CGPSC Civil Judge Selection Process 2023

Candidates getting ready for the CGPSC examination 2023 will be experiencing a thorough CGPSC Civil Judge Selection Process set up by the Commission. Currently, the stages are subdivided into three categories which are prelims, mains, and the interview round.

The CGPSC Prelims Examination was undertaken on 12th February 2023. The online registration procedure for CGPSC Recruitment State Service Main Exam will begin soon.

Through the CGPSC State Service Exam, the commission has determined to select applicants for 242 vacancies available for various posts. While preparing for the examination, the applicants must ensure they are completely acquainted with the CGPSC Civil Judge Recruitment Process.

Chhattisgarh PSC Civil Judge Selection Process

The Chhattisgarh Civil Judge Recruitment Process comprises 3 stages - Prelims, Mains, and the Interview Round. Each of the three phases is an integral factor for an applicant's qualification in the CGPSC test 2023.

The goal of applicants for Prelims is to just qualify, whereas the Mains and the Interview are comprehensive and vast. Candidates should qualify for all the stages from the CGPSC test 2023 to be qualified for CGPSC Civil Judge Selection Procedure.

The applicants must note that CGPSC determines a particular cut-off for all the stages based on which they are ultimately shortlisted.

CGPSC Prelims Selection Process 2023

Stage 1 of the CGPSC Civil Judge Selection Process is shortlisting the applicants based on the marks they score in the Prelims exam. The Prelims round comprises two papers: Paper I (General Studies) and Paper II (Aptitude test).

  • Both papers I and II will be objective-type papers.
  • The papers will be conducted in an offline mode.
  • The Exam duration for each paper is 2 hours
  • Each paper accounts for 200 marks
  • Each paper comprises 100 questions.
  • 2 marks are awarded for each correct answer.
  • There is a 1/3 negative marking for each wrong answer.

Note: The base cut-off for the Prelims test is 33% for General Category and 23% for Reserved and OBC. Nonetheless, the marks scored by the applicants just in Paper I of the Prelims test will be considered for creating the merit list of the Mains examination.

CGPSC Mains Selection Process 2023

Stage 2 of the CGPSC Civil Judge Selection Process is shortlisting the applicants based on his/her marks in the Mains test.

CGPSC Mains comprises of 7 papers-

  • Language
  • Essay
  • History, Constitution and Public Administration
  • Science, Technology, and Environment
  • Economics and Geography
  • Mathematics and Logical Ability
  • Philosophy and Sociology
  • Each paper accounts for 200 marks.
  • The Exam Duration for each paper is 3 hours.
  • All the papers, aside from the Language paper, can be answered in either Hindi or English as chosen by the applicant.
  • In the Essay paper, students are required to compose 2 essays, one on a National level issue and the other identified with the province of Chhattisgarh.

The consolidated score of applicants in all seven papers of CGPSC will be considered for setting up the merit list for the Interview Round. The cut-off for the Mains test will be chosen by CGPSC later.

CGPSC Interview Round 2023

Stage 3 of the CGPSC Civil Judge Selection Process is Personality Test and Interview. The final merit will be created depending on the candidates' performance in the interview. The Interview Round accounts for 150 marks. Candidates who make it to the merit list are qualified for recruitment.

The Candidates will be chosen for different posts according to the preferences they chose while filling out their online application form. The candidates who meet all requirements for the mains test are invited for a personality test which is the interview and accounts for 150 marks.

The personality test evaluates the candidate's psychological mindfulness, clear and logical analysis, critical powers of formulation, variety, profoundness, parity of judgment, capability for social union and leadership and scholarly and moral trustworthiness.

The final merit list of recommended candidates will be created on the basis of total marks acquired in the Mains Exam and the Interview.

The eligibility criteria to appear for the Judicial Services Examination is a degree in LL.B and he/she has enrolled or has qualified to be enlisted as an advocate under the Advocates' Act 1961. No experience is required and last year students can likewise appear for the examination. As far as the age limit is concerned, it varies from state to state. It is generally between 21 to 35 years.
The selection process comprises of the accompanying stages - preliminary exam, mains exam and viva voce round.
A total of 32 vacancies have been declared for the post of Civil Judge.
