SSC JE Selection Process 2020

The Selection process for SSC JE involves a total of five stages. Candidates qualifying all the stages successfully will be eligible for receiving the appointment for their applied post. Check the complete article for the complete insight on the Selection Process of SSC JE 2020.

• The exam doesn't consist of any Interview stage
• SSC JE Paper 1 is an objective type of computer-based test while Paper 2 is a descriptive test
• Candidates who will qualify paper 1 (Prelims) above the SSC JE Cut Off will be eligible to appear for paper 2 (Mains).
• The cut off marks are decided by the authorities to shortlist candidates for the further stages of the SSC JE 2020 Selection process.

SSC JE Selection process 2020

The selection process for SSC JE 2020 consists of five stages. In simple words, below is the mentioned roadmap for SSC JE Selection Process.

• After Eligible candidates fill the application forms, they will have to appear for the Paper 1 exam which is an online mode of exam.  
• The candidates need to clear the SSC JE Prelims in order to sit for Paper 2 which is SSC JE Mains Exam.
• After these two stages, the Documentation Process takes place which is followed by the last phase - Medical Examination.
• After that the allotment to various SSC JE Vacancies under Participating organizations i.e. Central Water Commission, CPWD, Department of Post and MES, etc. will be held.
• It is a mandatory for the eligible candidates to clear all these stages in order to qualify the SSC JE (Junior Engineer) 2020.

Stage 1-Filling the SSC JE Application Form

All the eligible candidates should fill up the SSC JE Application Form as soon as possible first. First Register on the official website with Email Id and Phone Number. Then enter your personal details, educational qualification and all other details asked for along with the photograph and signature in the prescribed format and pay the application fee. The candidates must keep 2,3 print outs of the duly filled SSC JE Application Form 2020 for further reference.

Stage 2-SSC JE Prelims Exam paper 1

As we have already mentioned, the selection procedure includes attempting the SSC JE Paper 1. We have mentioned the pattern of Paper 1 below which states it is held online and consists of three sections General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical). Stage 3-SSC JE Mains Exam Paper 2

Candidates who are successfully qualifying paper 1 of SSC JE 2020 will be appearing for Paper 2. The dates for Paper 2 have not been announced. As per the SSC JE exam pattern, the paper will be conducted offline and will consist of conventional paper. Part-A General Engineering (Civil & Structural) Or Part- B General Engineering (Electrical) Or Part-C General Engineering (Mechanical) comes under paper 2. The maximum marks allotted to SSC JE Paper 2 is 300 marks.

SSC JE Paper 2 Exam Pattern

Stage 4 – SSC JE Document Verification

Document verification will be based on candidates' marks in Paper 1 and 2 exams.

• The admission is provisional is subjected to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.
• At the time of verification if any candidates do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, His\Her candidature will be canceled by the commission.

Stage 5- SSC JE Medical Examination

To make sure that the applying candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties properly, the candidates will have to pass the requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the concerned department.

Stage 6- Final Selection and Allotment to Various Posts

After the above stages are completed successfully, they will appear for the final stage of the SSC JE selection procedure i.e. final allotment. As per the marks, ranks will be allotted to candidates. Allotment to the various posts will be done amongst the candidates on the merit list. The posts to be offered by SSC under Participating organizations i.e. Central Water Commission, CPWD, Department of Post and MES are:

SSC JE Eligibility 2020
