In this blog, we share detailed and revision ready IBPS SO law officer notes and other important details. Let's begin!
First things first,
The IBPS SO law officer syllabus 2026 remains same for prelims and mains. There are only a few updates according to which the mains exam now has five sections that include: English Language, Reasoning, GA, Professional Knowledge, and a descriptive English Language test.
Other sections are only qualifying in the mains. Only the marks from Professional Knowledge Test will contribute to merit list preparation.
Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Para Jumbles, Grammar, Vocabulary, error spotting, and sentence improvement.
Data Sufficiency, Puzzles, Logical Reasoning, Coding-Decoding, and Seating Arrangement.
Current affairs, banking awareness, and static GK, with special emphasis on the banking sector rather than generic news. See our dedicated General Awareness guide for the full syllabus split and study plan.
25 marks in Mains come from a descriptive English paper (essay/letter/précis format), completed in 30 minutes.
This isn't a section you can wing on exam day.
Build a small rotation of practice essays and formal letters into your final month and time yourself. 30 minutes goes faster than it sounds once you're writing.
