This single rule should change how you sit the paper. Because a blank answer and a wrong answer both score exactly zero, leaving a question unattempted has no defensive value at all. Skipping a question you're unsure about doesn't protect your score, it just guarantees you don't earn the mark.  

The strategy you need to follow is straightforward:  

• Attempt every question. There is no arithmetic under which a blank beats a guess. 
• Eliminate before guessing. Ruling out even one of four options moves a guess from 25% to 33%, and the expected value is positive either way. 
• Reserve the last five minutes for sweeping up. Fill in every remaining question before the timer ends, however uncertain. 
• Don't over-deliberate Part A. With no penalty, a fast reasonable answer on a 1-mark aptitude question is better than a slow perfect one that costs you a Part B question.

Language  

The CBT is bilingual (available in both Hindi and English) except for the test of language itself. Multiple Sessions  

If AAI conducts the test across more than one session, scores from different sessions are equated to adjust for slight differences in the difficulty of the test batteries used. You are not disadvantaged by drawing a harder slot.  

Attempts  

You may appear only once per post in a recruitment cycle. Appearing more than once results in cancellation of candidature. If more than one call letter is generated, appear only on the date and time shown on the relevant call letter.

The interview stage applies to Post Codes 1 to 11, which includes Manager (Law) but not Junior Executive (Law).  

So, if you're targeting Junior Executive (Law), your CBT score is your selection. There is no interview to recover marks in, and every mark on the paper is final. For Manager (Law), the CBT shortlists you and the interview decides whether you get selected.

How to Prepare According to the AAI Law Officer Exam Pattern 2026?  

Here are specific AAI law officer preparation tips to make sure you're well aligned with the AAI law officer exam pattern:  

• Weight your hours to the weightage. Roughly seven marks in every ten sit in Part B. A candidate strong on aptitude but light on the AAI Act, Aircraft Act and tender law is effectively competing for 36 marks while the selected candidate competes for 120. A defensible split is around 70% of study time on Part B.
