Maharashtra Judiciary JMFC Eligibility Criteria for the Latest Vacancy

Basic Maharashtra Judiciary Eligibility Criteria for JMFC examination 2023 is, that he/she must be a citizen of India.

Fresh Law Graduate

minimum 21

maximum 25 (for orphan)

maximum 30 (for backward class)

(1) Degree in Law. Must have passed each examination for the said degree in the first attempt and (ii) passed the final year of the Bachelor of Laws or the final year of the Master of Laws (LL.M.) with at least 55% marks on or before 01 September 2023 Must be registered as Lawyer.

 -

Ministerial Staff:-  Members of the Ministerial Staff of the High Court, Ministerial Staff of the Courts subordinate to the Court.

maximum 45 (for orphan)

maximum 50 (for backward class)

 Degree in Any discipline

Must have completed at least 3 years of service on or before September 01, 2023 after graduation in law.

Lawyer

minimum 21

maximum 35 (for orphan)

maximum 40 (for backward class)

 Degree in Law

At least 3 years experience in legal profession as Advocate, Attorney or Advocate in Bombay High Court or a Court subordinate thereto as on 01st September, 2023. (2) Service in Maharashtra in the post of Public Prosecutor shall be deemed to be judicial occupation.

Important Points to note:

  • All candidates must be able to speak, read and write Marathi well and have adequate knowledge of Marathi as well as translation from Marathi to English and from English to Marathi fluently. 
  • At the time of interview a certificate regarding knowledge of Marathi language must be produced by the following competent authority in the prescribed format:-

(1) Attorney or advocate - Chief District and Sessions Judge / Chief Justice of the concerned district.

(2) Fresh Law Graduate – Principal/Head of University Department or College where name is registered for Law Course (LL.B./LL.M.).

(3) High Court and Courts Subordinate to it, Departmental Staff, Ministry etc. - Head of Department / Head of Office under whose control the Service is. 

(4) By re-entry candidate, into service of retired Civil Judges (Junior Level) under special circumstances. 

  • Candidates who do not possess Marathi language qualification are required to pass the Marathi language test within six months as per government rules.

Evidence of Experience for Maharashtra Judiciary JMFC Eligibility Criteria:- 

At the time of interview, a certificate of experience issued by the following Competent Authority must be produced in the prescribed format:-

(1) In the case of advocates - Chief District and Sessions Judge/Chief Judge of the district where the candidate is practising. 

(2) In respect of service employees - the Head of Department/Head of Office under whose control the service is. 

Date of Calculation of Educational Qualification and Duration of Experience:-

(1) Academic qualification shall be deemed to have been acquired on the date of declaration of the result of the relevant examination by the Statutory University. 

(2) Educational and other qualifications acquired on the date of advertisement i.e. 01st September, 2023 as well as experience will be considered for qualification  and further selection.

From 04th September, 2023 from 14.00 hrs to September 25, 2023, 23:59

Last date for payment of prescribed examination fee through online mode

Dated September 25, 2023 at 23:59 

Date of taking copy of challan for payment of examination fee through challan through State Bank of India 

Dated September 27, 2023 at 23:59 

Last date for payment of examination fee by challan 

Dated the 29th day of September, 2023
