About SSC JE

Staff Selection Commission conducts SSC JE exam every year to recruit suitable candidates as Junior Engineer in civil, mechanical and electrical engineering departments. The exam details for 2018 is yet to be announced.

SSC JE Notification

The official notification for this year is expected in the month of September. If the notice is released as expected, the Phase I exam will be held held in November 2018. Last year, the official notification was released 21st October 2017. The application process started on the same date. And the last date to apply was 17th November 2017. SSC JE Application Form

Application process mentioned below is as per previous year's guideline.

  • Visit their official website.
  • Click on apply tab & then on JE.
  • Register yourself if you haven’t done so before. This is a one-time requirement and once you register, you can apply to as many posts as you apply.
  • Fill the registration form completely and correctly.
  • After submitting the form, a registration ID and password will be generated. Note this down as it will be required for all future communications.
  • Now login using this ID and password. Upload a scanned copy of your passport size photograph (4 to 20 kb) and signature (1 to 12 kb).
  • Next fill in the required details.
  • Take a printout of the form for future reference.

SSC JE Application Fee

The required fee for various categories is as given below:

General /OBC Rs.100/-
SC/ST/PWD/Women No Fee

The required Application fees can be paid through both online mode (net banking/debit card/credit card) and offline mode (e-challan).

SSC JE Selection Process

The selection procedure for the SSC JE exam will involve three stages as below:

  • Paper I will be online objective test of 200 marks for 2 hours.
  • Paper II will be a descriptive test of 300 marks for 2 hours.
  • Interview: Those who qualify the Paper I as well as Paper II with the minimum cut off marks as specified by the commission will be called to attend the personal interview round. Final selection will depend on the marks obtained in both the papers (Paper I + Paper II) and interview.
