First or second week of January 2026 (Tentative). The official CAT 2025 result date will be published on the IIM CAT website. Candidates should frequently check the portal and ensure their registered email and mobile number remain active for alerts.

CAT 2025 Result Percentile Calculation

The CAT percentile calculation is done in four steps:

• The marks are awarded based on correct and incorrect attempts.
• The total score is calculated by adding +3 marks for each correct answer, while -1 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.
• Lastly, the overall and section-wise scores are normalised to arrive at a scaled CAT score.
• The final normalised scores are then converted to percentiles, which are presented in the CAT scorecards.

What to Do After the CAT 2025 Results?

Once the CAT 2025 results are announced, the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will begin selecting candidates for the next stages: the Written Ability Test (WAT) and the Personal Interview (PI). 

Each IIM will set its own minimum CAT cut-off scores. If your CAT score meets the cut-off, you must fill out an online form on the official IIM website you selected during your application.

Make sure to complete this form before the deadline to be considered for the next steps. The selection process will look at your CAT score as well as your academic performance in Class 10 and Class 12.

Here’s how the admission process unfolds:

• Initial Screening: Candidates will be screened based on their CAT scores and academic records.
• WAT and PI Rounds: If shortlisted, you will participate in the Written Ability Test and Personal Interview.
• Final Selection: The final decision will involve various factors, including your CAT score, academic history, work experience, academic diversity, gender diversity, and your performance in the WAT and PI rounds.

The top IIMs manage their admissions individually, while the newer IIMs, often referred to as "baby IIMs," conduct their admissions through a joint process known as the Common Admission Process (IIM CAP). 

For the 2025-2027 MBA/PGP batch, the IIMs are expected to release the MBA/PGP shortlist in January 2025, with Personal Interviews taking place in March-April and final results being announced by May 2025. Good luck!
