Latest Changes in the Haryana ADA Exam Pattern  

As directed by the Haryana and Punjab High Court, the Haryana ADA exam pattern has significantly changed for 2026 by the HPSC.  

  • Now, at least 50% of the screening test questions are now from Law subjects, and the remaining 50% are from General Studies. Earlier, the exam pattern heavily focused on Law subjects (80% Law, 20% General Studies).  
  • The screening test remains qualifying in nature.  
  • The exam pattern ensures that performance in subject knowledge test and the interview is formally integrated into the final selection.  

Haryana ADA Selection Process 2026  

The Haryana ADA Selection Process is conducted by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Assistant District Attorney.  

This process has 3 stages: Screening Test → Subject Knowledge Test → Interview

Haryana ADA Exam Pattern 2026: Screening Test (Prelims) 

Screening Test is the first stage of the Haryana ADA recruitment process. This test is conducted to shortlist candidates for the Subject Knowledge Test based on their basic legal understanding and analytical abilities.  

  • This exam is only qualifying in nature; its marks will not be added to the final results. 
  • This will be an objective type test with multiple choice questions.  
  • 50% of the questions will be from the Law subjects as stated in the Haryana ADA syllabus.  
  • This test will consist of 100 questions of 1 mark each.  
  • There will be negative markings. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

The Haryana ADA screening test (prelims) syllabus is divided into two categories: Law subjects and General studies subjects. It generally includes direct and concept-based questions from:
