The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made a few changes to the JEE Main Paper 2 Exam Pattern. As per the new JEE Main B.Arch exam pattern, section B's marking scheme for JEE mains paper 2 will also have a negative marking from this year.
Understanding the JEE Main Paper 2 exam pattern and syllabus is vital for securing good grades in the entrance exam. Paper 2 of the JEE Main exam consists of two parts: Paper 2A for B. Arch programs and Paper 2B for B.Plan programs.

Last year, the JEE Main Paper 2 Exam was conducted in two sessions, i.e., January and April 2024.
Referring to the analysis of the JEE Main 2024 Paper 2 exam pattern, the JEE Main B Arch question paper pattern included three sections: Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing.
The JEE Main Paper 2 exam is conducted for 400 marks.
As said above, section B of both B. Arch and B. Plan will have a negative marking of -1 mark for each wrongly answered question.
Both B.Arch and B.Planning papers are conducted online except for the Drawing section in B.Arch. The drawing part is performed offline, i.e., pen and paper.

As per the official brochure, the 2026 B. Arch entrance exam will mainly test your mathematics, aptitude, and drawing skills.
The JEE Main paper will have 77 questions, including 25 questions (20 MCQs & 5 Numerical Value Questions) from mathematics, 50 questions from aptitude, and two questions on drawing. The mathematics and aptitude exam will be computer-based, while the drawing section will be pen and paper based.
Each question carries four marks, and there is negative marking for Sections A and B of the mathematics section.

According to the JEE Main Paper 2 exam pattern, the mathematics section includes 30 questions (20 MCQs and ten numerical value questions), 50 questions from aptitude, and 25 questions from the planning section.
The exam is for 400 marks. In the mathematics section, you have to attempt only 25 questions out of 30.
