candidates in a given year plays a major role in determining the cutoff. If the average scores are high, the cutoff tends to be high, and vice versa.
Reservation Criteria: Reservation rules for various categories (e.g., SC, ST, OBC) can determine cutoffs. Reserved categories can have lower cutoffs compared to the general category.
Previous Year's Cutoffs: Comparing previous years' cutoffs can provide insight into what to reasonably expect and help candidates gauge the level of competition.
Marking Scheme: The marking scheme (positive and negative marking) can also determine the scores and, in turn, the cutoffs.
Exam Pattern and Changes: Any changes in the IPMAT exam pattern, including the question paper length or question types, also affect the cutoff.
The authorities will announce the provisional results for IIM Inodre Integrated Program in Management (IPM).
As part of this process, a consideration pool has been created, comprising candidates placed on a waiting list due to vacancies arising from selected candidates declining their offers.
Categories within the Consideration Pool:
Reasons for Vacancies:
Subsequent merit lists, specifically the second and third, will be released to address these vacancies.
Additionally, candidates not included in any consideration pool will receive a regret message, indicating that they have no further opportunities for selection in this cycle.
During the counselling process for IPM admission at IIM Indore, candidates need to provide the following documents:
Check: IPMAT Cut off
The IPMAT 2026 Scorecard will be published together with the results.
It provides information about your scores and percentile in each section of the exam and your overall scores and percentile.
These are the details in the IIM Indore IPMAT scorecard:
For candidates not selected for admission into IIM Indore's IPM program, it is crucial to take a structured approach to understand your current standing and plan for the future.
Here are some essential strategies to help you navigate your next steps effectively:
Begin with a close evaluation of your performance.
Look through your scorecard and dissect it section by section.
Pinpoint the areas you did well and those where you struggled.
Think about why you struggled - whether it was a conceptual knowledge gap, issues of time management, or stress during the exams.
This process will enable you to identify trends in your strengths and weaknesses that you can use to make your academic and professional decisions.
While the loss of a single program is disappointing, consider that there are many elite schools and courses to choose from.
Look at management programs, business administration courses, or related disciplines that support your career goals.
Some schools provide rolling admissions or other entrance tests that you may still take.
Look into the curriculum, teachers, placement history, and student life to find a school that aligns with your goals.
If your aim is still the same, you can take a year's break to study again. Still, this has to be a well-conceptualised decision.
A drop year will help if you make proper use of it. It allows you to streamline your IPMAT study plan, address your weak points, and approach the exam with confidence.
However, commitment and a proper study plan are also needed to make progress.
Seeking guidance from experienced mentors, teachers, or professionals can give insightful feedback on your test strategy and overall profile.
They may help you identify where you went wrong and offer recommendations for improvement.
Participate in student forums, listen to webinars, and attend career guidance sessions to gain diverse perspectives.
Try to network with students who have cleared the exam and learn from their experiences.
Rather than merely re-prepping, utilise the time to make a well-rounded profile.
Spending time on skills and knowledge-based activities can make you stand out among other candidates.
Aside from bolstering your resume, a well-rounded profile also works in your favour when applying for college and as a job seeker.
Most students lose out on opportunities because they are not aware of them.
Keep yourself posted on exam announcements, IPMAT application forms, and eligibility for different programs by visiting official websites occasionally.
Participate in student forums and discussion groups where exam trends, strategies, and key updates are discussed.
Keeping yourself well-informed will prevent you from missing out on important opportunities.
Working through setbacks is difficult, but resilience is the key to long-term achievement.
Don't look at this as a failure but as an opportunity to learn.
Keep yourself motivated by setting short-term goals and rewarding small successes.
Be around positive influences—friends, family, mentors—who support and encourage you.
Remember that some of the most successful individuals experienced setbacks before achieving their goals.
The most important thing is your perseverance and flexibility.
Occasionally, the most favourable prospects emerge when you venture off beaten tracks. In case your initial plan does not materialise, think about secondary pathways to your dream profession:
Similar Fields: Management, economics, finance, entrepreneurship, and business analytics are related fields that could also fit your goal.
Various Institutions: A few colleges have outstanding programs with varying admission requirements. Investigate research institutes that might suit you.
International Opportunities: There are opportunities to attend universities overseas that offer a good education with easy entry.
Skill-Based Careers: In the modern era, skills are more valuable than degrees. Consider acquiring expertise in high-demand fields like data science, digital marketing, or entrepreneurship.
By following these guidelines, candidates can better understand their options and strategically plan their next steps towards achieving their educational and career goals.
IIM Indore adheres to the reservation policy outlined by the Government of India for admission to the IPM course.
The following categories are eligible for reservation:
| Category | Reservation Percentage |
| SC | 15% |
| ST | 7.5% |
| OBC-NCL | 27% |
