NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture)

The Council of Architecture (COA) conducts the NATA Exam annually for providing admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses in various colleges. 

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) quantifies the deform of the candidate for a particular field of study, for example, Architecture.

NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture)

The Council of Architecture (COA) conducts the NATA Exam annually for providing admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses in various colleges. 

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) quantifies the deform of the candidate for a particular field of study, for example, Architecture.

The entrance exam judges the drawing and observation skills, feeling of extent, stylish affectability, and basic reasoning capacity that have been obtained over a significant stretch of time and that are identified with a particular field of study, for example, Architecture.

  • NATA application form will be out from 1st February 2022 to 16th March 2022 for 1st attempt and for the 2nd attempt the application form is out till 4th May 2022.
  • NATA exam for 1st attempt is on 19th April 2022.
  • And for the 2nd Attempt, the exam is on 31st May 2022.
  • You should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in your class 12th with physics, chemistry, and mathematics as a compulsory subjects to apply for the NATA test.
  • If you have done a diploma with maths as a compulsory subject then also you are eligible to apply for the NATA test.
  • This is also a national-level entrance examination.
  • Your NATA scorecard will have a validity of 1 year. In that one year you can use that scorecard anytime. And there are some of the institutes that accept the NATA scorecard at the time of admission.
  • The top institutes that accept the NATA scorecard are – Dr. Rizvi College of Architecture Mumbai, Chandigarh College of Architecture, Jamia Islamia college of Architecture, Delhi, IES College of Architecture, Dehradun Institute of Technology, Sir JJ College of Architecture, etc.
  • The main participating institute in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Delhi.
  • Any student who has passed class 12th from PCM background with a minimum aggregate of 50% is eligible for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). The Minimum age limit is 17 years for NATA (on the 01st of July on the year of admission).
  • Around 22,850 candidates appeared for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) in 2021.
  • National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) consists of three subjects i.e. Mathematics, Drawing, and General Aptitude.
  • NATA comprises a total of 62 questions that are divided into 2 parts - Part A contains 60 questions and Part B contains 2 questions. Candidates will get 90 minutes each to attempt both parts.
  • Part A contains 60 multiple choice questions and Part B contains 2 drawing questions. Part A will take place in online mode and Part B will be held in offline mode only.
  • Part A will be of 110 marks and Part B will be of 90 marks.

HITSEEE (Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science Engineering Entrance Examination)

  • To take admission in HITs (Hindustan Institute of Technology) you have to give the HITSEEE (Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science Engineering Entrance Examination) examination.
  • To apply for this entrance examination you should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks with physics, mathematics, chemistry/ biology as a main subject.

  • The Physics subject comprises 40 multiple choice questions and holds a weightage of 40 marks in the Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science Engineering Entrance Examination (HITSEEE).

GITAM GAT Admission Test (Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management Admission Test)

This entrance examination is conducted by the GITAM University only. They offer many undergraduate courses also.

The basic eligibility criteria to apply for this entrance examination are 50% marks with physics, chemistry and mathematics as main subjects.

The GITAM University has 3 campuses that are in Visakhapatnam, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.

  • Indian citizens are only allowed to apply for this entrance examination.
  • The basic eligibility criteria to apply for the GITAM GAT is that the candidate should have passed their 10 + 2 from a recognised board. The candidates who will clear their 10 + 2 in 2022 will also be termed eligible.
  • The students who have physics, chemistry, and mathematics as their main subjects in class 11th and 12th are eligible to apply for this examination.
  • The candidates should have scored at least 60% aggregate marks in class 12th or if you have completed your 10 + 2 from CBSE or ICSE board then you are eligible with a minimum 55% of marks.
  • The minimum age to apply for this examination is 17 years and the maximum to apply for this entrance examination is 19 years as of April 2022.
  • This entrance examination is a university level entrance examination.

  • The Physics subject comprises 30 multiple choice questions and holds a weightage of 60 marks in the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management Admission Test (GITAM GAT). 
  • The Chemistry subject comprises 30 multiple choice questions and holds a weightage of 60 marks in the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management Admission Test (GITAM GAT).
  • The Mathematics / Biology subject comprises 40 multiple choice questions and holds a weightage of 80 marks in the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management Admission Test (GITAM GAT)
  • The candidates will get 2 hours of time to attempt the GITAM GAT examination.
  • There is no negative marking for the incorrect answers.

KIITEE (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Exam)

If you want to apply for this entrance examination you must have scored a minimum of 60% in your class 12th with maths, physics, and chemistry as main subjects.

  • The eligibility criteria for the B.Arch course varies from university to university. Some universities want a minimum 50%, some want 60% and some want 75% in class 12th as an eligibility criteria to apply for the examination.
  • If the candidate wants to apply for the postgraduate course then the candidate should have a graduation degree with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
  • The candidates who have completed their 10 + 2 + 3 from a recognised board are eligible to apply for the post graduation examination.
  • The candidates who have passed their 10 + 2 in 2020, 2021, and 2022 are eligible to apply for this examination.
  • Every year around 1,50,000 to 2,00,000 students appear for the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Examination.
  • The KIITEE examination will be conducted in online mode and in English language only.
  • The KIITEE examination consists of three sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.
  • The KIITEE examination consists of 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for 4 marks each.
  • These 120 questions are divided into 3 sections i.e. 40 questions each for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • For every right answer you will get 4 marks each and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

  • The Chemistry subject comprises 40 multiple choice questions and holds a weightage of 160 marks in the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Admission Test (KIITEE)

Those who have already cleared 10+2 scheme of exam with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (separately) and also 50% marks in total at 10+2 level exam and want to register for the 1st year of 5-year B.Arch degree course should write NATA 2022. Those who are appearing the 10+2 exam with PCM subjects in the ongoing year may also provisionally appear in the exam, however, their result in NATA-2022 will be released valid subject to fulfilling the criteria mentioned above.
