How to Prepare for the Bihar APO Exam 2026?

Cracking the Bihar APO exam requires a structured, disciplined approach. Here is a stage-wise strategy designed around the actual syllabus and exam demands.

Completely Cover the New Criminal Laws First

The biggest change in the 2026 syllabus is the inclusion of BNS, BSA, and BNSS in place of IPC, Indian Evidence Act, and CrPC.

These new laws are a significant portion of both Prelims and Mains law papers. Start with reading bare acts and then move to comparison charts with the old laws.

Build a Subject-wise Study Plan

Divide your preparation into weekly blocks:

  • Weeks 1-4: New Criminal Codes (BNS, BSA, BNSS)
  • Weeks 5-8: Constitution, CPC, and Special Laws
  • Weeks 9-12: General Studies: History, Polity, Geography, Current Affairs
  • Weeks 13-16: Language papers: Hindi and English writing practice
  • Ongoing: Daily current affairs (minimum 30 minutes)

Use Standard Reference Books

Instead of juggling with too many resources, choose the best Bihar APO books and begin your prep. These standard textbooks are always good:

  • Bare Acts published by official/government publishers
  • Ratanlal & Dhirajlal's Law of Crimes for BNS
  • M.P. Jain for Constitutional Law
  • C.K. Takwani for CPC
  • NCERT books for History, Geography, and General Science (Prelims)

Solve PYQs, Attempt Mocks, and Practice Mains Answer Writing

Everything you learn will not be complete unless you practice how to apply that in exams. Solve previous year's question papers, attempt sectional and full-length mocks to build the correct exam temperament.

Make sure you start practicing mains answer writing in time to perform well in the mains.

Conclusion

Here are your key takeaways:

  • Regularly check the official BPSC website (www.bpsc.bih.nic.in or bpsc.bihar.gov.in) for the official notification PDF, which will confirm the exact vacancies, dates, and detailed selection criteria for the Bihar APO 2026 exam.
  • Remember that you must qualify in each sequential stage of the selection process.
  • Be ready to utilize the BPSC Bihar APO 2026 Recruitment Apply Online Link immediately once it is activated on the official site and start preparing by following the Bihar APO syllabus.
