How to fill CLAT Registration Form 2020?

There are four stages involved in filling the CLAT 2020 registration form. Follow the step by step instructions to fill the CLAT Online registration Form correctly. As the CLAT Last Date of Registration is 10th July 2020, fill the form before that.

Step 1: Online Registration for CLAT 2020

Candidates willing to apply for CLAT must firstly complete the CLAT Exam Registration 2020. The below instructions explain how to complete the CLAT 2020 Online Registration.

  • Visit the CLAT Official website:
  • On the homepage, click on the button "Click Here"
  • In the new page, click on "Register" present under the login button
  • A pop up appears which includes Name, Mobile Number, Password. 

  • Enter the details correctly and click on Register
  • You will receive an OTP to your registered mobile number. Click "OK" to confirm.

  • Enter the OTP and Mobile Number. Click on "Activate"

  • Your account will be activated and You will receive a confirmation message. Now you can proceed with CLAT Registration Process 2020.

Step 2: Filling the CLAT Registration Form 2020

  • In the login page, Enter your mobile number and password
  • Click on the "Login" button
  • After logging in, you can find two options "UG" and "PG"
  • Click on your respective course and click on "Apply for CLAT 2020"

  • There are five categories in the application form that includes: Personal Information, Communication Details, Qualifying Examination Details, Preferences, and Reservation.

Details to be Filled in Personal Information

Fill the below-listed details correctly so that you need not edit again or result in cancellation of candidature. Here you also need to upload scanned documents. check the documents to be uploaded in the next step.

Details to be Filled in Preference

In this section, the candidate needs to select the preference for the test center and NLU preference. Candidates can select three exam centers in the order of priority. 

  • There is a list of 22 NLU's shown so select them carefully. 
  • You need to select all the 22 NLUs in the order to preference or priority.

Details to be Filled in Reservation

  • Candidates will be offered an admission to a particular NLU based on the reservation.
  • So you can select the Reservation categories for all the 22 NLUs respectively. 
  • Tick the boxes beside each NLU on the basis of your eligibility.

  • After completing the Reservation, tick the declaration and submit the form. 

Step 3: Uploading of Documents

After login into your account. In the first category i.e, Personal Information, you will have to upload your scanned documents. 

  • There are various documents you need to upload which include Photo, Signature, Reserved certificate, Caste Category Certificate. 
  • Ensure to upload these documents in the specified format as mentioned in the above "Documents Required for CLAT Registration 2020" section
  • Go through the format, size and other rules to upload the document correctly. 

Step 4: CLAT Registration Fee 2020

After completion of filling the CLAT Registration Form 2020, you will be redirected to a new page. You can either "Edit Application" or "Delete Application"  or "Make Payment". Click on the "Make Payment" button.

  • Based on your category of caste, the application fee is automatically selected.
  • You can pay Rs 500/- extra if you want Previous Year Papers.

  • So the total amount to be paid if select previous year papers for SC/ST/ BPL candidates is Rs 4000/-
  • For General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI candidates it would be Rs 4500/-

  • You can make the payment either through only through Online mode after selecting "Confirm Payment"
  • You will be redirected to a new page where you can make the payment

  • Select the online payment option i.e., Card or Net Banking, and enter your details to make the payment. 
  • The candidates themselves will have to bear the bank transaction charges for remitting the fee online.
  • The actual bank transaction charges will be displayed in the payment gateway page after you choose the mode of payment.
  • Application Fees are non-refundable.

Now, this completes the CLAT Exam Registration Process 2020. After the successful payment, you will shown a window as below. Click on Back to Home. You will be redirected to the homepage.

Here you will shown the CLAT Registration 2020 Status i.e., application status. From here you can either edit the application or print the application. Take a printout of the CLAT Registration Form for future reference. You can also edit the CLAT Application Form by click on the "Edit Application Form". Candidates must remember that they can edit only Application form and reservation categories. You cannot change the caste category and BPL option after payment is done. 

CLAT Registration Form Correction 2020

It is advised for all candidates to keep an eye while filling the form as you cannot edit the form completely. But, you can correct the CLAT Registration Online Form 2020. 

  • After completion of the first stage of the application process, i.e, before making the payment you have the option of meeting the CLAT Application Form 2020.
  • You can edit the entire form if you wish to.
  • But, there is again an option of correcting the CLAT Online Form after the fee payment. 
  • You can edit the CLAT Application Form by click on the "Edit Application Form". But, candidates must remember that they can edit only Application form and reservation categories.
  • Changes cannot be made into the caste category and BPL option after payment is done. 

Important Instruction During CLAT Registration 2020

Here are a few instructions you need to follow while completing the CLAT Online Registration

  • Candidates must remember that they can apply for CLAT only through CLAT Registration Website i..e, CLAT official website
  • The entire CLAT Application Process is done only through online mode
  • Candidates can make the payment only through online mode. There is no offline mode of payment.
  • Candidates must submit only one application form. If the authorities found more than 1 application form with similar phone number and e-mail, the form which is filled later will be considered
  • Ensure to upload the documents in specified format correctly
  • Also, fill in all the required details correctly as you cannot edit the entire form again.
  • Candidates shall fill their preference order for all 21 NLUs at the time of the online application itself. Any changes would not be allowed in the preference after form submission
