Common Mistakes to Avoid When Filling Out the AILET PG Application Form 2027

Filling the form is simple if you prepare in advance. These are the errors that most often cause rejection or delays:

  • Name mismatch: Enter your name exactly as it appears on your 10th, 12th and UG certificates. A spelling difference or a wrong initial can get the application rejected at verification. If your name has initials, leave a blank space after each initial.
  • Wrong date of birth format: Use the English calendar date exactly as recorded on your school/pre-university certificate.
  • Incorrect category selection: Choose the right category (SC, ST, EWS, Kashmiri Migrant, J&K Resident, PwD, or Foreign National) and keep the supporting certificate ready to upload and to present during counselling. A category claimed without a valid certificate is treated as General.
  • Skipping the official instructions: Read the instruction sheet in the official notification before you begin. It flags cycle-specific changes to fees, documents or centres.
  • Not saving your application number: After submitting, write down your application number. You'll need it for the admit card, result and counselling.

Here are the key takeaways:

  • AILET PG 2027 registration opens from 7th August 2026; the exam is scheduled for 13th December 2026.
  • Confirm you meet the eligibility criteria before paying, a wrong claim wastes the fee.
  • Name and date of birth must match your certificates exactly; these are the most common rejection triggers.
  • The fee is ₹3,500 (General/OBC) and ₹1,500 (SC/ST/PwD); BPL SC/ST candidates are exempt.
  • Prepare your photo, signature and certificates to the exact size/format before starting.
  • Save your application number after submitting, you'll need it throughout the cycle.
