What is XAT exam?

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is an all-India level management entrance examination to get into the prestigious Xavier School of Management (XLRI) and various other associated management institutes.

The XAT exam is conducted every year in January by XLRI on behalf of XLRI Associate Member Institutes (XAMI).

The XAT entrance exam score is being used by more than 160 B-schools.  

Latest Update: 

  • The examination authority of XAT will conduct an official XAT mock test on October 28, 2023.
  • According to the official body of XAT, this simulation (XAT exam mock test) is designed to replicate the actual XAT entrance examination.

St. XAT Exam 2024 Notification – Important Updates 

  • XAT exam 2024 will be conducted on Sunday, January 7, 2024.  
  • XLRI has decided to make changes in exam timings. XAT 2024 will be conducted in the afternoon from 2.00 PM to 5.30 PM instead of morning from 9.30 AM to 12.40 PM. 
  • PGDM BM at the Jamshedpur campus, the final seat count has increased from 180 to 240 candidates. 
  • PGDM BM at Delhi NCR campus, the final seat count has increased from 120 to 180 candidates. 
  • Xavier School of Management-XLRI, Jamshedpur, has launched a Post Graduate Diploma in Management in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Venture Creation (PGDM-IEV). 
  • Admissions to XLRI programs are purely based on merit. There is no management or NRI quota.

XAT Exam Eligibility 2024 

To qualify for the XAT exam, candidates must fulfil the following basic requirements: 

  • Earned a three-year bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline from a recognized university or institution.  
  • No minimum percentage of marks scored is required.  
  • Students who anticipate completing their final examinations by June 10, 2024, can also apply.  
  • There is no specific age limit to register for the XAT exam 2024.

XAT Exam Syllabus 2024

The XAT entrance exam 2024 will take place on the first Sunday in January 2024, and it will consist of three sections:

The Exam Notification 2024 has been released by XLRI (Xavier School of Management) for admission into management courses in India. Which means - the XAT exam registration for 2024 has begun!

How to apply for XAT exam? How to fill XAT application form?

Here are the steps you need to follow to qualify for admission:

1. Visit the official website of XLRI & fill out the XAT online application form

  • Visit www.xatonline.in and click on “Register.” enter your Name, Email Id, contact details and set a password. A system-generated email/message will be communicated to you. Candidate should save it for future communication.
  • A candidate must verify his email by clicking on the link and proceed to complete the application procedure.

2. Upload the relevant documents such as graduation certificates, identity proofs, and other documents as notified

The candidate is supposed to upload a photo, signature and ID proof. Click on the declaration and verify the details thoroughly before submitting the application form.

  • The photograph must be a recent passport-size colour picture. 
  • The picture should be in colour, against a light colour, preferably white, background. 
  • Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face.
  • If the picture is taken on a sunny day, have the sun behind you, or place yourself in the shade so that you are not squinting and there are no harsh shadows.
  • If you have to use flash, ensure there’s no “red-eye”.
  • If you wear glasses make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes can be clearly seen.
  • Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear is allowed, but it must not cover your face.
  • Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred).
  • The size of the file should be between 20KB-50KB.
  • Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50KB. If the size of the file is more than 50KB, then adjust the settings of the scanner, such as the DPI resolution, no. of colours etc., during the process of scanning.

3. Pay the registration fee using online payment modes.

5. Receive the XAT exam Admit Card and take the printout for future reference

6. Attend the XAT entrance exam as per the given schedule and location

Once the registration is complete and the candidate is accepted, he/she should refer to the official exam schedule for details on the date and location of the exam. The individual should then make all the necessary travel arrangements to reach the given location on the exam day and arrive early for the exam. It is also important to carry the admit card and other documents like identification proofs, photo copies of the registration form, pencils, erasers, and sharpener to the exam centre. On arrival at the location, they should follow the instructions given by the invigilator.

7. After the exam is over, keep track of the updates provided by XLRI for the XAT exam date for results
