CLAT Registration 2023

The consortium of NLUs will start the online registration process for CLAT 2023 tentatively in October 2022. This guide addresses all issues related to the registration process one might face in the official site. 

You can follow the step-by-step instructions given below while filling out the online form to avoid any type of errors.

How to fill out CLAT Registration Form 2023?

Before proceeding with the application process, make sure to go through the CLAT Eligibility Criteria completely. 

There are four stages involved in filling out the CLAT 2023 registration form. 

Step 1: Online Registration for CLAT 2023

Those who are applying for CLAT must firstly complete the registration process.

Direct Link to Fill CLAT 2023 Application Form

  • Visit the CLAT Official website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in
  • You will be redirected to a new registration window
  • On the new page, click on "Register" present under the login button
  • A pop-up window appears where you have to enter registration details like your name, phone number, e-mail ID, and password.

  • Enter the details correctly and click on Register
  • You will receive an OTP to your registered mobile number. Click "OK" to confirm.

  • Enter the OTP and Mobile Number. Click on "Activate"

  • Your account will be activated, and you will receive a confirmation message. Now you can proceed with CLAT Registration 2023 process.

Step 2: Filling the CLAT Registration Form

  • On the login page, enter your mobile number and password
  • Click on the "Login" button
  • After logging in, you can find two options, "UG" and "PG"
  • Click on your respective course and click on "Apply for CLAT 2023"

  • There are five categories in the application form: Personal Information, Communication Details, Qualifying Examination Details, Preferences, and Reservation.

Details to be Filled in Personal Information

Fill in the below-listed details correctly so that you need not edit again which might result in the cancellation of your candidature.

Here you also need to upload scanned documents. Check the documents to be uploaded in the next step.

This category is for providing your location and communication details. So make sure to enter the details correctly.

Details to be Filled in Qualifying Examination Details

This category includes the candidate's education qualification details.

Details to be Filled in Preference

In this section, the candidate needs to select the preference for the test center and NLU preference. Candidates can choose three exam centers in the order of priority. 

  • There is a list of 22 NLUs shown, so select them carefully. 
  • You need to select all the 22 NLUs in the order to preference or priority.

Details to be Filled in Reservation

  • You will be offered admission to a particular NLU based on the reservation.
  • So you can select the Reservation categories for all the 22 NLUs, respectively. 
  • Tick the boxes beside each NLU based on your eligibility.

  • After completing the Reservation, tick the declaration and submit the form. 

Step 3: Uploading of Documents

After login into your account, in the first category, i.e., Personal Information, you will have to upload your scanned documents. 

  • There are various documents you need to upload, including Photo, Signature, Reserved certificate, Caste Category Certificate. 
  • Ensure to upload these documents in the specified format as mentioned in the above "Documents Required for CLAT Registration 2023" section
  • Go through the format, size, and other rules to upload the document correctly. 

Step 4: CLAT Registration Fee 2023

After completion of filling out the CLAT online form, you will be redirected to a new page. You can either "Edit Application" or "Delete Application"  or "Make Payment." Click on the "Make Payment" button.

  • Based on your category of caste, the application fee is automatically selected.
  • You can pay Rs 500/- extra if you want Previous Year Papers.

Question Paper Fee (if opted) 500
  • So the total amount to be paid if select previous year papers for SC/ST/ BPL category is Rs 4000/-
  • For the General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI category, it would be Rs 4500/-

  • You can make the payment either only through Online mode after selecting "Confirm Payment."
  • You will be redirected to a new page where you can make the payment

  • Select the online payment option, i.e., Card or Net Banking, and enter your details to make the payment. 
  • You will have to bear the bank transaction charges for remitting the fee online.
  • The actual bank transaction charges will be displayed on the payment gateway page after you choose the mode of payment.
  • Application Fees are non-refundable.

Now, this completes the CLAT Exam Registration Process 2023. After the successful payment, you will be shown a window as below. Click on Back to Home. You will be redirected to the homepage.

Here you will be shown the CLAT Registration 2023 Status, i.e., application status. From here, you can either edit the application or print the application.

Take a printout of the CLAT application form for future reference. You can also edit the online form by clicking on the "Edit Application Form." You must remember that you can edit only the application form and reservation categories.

You cannot change the caste category, and BPL option after payment is done. 

CLAT Registration Form Correction 2023

It is advised to keep an eye out while filling out the form as you cannot edit the form completely. 

  • After completion of the first stage of the application process, i.e., before making the payment, you have the option to edit the CLAT Application Form.
  • You can edit the entire form; if you wish to.
  • There is an option of correcting the CLAT Online Form after the fee payment. 
  • You can edit the CLAT Application Form by clicking on the "Edit Application Form" tab.
  • Changes cannot be made in the caste category, and the BPL option after payment is done.
