UP Judiciary Vacancy 2026 – Expected Vacancies

UP PCS J Exam 2026 - Reservation Criteria 

According to the Uttar Pradesh Judicial Service (Fifth Amendment) Rules, 2022 regarding Amendment in Uttar Pradesh Judicial Service Rules, 2001, 4% of vacancies are reserved for the following persons with "benchmark disabilities", namely:

(i) 1% for the persons in the following category of disabilities under the category of 'Locomotor disability:- 

1. Locomotor disability of One Arm, One Leg and Both Legs;
2. Leprosy-cured person;
3. Dwarfism;
4. Acid attack victims;

(ii) 1% for the persons with 'Low vision' under the category of 'Visual Impairment.' 

(iii) 1% for the persons with 'hard of hearing' under the category of 'Hearing Impairment.' 

(iv) Remaining 1% for the persons mentioned in the above clause (i), (ii) & (iii), on a rotation basis. 

A total of three posts have been allotted in the sequence of 1, 1, 1 posts in the above categories. As per India's reservation norms, the criteria for different categories are tabulated below:

UP Judiciary 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the UP PCS J 2026 Exam, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

1. Educational Qualification

• The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.

• Both 3-year LLB and 5-year integrated LLB graduates are eligible.

• Candidates must be enrolled as an Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961 (preferred but not mandatory).

2. Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 22 years

• Maximum Age: 35 years

• Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories:

  • OBC Candidates: 3 years (up to 38 years)

  • SC/ST Candidates: 5 years (up to 40 years)

  • PwD Candidates: 10 years (up to 45 years)

3. Nationality

• The candidate must be a citizen of India.

4. Language Proficiency

• Candidates must have proficiency in Hindi (Devanagari script).

Factors Affecting UP PCS J Vacancy
