Make sure you check the eligibility criteria and read through the admission brochure after filling out the application form. Follow the steps below if you have to register. 

• Visit the official website (www.uceed.iitb.ac.in) to locate the BDes application button and click on it.
• Choose B.Des (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad & IIITDM Jabalpur)
• Click on Login if you have to newly register. Enter Email ID.
• An Email will be sent to you with an activation link. Open the URL and fill in the requested information.
• If you are waiting for seat allotment rounds, then enter the UCEED roll number, Total marks scored, DOB, DIN, and Email address to verify.

UCEED B.Des Application Process: Eligibility Criteria 2025

You must have satisfied the following criteria to apply for the UCEED exam 2025. 

1. Age limit: The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 2000, if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and, on or after October 1, 1995, if belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD category.
2. UCEED qualification: The candidate should have qualified, i.e., obtained a rank, in UCEED 2025. 
3. Qualifying examination: The candidate should have passed all five subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2025. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible.

Candidates from the Science Stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects are eligible to apply to all the five participating institutes. Candidates from any other stream  are eligible to apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Hyderabad.

For admission to BDes at IIITDM Jabalpur, only students with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology at 10+2 can apply. 

The candidates appearing for their qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2025 must ensure that (a) all parts of their final examination are completed by the date of application for admission and (b) proof of having passed the qualifying examination with the required eligibility is submitted by the last date.

Documents required for UCEED B.Des Application Process

Here are the documents required for UCEED registration -

• A recent colour photograph of a full frontal (face) view, with the head centred in the frame covering 70–80% of the photograph and taken within the last six months. The photograph should be such that it allows unambiguous identification of the candidate
• A scanned copy of the candidate’s full signature on white paper.
• Qualifying examination certificate, if appeared in 2024.
• For candidates appearing in 2025 for the exam, a certificate from the school/college principal in the given format (Appendix 1) should be uploaded
• If the name is not the same as in the Class XII certificate, a gazette notification showing the name change is required.

The UCEED registration fee for different categories are given below -

The B.Des application counselling fee for BDes application Process 2025 is INR 2000, and this fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

UCEED B.Des Application Process: Key Considerations

• Applicants will be able to edit their application form, including the order of preference of institutes, and resubmit it, 
• This can be done till the closing date of the application period. 
• However, after the closing date, all institute choices and information filled in the applications are treated as Final. 
• Requests for any changes in the application (after the closing date) will strictly not be entertained.
• Seats are reserved for foreign nationals as well. Seats allotted to foreign students are supernumerary, with a cap of 10% of the total available seats in the course, in order of merit.
• The fee structure for the academic year will be made available on respective institute websites closer to the date of admission.

Reservation for UCEED B.Des

• Candidates belonging to the EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD categories will be declared as qualified on the basis of a relaxed criterion.
• Candidates must note that the benefit of reservation will be given to them subject to verification of documents at the appropriate stage. If it is discovered at any stage that a candidate has used a false/fake/invalid/incorrect document or has furnished false, incorrect, or incomplete information in order to avail the benefit of reservation, then such a candidate shall be excluded from all admission processes. In case such a candidate has already been given admission, then the admission shall stand cancelled.
• If the PwD certificate is not valid, the candidate will be rolled back to GEN
• The candidate must submit a valid and updated certificate while submitting his/her application for BDes admission to avail of reservation.
• Seat allocation will be based on the All India Rank (merit order), reservation category, and seat availability in each institute at the time of seat allocation. 
• Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) 10% of seats. EWS certificates issued only from April 1, 2021, onwards are accepted.
• Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) have 27% of seats in the course.
• Scheduled Caste (SC) - 15% of seats in the course.
• Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 7.5% of seats in the course.
• Unfilled seats in the OBC-NCL category can be allotted to OPEN category candidates during the counselling if there are no more qualified OBC-NCL candidates in the applicant list, subject to the availability of rounds of seat allocation.
• Seats remaining vacant under the SC and ST categories shall NOT be allotted to candidates belonging to other categories.
