NIFT Result for the written test will be declared on the official website in the first week of March 2020, after which the situation test for the candidate will be conducted in the month of April/May 2020.

  • Candidates can check their respective results by entering roll number and date of birth.
  • Candidates who will qualify the exam will be called for the situation test/group discussion and personal interview, which will be held in April/May 2020.
  • Registration for NIFT 2020 situation test will start from the fourth week of March to the first week of April 2020.

How to Check NIFT Result 2020?

The result can be downloaded from the official website by following the steps given below:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of NIFT, i.e. www.nift.ac.in.
  • Step 2: Click on the tab ‘Result 2020’
  • Step 3: Enter details as demanded on-screen.
  • Step 4: the result will be displayed on the screen.
  • Step 5: Download the result and obtain a printout.


  • NIFT result mentions subject-wise scores obtained by candidates in CAT and GAT. Candidates qualifying GAT and CAT for B Des. program will be called for Situation Test and GD/PI. 
  • Final Result and Merit List will be prepared after taking all the scores into consideration. The final result of NIFT 2020 will be published online in the month of June 2020.

Details Present on NIFT 2020 Scorecard

One of the most important documents for NIFT aspirants is the NIFT 2020 Scorecard. They will be asked at the time of counseling to produce NIFT Admit Card 2020 and NIFT Scorecard. The following information will be provided by the NIFT Scorecard:

  • Name of the candidate
  • Roll Number
  • Application Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Photograph of the candidate
  • Subject-wise scores obtained in CAT and GAT
  • The score obtained in Situation Test

NIFT 2020 Selection Process and Weightage

All eligible candidates would have to go through an examination process. The process for each program along with the weightage assigned to each test in the final merit list of the entrance examination is tabulated below:

Reservation Policy For NIFT 2020 Admission

The reservation applicable during the final admission is mentioned below, for all the categories.

  • 15% for SC category.
  • 7.5% for ST category.
  • 27% for OBC category.
  • 5% for PwD candidates.
  • 20% Supernumerary for State Domicile.
  • 15% Supernumerary for Foreign Nationals/ SAARC/NRI.

NIFT Cut-off

NIFT 2020 Cut-off is the closing rank set by NIFT Participating Institutes and the same will vary across NIFT campuses. The cutoff list will be released after the results are announced. There are 16 NIFT campuses in India all of them will release an opening and closing rank for various courses.

NIFT 2020 Counselling 

NIFT Counselling 2020 is expected to commence from June 2020. Candidates are required to register through the official website in order to participate in the counselling process, Only those candidates will be eligible for counselling rounds who will have a common merit rank. The candidates need to enter their choice of campus for the counselling session.

  •  For the GD and PI Interview rounds, candidates have to download call letter online by entering their application number, date of birth and roll number.
  • At the time of counselling, document verification of the candidates will be also done.
  • Though the institute does not charge any fee for the primary round of counseling, however each subsequent round of counseling would be charged at the rate of INR 5000. Further details of counseling like the mode, dates, and procedure will be available on the official website in due course.

Documents required in originals along with photocopies for NIFT 2020 Counselling process

  • All-Academic Certificates up to qualifying examination. In case of final exam appearing candidate whose result is due, all original mark sheet of the previous semester/years needs to be presented along with the date sheet/admit card for examination.
  • Demand Draft of requisite fee in favor of ‘NIFT HO’. Payable at New Delhi has to be submitted. The candidate’s name, counseling date, contact number, program name, NIFT Rank and Roll Number should be clearly mentioned at the back of DD.
  • Proof of DOB
  • Documents in the prescribed format, in support of the claim of reservation.
  • Parents Income Certificate as the basis for Tuition Fee funding.
  • Medical certificate in the prescribed format issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
  • Affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/- for seeking only provisional admission in case the qualifying examination result is due.
  • Anti-Ragging Declaration and Declaration regarding Fee Refund.
