Important Maths Questions for CUET 2027 PDF
The CUET Mathematics syllabus is divided into Section A and Section B, and Section B is further split into B1 and B2:
Section A (15 questions, all compulsory): Common topics drawn from both Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. Every candidate must attempt these.
Section B1 (Core Mathematics): 35 questions are presented, and you attempt 25. This is the choice most Science-stream and traditional Mathematics students select.
Section B2 (Applied Mathematics): 35 questions are presented, and you attempt 25. Chosen by students whose target course requires Applied Mathematics.
You attempt either B1 or B2 depending on your target course and university requirement, not both.
Note on the recent syllabus revision
In its CUET UG 2026 update, the NTA revised Section B1 (Core Mathematics), notably removing "Random Variables and their Probability Distributions" from the Probability unit, so the scope there now centres on Conditional Probability, Bayes' Theorem, and Bernoulli Trials / Binomial Distribution. The Integrals unit also received clarifications.
This revised structure is expected to carry into 2027, but always confirm the final syllabus on the official NTA portal before locking your study plan.

The overall difficulty was rated moderate to difficult, and students widely reported the paper as lengthy with calculation-heavy questions.

Solve against the clock, not against the answer key. The real difficulty in recent papers wasn't the concepts; it was completing 40 attempts in 60 minutes. Time every set you practise.
Sort your errors into "concept" vs "silly." A concept error means go back to NCERT for that unit. A silly error under time pressure means your attempt strategy needs work, not more theory.
Respect the −1. Under +5/-1, a blind guess has negative expected value. If you can't confidently eliminate at least two options, skipping usually protects your percentile more than attempting.
Front-load Calculus, Matrices, and Vectors. These have been the most reliable scoring clusters; secure them first, then stretch into Differential Equations and 3D applications, which tend to run longer.
