What is the XAT exam?

  • The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is an all-India-level management entrance examination to enter the prestigious Xavier School of Management (XLRI) and various other associated management institutes.
  • For more than 74 years XLRI has conducted the XAT exam at all India level to select the most appropriate candidate for management education.
  • The XAT exam is conducted every year in January by XLRI on behalf of XLRI Associate Member Institutes (XAMI).
  • The XAT exam is conducted across 70+ XAT exam centres across the country with almost every state having at least one XAT exam centre.
  • More than 160 institutes are using XAT exam scores for admission.

How to download the XAT exam Admit Card?

XAT exam admit card contains the candidate's name, roll number, photo, reporting time, and test venue. The admit card for the XAT exam is normally available for download until the exam day. To download their XAT admit cards, candidates need to use login credentials created at the time of XAT registration.

The XAT exam admit card can be downloaded using the below steps:

  1. Visit the official website of XAT (xatonline.in)
  2. Click on the “Login” tab
  3. Login using the XAT User ID created during registration, Date of Birth and click on ‘login’.
  4. Click on the ‘XAT exam admit card’ tab
  5. The option to download the XAT exam admit card will appear on the screen
  6. Click on download and save the XAT exam admit card in PDF format.

Once the candidates download the XAT exam admit card, candidates should check whether all the details mentioned on it are correct or not as per the details provided by them. If the details are not correct, they should connect to the responsible authorities at the earliest.

XLRI Jamshedpur issues certain XAT exam day instructions on the XAT exam admit card, which candidates should follow on the day of the examination.

  • In case of any error in the XAT exam admit card, candidates are advised to bring this issue to the notice of the exam-conducting body
  • No request for change in the XAT examination centre will be entertained
  • Admit card for XAT exam is valid for a specific period
  • After the closure of the entrance gate, no candidates will be allowed to enter
  • The candidature for the XAT exam is completely provisional. The candidature is liable to be cancelled at any stage of the exam if the candidate's eligibility criteria are not fulfilled the candidates.
  • Use of any electronic device such as a calculator, mobile phone, smartwatch, etc. is strictly prohibited inside the exam lab.
  • Candidates must carry their sanitiser bottle (50 ml), mask and gloves.
  • Candidates should carry a recent passport-size photograph if there is any discrepancy in the photograph
  • Before entering the XAT exam hall, candidates will have to go through the frisking process. No facility for storage will be provided to candidates, hence, if any objectionable item is found, candidates will be asked to leave it outside the XAT exam premises
  • Before 10 minutes of the examination, candidates will be allowed to log into the allotted computer system
  • In the examination hall, candidates will be provided with a rough sheet and pen
  • After completion of the XAT entrance test, candidates will have to submit the rough sheet to the exam invigilator

  • The candidate's names should not be incomplete or misspelled
  • The candidate's date of birth should not be incorrect

XAT Exam Admit Card: Things to take in addition to the centre

  • Candidates must carry their sanitiser bottle (50 ml), mask and gloves.
  • Candidates should carry a recent passport-size photograph if there is any discrepancy in the photograph
  • On the day of the XAT exam, candidates must bring any one of the following photo ID proofs for the verification process along with two copies of the XAT exam admit card: Voter ID Card, Driving License, Aadhar Card, Passport, PAN Card, College ID, Employee ID Card. However, Government ID cards are preferred for a hassle-free process.

XAT Exam Admit Card: Do’s and Don’ts generally mentioned

  • Carry two print-outs of the XAT 2025 admit card and an original copy of any identification ID issued by the Government of India.
  • Visit the XAT 2025 exam centre a day before the exam to know the location and distance from your location/stay. This will help you assess how much time it will take to reach the centre on the XAT exam day.
  • Reach the XAT test centre before reporting time on the exam day.
  • Do not try to enter the XAT exam centre on time and without permission.
  • Do not leave the exam hall until asked by the invigilator to vacate it.
  • There will be no provision to keep bags, phones, etc. outside the XAT exam centre, hence avoid carrying any such item.
