The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) administers the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), a national entrance exam for admission to various law programs at 22 NLUs.

CLAT UG is an entrance exam for undergraduate legal programs such as BA LLB, BBA LLB, BCom LLB, and BSc LLB.

According to the latest notification, the consortium of NLUs will conduct two exams in the same year, with CLAT 2022 being conducted on the 19th of June and CLAT 2023 taking place the same year on December 18. 

The CLAT PG exam, on the other hand, is used to provide admission to post-graduate law programs such as LLM and PSU jobs.

CLAT UG Exam Pattern

The entire question paper for CLAT UG courses will have passages followed by a series of questions except for the quantitative section.

In the quant section, the questions are based on graphs, pictorial representation, a set of facts, etc. You have to derive the answers from the given data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Candidates must be in the final year or must have completed their graduation degree in law for appearing in CLAT LLM Course.
The candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution. Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam in 2022 are also eligible.
The CLAT LLM is a 120 Objective question exam. 1 mark is awarded for every correct answer in the exam. This sums up the total marks to 120 for CLAT PG.
The total weightage of 150 questions asked in the CLAT UG Exam is 150 marks which means for every correct answer you will be awarded 1 mark.
