The IBPS SO law officer syllabus 2026 remains same for prelims and mains. There are only a few updates according to which the mains exam now has five sections that include: English Language, Reasoning, GA, Professional Knowledge, and a descriptive English Language test.  

Other sections are only qualifying in the mains. Only the marks from Professional Knowledge Test will contribute to merit list preparation.

Preparing notes for the IBPS SO law officer exam 2026 should be a structured and careful next step you take. IBPS decided to update the exam pattern this year hence your preparation approach needs an update as well.  

Before you open a notebook or a Notion doc, get the exam structure straight, because it should directly decide how much space each subject gets in your notes.  

Step 1: Map Your Notes to the Prelims Structure  

Here's what the IBPS SO law officer exam pattern for prelims looks like:

• A common mistake is making all four sections equally detailed, which just means you spend equal time revising a 25-mark section and a 50-mark one.
