Summary: Merit-based entry for the UG program at DU ends after several years. Earlier, due to high cut-off marks, students weren't even eligible to apply at DU. However, since last year with the CUET exam in place, students across the country have had equal opportunity to apply at DU through CUET. CUET 2023 is the sole criterion for UG admissions into Delhi University.

Delhi University (DU) has released the admission policy and has begun the application process for UG courses.

Last year, the DU CUET admission process was conducted in 3 phases, and authorities have admitted how hassle-free the CUET admission process is when compared to merit-based admissions.

Let’s further explore the admission process for undergraduate programs through CUET at Delhi University.

How is the DU Merit list calculated?

DU conducts admission through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) in three phases, namely:

  • Submission of the CSAS 2023 application form
  • Selection of programs and filling of preferences
  • Seat allocation and admission

Students are advised to select as many programs as possible. In the candidate's best interest, it's advised to choose maximum programs and programme+college combinations.

It is advisable that the candidate must fill out the CSAS (UG)-2023 form carefully.

The university will auto-calculate the program-specific merit score per the eligibility criteria, and you must confirm your scores before choosing the preferences.

Calculation:

Only "normalized scores" by NTA will be considered for DU counselling to prepare the merit list.

Consider the following example:

UG Programs Student A subjects Student B subjects Normalization Score
BA Hons Political Science Hindi, Chemistry, Physics, Biology English, Physical Education, History, Sociology 662.15
BA (Hons) Economics Hindi, Maths, Chemistry, Physics Not eligible 583.32
BA (Hons) Spanish Hindi, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English, Physical Education, History, Sociology 662.15

Check the video from the SuperGards channel to understand how to calculate the normalization score, as this is the score that will be calculated for the counselling process.
