AFCAT 2 Notification 2020: Check Vacancies, Eligibility Criteria and Important Dates

Indian Air Force released the recruitment notification on 10th June 2020, for the hiring of AFCAT (02/2020) for Flying Branch & Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. Interested candidates can read the complete post to know about the AFCAT Notification 2020 and other related details.

AFCAT Eligibility Criteria 2020

Indian Air Force has recently invited both male and female individuals to join in flying and ground duty (technical and non-technical) branches via AFCAT 2020. The AFCAT eligibility criteria differ for both of the branches. The eligibility criteria of AFCAT will be considered in terms of the candidate's Age, Qualification & Nationality. Candidates who do not meet the AFCAT Eligibility Criteria will not be able to fill their application forms.

AFCAT Age Limit 2020

The eligibility criteria for age differs for Flying & Ground Duty Branch. The table given below has the age criteria for AFCAT 2020:

Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch
  • 20 to 26 years (born between January 2, 1994, to January 1, 2000 (both dates inclusive))

AFCAT Education Qualification 2020

The below table explains the required educational qualification as per the latest AFCAT 2020 Notification.

Flying Branch  - Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and (a) Graduation with minimum of three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. Candidates must follow the steps given below in order to fill the form correctly

  1. Visit the official website of AFCAT or click on the above direct link
  2. Click on the link that says 'AFCAT Application Form'
  3. Fill in the required details in the registration form.
  4. Once the form is successfully submitted, a new Registration ID and Password will be generated and sent to the candidate’s email-id provided.
  5. Login to the AFCAT portal using your Registration ID and Password.
  6. Fill all the details as per the given instructions.
  7. Select your branch, exam centre and subject of the exam.
  8. Upload Photograph and Signature.
  9. Submit the application form.
  10. Pay the application fee.
  11. Take a print out of the application.

AFCAT Exam Pattern 2020

Scheme of Examination There is a total of 100 questions. Each Question carries 3 marks. Each wrong answer carries a penalty of 1 mark. Questions that are not attempted do not carry a penalty.

For Ground Duty Technical Branch, you have to go through an EKT round i.e. Engineering Knowledge Test. It consists of 50 questions and 150 marks that you need to complete within 45 minutes. Candidates who are shortlisted in AFCAT will be called for further testing at AFSB or Air Force Selection Board in any of its branches at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar or Varanasi. The test consists of various stages

  • Stage-I: Test consists of Intelligence Test along with other tests conducted on the first day. Candidates who qualify in Stage I will be subjected to document verification to see if they are eligible for the branches that they have applied for. Candidates who do not qualify in Stage I of testing will have their candidature canceled beyond this point.
  • Stage-II: Stage-II consists of Psychological Test, Group Test, and Interview which is conducted for a period of 5 days.
  • For Flying Branch: Pilot Aptitude Battery Test would be conducted for eligible candidates who are pursuing Flying Branch.
