What is the Educational Qualification Required for CLAT PG Eligibility 2027?  

The CLAT PG eligibility criteria mainly focus on the applicant's law degree, the recognition status of the institution, and the minimum academic qualifications required for admission to LL.M. program.  

LL.B Degree Requirement  

To be eligible for CLAT PG 2027, candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree in law (LL.B.) from a recognized university or institution.  

The degree serves as the mandatory qualifying qualification for admission to the postgraduate law program offered through CLAT PG.  

Both 3-year and 5-year law degree holders are eligible to apply for CLAT PG, provided they fulfil the prescribed academic requirements.  

Candidates appearing in the final year or final semester of their LL.B. program can also apply provisionally. However, they must produce proof of completing the qualifying degree at the time of admission and counseling.  

The following law degrees are generally accepted for CLAT PG admission:

Indian Nationals can apply for CLAT PG 2027 if they hold a recognized LL.B. degree (or are in the final year of the program) and meet the minimum qualifying marks requirement prescribed for their category.   

CLAT PG Eligibility Criteria For NRI Students

NRI aspirants seeking admission under the NRI quota must meet the CLAT PG eligibility criteria and complete the necessary admission formalities.

  • Admissions for NRI/NRI-sponsored category aspirants are carried out based on their merit score, and the concerned university allocates the CLAT PG Seat Allotment under the NRI Quota. 
  • Please contact the concerned university directly for admission formalities, minimum eligibility for the CLAT PG Exam, required documents, and other related queries about seeking admission under the NRI Quota. 
  • In case of the non-availability of foreign national seats, seats will be converted into NRI/NRI-sponsored seats. 
  • The admission will be based on the CLAT PG ranking in the above case. 
  • CLAT Office shall be responsible for issuing the list of candidates eligible for CLAT PG Admission under this category.

Documents Required for NRI Sponsored Candidates for CLAT PG Exam Admission 2027

  • Sponsor's copy of valid Indian passport. 
  • Visas obtained in the last 12 months by the sponsor 
  • Certificate from the local embassy stating that the sponsor is an NRI/ OCI or PIO card

Is There Any Upper Age Limit for CLAT PG?   

No. According to the latest CLAT PG eligibility criteria, the Consortium of NLUs has not prescribed any upper age restriction for candidates.  

This means that:  

  • Working professionals can apply for CLAT PG. 
  • Candidates with gap years in their academic or professional journey remain eligible. 
  • There is no limit on the number of years between completing an LL.B. degree and applying for CLAT PG.
